To Black Friday or Not To Black Friday?

Do you go shopping on Black Friday? I’m usually more of a day-after-Christmas shopper myself. Black Friday is typically reserved for picking out our Christmas tree, drinking hot chocolate, and decorating the house. But this year I’m not so sure. I keep hearing about the amazing deals people find on Black Friday. And I really need  a new coffee maker. Scratch that, I really need two coffee makers. I broke ours. Then I broke my sister-in-law’s too. So anyway I’m torn. What about you? Is Black Friday shopping a must for you or would you rather stay home? Have you ever gotten amazing deals on stuff? Is it really worth braving the crowds?

I am definitely the kind to stay home on Black Friday. It's crazy out there and I'm pretty sure the deals will still be there for awhile to come! ha

Lol, I posted the same pic on my blog about Black Friday yesterday… I debated about not going this year but I really have gotten some amazing deals. I got a coffee maker at Target a few years ago for like $20 and it is normally $40-$50, I think (still works too)? Last year I went and got 95% of my Christmas shopping done. Yes, the crowds are a little insane but I always just laugh the whole time. I mean, how crazy are we to get up at 4am to shop? If you go, please post your deals!

Goodness….how are you breaking all these coffee makers when you don't even drink coffee? I vote for shopping on line unless you can get the husband to get up at 3 am and go with you!! Actually, I hear some stores are opening at midnight on Thanksgiving so you can just stay up late!

I got a good deal a few years ago on a camera + lenses, but I didn't get up really early to get it.

Two years ago, my mom got a REALLY good deal on my diamond earrings, so she got up to get them.

In the last two years, I haven't seen anything worth fighting the crowds for. Occasionally, there's something we think we need to get up and get, but not usually.

The ads aren't looking promising this year either.

I'm working but I would have braved an hour or two of shopping if I wasn't…. but not an all-day marathon. Too crazy.

I've done the Black Friday crowds before, but I usually feel like I could have found the same deals at just a regular sale. So I would say, no! Just keep an eye out for the coffee makers in ads and grab them over the weekend. Enjoy your hot chocolate celebrating 🙂

    Happy Thanksgiving!!

I'm black Friday-ing it up this year for the first time! Suprisingly enough, it was the fiance's idea!! ((he wants a new tv…)) I'm all about good deals I just hate that you have to wake up so dang early! Oh well…good luck if you end up going & Happy Thanksgiving!

Firstly, I worked at a Kohl's store for 2.5 years, and I can tell you that the sale prices on Black Friday weren't any better than the prices for any other sale, it's just hype and pre Christmas shopping insanity.
Secondly, remember this: http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/11/28/2008-11-28_worker_dies_at_long_island_walmart_after.html A sale is NEVER worth someone's life, and I refuse to shop on Black Friday in memory of this employee, who lost his life due to the greed of people who couldn't be bothered to stop shopping even after he was dead.

I have gone shopping on BF for years! It's one of my family's favorite traditions! This year Jake and I needed a memory foam bed topper. And I got an epic deal from Kohls. I love getting up early for it and all the people. I just think it's fun!
