Wedding Reception and Honeymoon

Once again, Kelly from Kelly’s Korner is hosting Show Us Your Life. This week it is your wedding reception and honeymoon. Make sure you stop by her site to see some beautiful receptions!
Here is our head table. I love how I am turned to talk to the girls and the husband is turned to talk to the boys!

My fabulous maid of honor, Erin, giving her speech.

The card box that my mom made…she is so talented. She gets the credit for so many of the little details that made the wedding special.

Another cute detail courtesy of my mom: little flags that she made!

Yummy caramel apples were our favors. They were a big hit!

Cutting the cake!

I remember being worried that the husband was going to smash the cake in my face….he didn’t, smart guy. This was the only piece of cake we actually had time to eat. Luckily my mom saved some for us that we snacked on just before leaving on our honeymoon the next day. It was so good!

I love this picture. Me and the husband going in for a kiss, and Danny, the best man, leaning in too!

The bridal party dance. Hilarious. We danced to “At Long Last Love” by Frank Sinatra, which is one of my favorite songs.

I don’t remember this happening…but I am not at all surprised.

Me and the husband. We danced to “They Way You Look Tonight” by Tony Bennett because the husband always sings that song to me (except he prefers the Frank Sinatra version). I heart him.

For our honeymoon we went to Sedona, Arizona and had a wonderful time relaxing, getting massages, and hiking. I wrote more about it here and here. Thanks for stopping by!

Your pics are so lovely, I especially love the details. The Card Box your mom made is so nice and I love the colors you choose, similar to mine. Thanks for sharing.

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
