A weekend in bullets

Because it’s Monday and I’m tired……a weekend in bullet form.

  • We bought kayaks! Well, the husband and my mom did. No kayak for this pregnant lady just yet…but I did try them all out in the store. My mom got blue and the husband got khaki. Given the choice I would have picked the red one. Naturally.
  • My cousin and aunt were visiting over the weekend and brought along some kiddos. The husband was so sweet and took each kid out for a kayak trip. Here he is with Sally who is almost 5.
  • And again with Truman who is 3. Melt my heart. He is going to be such a good daddy.
  • Guess who else is great with kids? Wrigley was such a good sport and loved all of the attention. He was SO exhausted the next day!
  • We saw The Avengers on Sunday. It was just as expected….sort of stupid action movie. It’s a renter.
  • The husband found some super cute baby toys at a garage sale. Adorable.
  • These are all kinds of awesome. Go out and get some right now! You won’t be sorry.
  • I finally caved and bought Fifty Shades of Grey. Super excited to start reading and see what all the hype is about.
  • I’m going to try and do the Photo a Day May Challenge. I majorly failed in March….who’s with me? You can find me on instagram at girlintheredshoes.
How was your weekend?

My hubby and I are thinking about buying a kayak too! Hope you love 50 Shades of Grey! The first book is really good, but just remember that the 2nd and 3rd are WAY better! 🙂

Kayaks!!! love it! Billy has one too and we've been talking about getting another so I can go with him. Our friend has one so we would just borrow his for the time being but I think we want to for sure get another here soon. So fun!

I haven't caved into 50 yet but keep hearing crazy things about it!!

Those pictures of the hubby and the kids on the kayaks are so sweet! And Wrigley…gah looks like you've got two men who are ready to be there for your new little man 🙂 Good to know about Avengers….I've been debating on seeing it but I don't like going to the theater unless it's something I am dying to see…so thanks! 🙂

I am very curious about your review on Fifty Shades of Grey. I need to finish my current book so I can move on to it!

Also – has your "JCREW" necklace arrived from eBay yet? I ordered mine today and am so excited to get it. Hope it doesn't take 3 months to get here from China. ha.

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
