The World’s Longest Kitchen Makeover

photo IMG_6579.jpgFile this project under done! Also under the world’s longest kitchen makeover….ever. Turns out starting a kitchen project when you are 7 months pregnant means it will take FOREVER to finish. Hudson sort of slowed us down big time…..but my kitchen is finally done!
Here’s a reminder of what she looked like when we moved in…..
photo DSC_0960.jpgAh, it hurts my eyes to look at it….the cabinets cast a orange glow on everything. For everyone who told me I was crazy to paint my cabinets white…..here’s a big fat told you so!
photo DSC_0454_zps29260ac8.jpgAnd here it is a few months later! You can read about the progress here. After the cabinets were white we replaced the counter tops with granite and then my mom and husband installed the beadboard back splash. All that was left was to paint the walls….it just took me forever to do it!
photo IMG_6588.jpgAnd I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out!
photo IMG_6583.jpgIt’s so much brighter in here now!
 photo IMG_6593.jpg
The walls are Comfort Grey by Sherwin Williams. It is the perfect grey meets green meets blue you’ve ever seen.
 photo IMG_6582.jpg
The cabinets and back splash are Simply White by Benjamin Moore….also known as the most perfect white ever.
 photo IMG_6594.jpg
photo IMG_6601.jpgSo there you have it! The easiest 2 year kitchen makeover project ever!

You and Leah are so similar. She just finished her kitchen a week before baby William arrived. Both kitchens went from wood to white and both of you have beautiful boys!

White kitchens are the best!! My FIL always makes comments about how I comment on houses we look at and say that the kitchen needs to be painted white. He's a purist when it comes to wood and I prefer white. Good thing I don't have to live with him!

ps. I'm hosting a a giveaway on my blog for a pair of freshly picked moccs.
