Sadie Mae: 5 Months

File this down as the fastest 5 months of my life. I know I say it every time, but time is flying by. At the same time, I can’t imagine life without this sweet girl.

Sadie weighs 18 pounds and is 26 inches tall! (which is one pound less than Hudson at this age, and the same height). She wears mostly size 9 month pjs but can still squeeze in to some of her 6 month clothing. And my dreams of her re-wearing some of Hudson’s old (6 month size) Christmas pjs have been dashed. Oh well…perfect excuse to buy more, right? And let’s be real….these jammies are already on the way to both kids. Hudson had the same pair two years ago and they are my most favorite pjs ever. Can’t wait.

Sadie has been all over the place with her sleep habits. For a good part of the month she was sleeping 9:30pm-6:30am with an occasional wake up here and there. Basically a GOLD STAR sleeper. The time change threw us for a loop but helped me get her to bed a lot earlier….like around 7/7:30. But this girl is dang tired at the end of the day and needs to sleep…but she doesn’t want to miss a thing so she keeps herself up! She started refusing to go to bed (like would sleep for 20 minutes then scream) and we would do that for about 3 hours. The worst! And then she started waking up 3-5 times at night. Last night, however, she slept 7:30pm-5:30am….so hopefully she’s back on track!

Oh and she still is a little cat napper. I totally don’t get how she doesn’t just pass out at the end of the day from exhaustion. But girlfriend has a big brother who is BUSY ALL THE TIME to watch and she can’t take her eyes off him. One minute Hudson will be so sweet with her and bring her toys…and the next minute he’s in tears because “her touching me!” or “her putting my toy in her mouth!” It’s not all rainbows and butterflies over here.

Sadie LOVES to eat, snuggle, jump in her jumperoo, steal her brother’s toys, and roll across the room. And she has major heart eyes for mama…..which is good because I’ve got major heart eyes right back at her. She reaches for me when someone else holds her…and it is just the sweetest thing ever. She HATES napping, being left alone in a room, and watching us eat at the dinner table. Homegirl just wants to do everything we do and it makes her so mad she can’t eat like the rest of us.

Sadie is just the sweetest little girl and we are so incredibly thankful for her. She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes.

Just posted Avalon's five month update today! They sound so much alike – no naps, obsessed with big sis – but Avalon is at the other end the scale! Still just 13 pounds and in 0-3 mostly, haha! I swear I feed her! 😉

    She is precious, Julie!

She is precious…I can totally see why mama has heart eyes for her! 🙂 And isn't it funny how those little sisters look up to their big brothers? If she is anything like my little gal, she will be passing on the baby dolls and reaching for brother's tractors and trucks.
