Since we are building a new house, it was time for us to move out of our current home. We were lucky enough to get to stay living there while we had Sadie and broke ground on our new home….but the day I was dreading came soon enough….it was time to say goodbye. I was dreading move out day because moving (and packing) with two young children is the worst. But I was also dreading it because I knew I would be so sad to leave. We lived there for over six years and made so many memories. Ultimately the house layout wasn’t the best for our growing family and there were many things we wanted to change about it..but that doesn’t mean we didn’t love our house!
We completed updated the kitchen with new appliances, backsplash, granite counters, and painted the cabinets white.
I still love this kitchen.
Living room….where we spent most of our time.
Family room. In the new house we have more of an open floor plan, which I love. But it was kind of nice to have two living spaces.
Master bedroom.
Hudson’s room.
It was hard for me to pack this room up….I remember putting this room together for him when I was pregnant and dreaming of the little boy he would one day become. You can see more of Hudson’s room when it was set up as a nursery here.
Sadie’s room was hard to pack up too…but when we were decorating it we knew we would be moving soon….so I didn’t get as attached. You can see more of her nursery here.
Guest room.
We will miss our house and our neighbors so much. I wish we could move and take all our neighbors with us…they are seriously the best. I’m praying that we get lucky at the new house and meet some amazing people.
We are almost all moved in to our temporary place….my mom’s house! We will live here until the new house is ready….can’t wait! Stay tuned for more building a house adventures and I promise to answer all your building questions!
I'm sure that was so hard! I had a really hard time saying goodbye to our teeny townhouse because of all the memories! I'm so excited for you guys and can't wait to see what you do with your new home!
Beautiful house!!! I know how hard it must be to say goodbye to the home you bring both of your kids home to and have so many memories. Best of luck with the packing because I know that is the worst part 🙁 Your new home is going to be so gorgeous!
Oh wow your house is gorgeous!!! 🙂
Just think of all the new memories to be made.
beautiful! but think about how many more memories you'll make in the new home!!!
I've has to say goodbye to one house already and it is so tough! But the best is yet to come! Enjoy all the helping hands at your mom's house while you can!
I'm sure it is so hard to say good bye to your beautiful home! So many memories were made, but you'll make so many more in your new home too. I can't wait to hear more about the building process!
Looks like a great house but so exciting with what you have on your horizon!!
What a beautiful home you had! Treasure those memories as I am sure you will have new ones in your new home. Can't wait to see the final product.
What a beautiful home (you are quite the decorator!). But soooo exciting for new memories to come! XO
I can't imagine how hard it must be! But you guys will get to make so many new memories in your new space. Beautiful home!
Aww how bitter-sweet! I can only imagine what it will feel like when it comes time for us to move out of our house. On to bigger & better things though!!
Awww, moving takes such an emotional toll! On one hand, you're so excited for the next chapter-the decorating, the memories to be made, the new space and freedom. But, on the other hand, you're sad to close the door on the last chapter! I feel for ya, sister! Sending many prayers your way for a smooth and joyful move! Good luck.
Such a beautiful home 🙂 we are kind of in the same position, our home isn't ideal for our growing family but it works and although there are a million things we want to change we love it. It's just a house but the memories and time spent here makes it our home. I'm sure it's not easy moving with two little ones and building but it'll be all worth it! Can't wait to follow along with the new build!
I love your kitchen! Your whole house is so nice! I'm sure your new home will be so much better for you all, but I can understand how it can be hard leaving a home you have grown to love so much. Can't wait to see the new house when it's all finished!
Your house is gorgeous!!! I'm sure you have tons of memories in your old house, but there will be so many more in your new house that will make it just as special! Can't wait to follow along with your building journey 🙂
What a beautiful home. I am excited to see your new home and decor! xo
Beautiful home and amazing job decorating! I cannot wait to see your new house! 🙂
Your home is (was?) gorgeous. You'll always have the memories!! Stunning pictures though – Pinterest worthy fo' sho.
That had to be so difficult to say goodbye!
i'm going to miss that gorgeous house of yours too. BUT i cant wait to come visit and see the new one 🙂
We are planning on leaving our house of 10+ years next spring. We've had three babies here and I can't imagine leaving! I hope the new house brings as many wonderful memories as the old! I love the fixture over the table – is it an update you did? I need to update ours!
I know exactly how you feel! We just moved this week ourselves. We, too, had been in the house over 6 years and brought two kiddos home to it – including our baby boy this past February. I know I'll always remember our first house because of all the wonderful memories but we are definitely excited to be in our "forever home!" I'm sure you will be so happy in your new home! Good luck!
P.S. I give you credit for moving twice! Once was nightmare enough for us with two small kids, two dogs and a cat. I have said about a bazillion times this week – I'm never moving again! Lol!
