Thursday Confessions

These are my confessions……in bullet list form.
– I’ve succumbed to the julie-stress trifecta, in which I don’t get enough sleep, forget to wash my hair, and eat a few too many bowls of ice cream. So you can imagine what that trio has done for my self-esteem.

– My theory is if you dress for fall, it will come. Today it’s only going to be 60 degrees….so it worked! Also, time to clean my mirror.

– If it fits in the dishwasher, it goes in the dishwasher. #NoTimeForDirtyDishes

– I dropped a bottle of red nail polish on our carpet. And on myself. In my panic to clean up the carpet I somehow got nail polish in my armpit. MY ARMPIT. And in case you were wondering, there is no easy way to clean red nail polish out of carpet. I ended up cutting out the individual fibers that were stained red. And had my husband wipe down my armpit with nail polish remover. I’m sure when he said “I do” he never imagined what that would eventually entail.

– I still haven’t taken Hudson’s 2 year photos. In my defense, the week leading up to his birthday he had a black eye. And this week it has been really rainy. And how many more excuses do I need before I hire a professional to do them for me?
– Hudson’s 2 year photo book also hasn’t been started yet. Neither has his 1 year photo book. Someone please make them for me?
– I just finished The Fault in Our Stars. Holy tears.

– In all seriousness, in July my husband and I faced the reality that I might loose my job due to “right-sizing”….which caused an unwanted amount of stress in our lives, and also made us make some big changes in our spending. Unfortunately it also made me say yes probably a few too many times to sponsored content here on the blog, and for that I apologize. It is not my intention at all to have so much sponsored content, and for those of you who commented on those posts anyway, I am sending you a big fat hug. Thank you for being loyal readers and sticking with me when times are tough. Sponsored content helps provide for my little family and justify the time it takes to post here 5 times a week. If you blog regularly, you know how much time that is! The job stress also caused me to say no to a few of you who wanted to do birthday gift swaps, guest posts etc. Thank you all for being so understanding. My goal is to get back to what I love about blogging, which is relationship building. Commenting on blogs, replying to comments, and finding and connecting with other bloggers is truly my passion. And God provides. People I work with read this blog, but if you want to know details about my work situation, please email me. #ChangeIsGood #ThingsAreLookingUp

– Big two year old boys get to finally face forward in the car. And Hudson is loving it. Also, Buzz goes with us everywhere…I am now on the hunt for a bath time appropriate Buzz and also a bedtime Buzz….because both have become a struggle when Buzz can’t join him. Send reinforcements please.

First, ummm I now have TWO kids and have yet to make my first her books – so you are ahead of my game. Stress eating ice cream is my jam too! Totally eating a pop tart (so much for that whole30) b.c. my toddler SCREAMED NO SCHOOL MOMMY for the whole car ride and then I had to pry her little fingers off me when I dropped her off – breaks this mommy heart!

Not to mention I'm sure your perhaps a tad sick n tired of buzz'a sounds. One 6 hour road trip with buzz and I was ready to pull his batteries! Check the disney store! I saw some awesome bed time buzz's in there this week! Bath time buzz might be more difficult 🙂

I want to come take Hudson's pictures!! I miss that little guy– even if I only met him once!

Girl, I have Dominick's one year book almost finished and haven't even thought about his two year book yet. If I could hire someone to make this exactly how I want it I totally would.

I loved the fault in our stars and as always I did not love the movie nearly as much. 🙁

I'm glad things are looking up in the job situation. 😀

I'm glad things are looking up at work 🙂 That kind of stress makes it really hard to find the room and energy for the extras you enjoy (like blogging)! And I think most people can understand the need / allure of the sponsored posts. I know I do! You put a lot of time into this blog, and no one should look down on you (or any of us) for earning something in return for your time. xoxox Big hugs to you my friend!

Love your honesty! We can all bare through a few sponsored posts, especially if it's helping out your family! Glad to hear things are better now! 🙂

Can't even imagine the stress that comes along with job uncertainty. Glad things are looking up!! And if it makes you feel any better…I never did Ethan's first year book (or second year book) either! Oops!

So glad things are looking up at work! I understand taking on sponsored posts as additional income, I do the same. Alot of bloggers can rock sponsored posts, you are definitely one of them! I know the Disney Store has some plush Buzz Lightyears for bedtime, I would be glad to send him one if you do not have a store nearby!!

Oh, this was so REAL! I feel you on the ice cream – that's my go-to dinner when life is just too much. So sorry about the ice cream… it does make for a funny story! I swear the kiddos know when pictures are coming up and always get bruised, scraped etc. Sending happy thoughts to you…

I'm so glad things are looking up for you!!! I totally get the stress of the unknown….if you find bath/bed time Buzz, please let me know!! I found Woody in Cam's crib and almost died thinking about his pointy boot going into his eye or something! Bad mom!

Hire a professional for the pictures..it's always worth it!

And, welcome, fall. 🙂 Love your outfit!!!

I feel like I could copy/paste a bunch of these for myself! Ice cream nightly…haven't finished a photobook since Jack's newborn pics and he's almost 2…and dealing with bath/nighttime and ALL THE TOYS!

This is my first time commenting but I've been following for a while…always love your tips with Hudson as I have a little redhead boy about 2mo younger 🙂 You point about getting back to commenting and connecting via blogging inspired me to finally say hi!

I'm so glad that things are better at work – I can only imagine how stressful that must have been! And listen, sponsored posts or not, you do what you have to for your little family, and your readers will understand – so no worries there:) Loving your fall outfit, and hoping that some of your cool weather will blow on down here to Georgia, as we are MORE than ready for it!

I spilled paint in our office when we were almost done remodeling it… I thought Matt was going to kill me but luckily I acted pretty quick enough & got most of it up. So stressful though!! I hate to hear about your job situation! I'm glad though that things are looking up for y'all!! Hoooow can Hudson be 2 though!?!? How!?

Love your honesty and your blog! Happy things are looking up and totally understand. And your fall outfit is too, too cute!!! I'm working on that "dress for fall and it will come" here in Houston, but so far nothing!

You always crack me up. 🙂 I'm the same way about the dishes, too. I always have to rearrange that thing to make my sink empty without me having to wash by hand.

And girl, you rock your sponsored posts! I always think, "Yes! That is the way it should be done!" 😉 You are amazing. I'll be singing from the rooftops when I get my first sponsored post, so I definitely get it.

Cheers to things looking up! Hope they get better with each passing day.

P.S. I just purchased some fall clothes from Target in hopes that we'll get some fall weather soon. Houston is still steamy. 🙁 But I do like how you think. I'm going to adopt that attitude. Love that army green on you. 😉

I totally get the stress eating…I may or may not be eating a cake ball from Whole Foods right now. And by that, I mean it's no longer on my desk….

That said, I'm glad your work situation is getting better. I did see something new workwise pop up for you somewhere (LinkedIn maybe?) so hopefully that was news! Work stress is never fun of any kind and can seriously permeate so much of your life.

Also, Abbie has no baby books. Well, she has the one your write in, but I think I only wrote in it the week she was born and that's it. Sorry kiddo, your baby book is my blog.

Hope today is a better day for you! (Also, end longest comment ever.)

I have to say you rock your sponsor posts, they're never too gimmicky! 🙂

I'll keep following regardless, It's hard to pass up opportunities to make a little $$ when you commit so much time to blogging! You're doing a great job! xo

I can understand your stress about job loss. I lost mine back in June and it's been a real struggle. Thankfully my dad is willing to help us out a bit and I have decided on a career change. I just can't imagine leaving Ellie anymore so I'm looking into becoming a nanny!

I think it's so cool how we can make our blogs "work" for us. I wish I could have more sponsorships come my way to help out!

Ugh, I did that with nail polish and still see the pink smudge in the carpet.
I know all about job layoffs as we've been through several. I hope things are less stressful for you now. I always remind myself, you have your health and family. It will be ok.

I just died a little inside thinking about spilling red nail polish on the carpet… and my arm pit. LOL.

I totally hear you on the sponsored content thing. I am taking 4 weeks unpaid for maternity leave so I can stay longer with Caroline, so taking on sponsored posts is something I really need to do at this point! Glad things are looking up for you!

This post had me doing huge belly laughs!! You are a girl after my own heart. I too have a two year old, have yet to take his 2 year old pics or make a baby book. While cleaning out our hall closet last week, I had a melt down how I have failed my youngest because not a single baby book has been made. But you know what, I'd rather spend my precious time hanging out with him playing good guys and bad guys, his new favorite game thanks to older brothers, then making a baby book. Guess it will get done when his off to college.
Thanks for the honesty! It's refreshing!

Higher ed and jobs can be so stressful bc it takes so long for decisions to be made! Sending you some hugs! Glad to hear things are looking up and hopefully in the right way. You should've have to apologize for your blog content – sponsored or otherwise. You do a great job with both and with juggling all else that you do!
