Random thoughts on Thursday…

Are you excited for the Royal Wedding tomorrow? I sure am! Now I know I won’t be getting up at 4:00 a.m. to watch it, but I will probably record it and watch it later. It is history after all, right? All of the media attention has started to get annoying…especially when they flip out over Kate being seen with her hair up….”does this mean she’ll wear her hair up for the wedding??” Give the girl a break and let her wear her hair up once in a while…geesh!
And I used to have a HUGE crush on Prince William when I was in high school…..scratch that, I still have a huge crush on him. I even named my rabbit after him. Prince William was the best bunny ever.
Although I might actually think Prince Harry is cuter now….and of course I love his red hair.

In other news, I’ve recently become obsessed with Oprah’s Behind the Scenes show on the Oprah Network. Basically it is just Oprah and her staff talking about how they plan the shows and then of course they show you….you know…what goes on behind the scenes. Hence the name. Anyway, it is full of drama and so addicting! Oprah is hilarious and seeing her with her staff just makes me lover her even more. I had the husband cracking up when I was describing things Oprah said. He later told me that he was really only laughing and my crazy good Oprah impression…ha!

Also, did anyone watch The Voice this week? The husband came across it while flipping channels and I got sucked in. I’ve never been a fan of talent shows but for some reason I kind of liked this one. The “coaches” are Blake Shelton (love him!), Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine. And I have no idea who Cee Lo is….

Anyway, moving on. Some of you asked for the jello recipe I used for Easter…so here you go! It’s really easy and delicious. In my family we eat this with our main meal on holidays, even though it could technically be considered a dessert. It goes either way!

Pretzel layer
2 cups broken pretzels
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup melted butter
Mix together and pres into pan.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 400.
Let cool completely.
Cream Cheese layer
16oz cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
8oz Cool Whip
Cream together and carefully spread over pretzel layer
Strawberry layer
1 large package sugar-free strawberry jello
2 cups boiling water
20oz frozen strawberries cut in half
Dissolve jello in boiling water and add frozen strawberries.
Stir until the jello just starts to thicken, then spread on top of cream cheese layer
Refrigerate at least 2 hours…enjoy!

This dessert looks WAY TOO DELICIOUS. Must make asap.

As for The Voice – I'm totally obsessed. I told myself it wasn't going to be any good… but it is! I think the judges are hilarious!

I'm excited for the Royal Wedding… I think I might get up at 5 and watch. 4 is just crazy pants and will probably be boring.

And yes, I love me some Oprah. Hilarious!

Omgah girl! Cee Lo sings "F You" The song Gwyneth did for Glee? It's amazing! You have to listen. I too think Harry is the hotter one now…but I also have a thing for Ginger's….oops…maybe that's why I like you so much! Just kidding…!

Erin and I are shooting a wedding tomorrow, so we won't be getting up at 4 to watch it either, but you can bet it's on the DVR. And poor Wills – what happened to him?? Harry is definitely cuter now! I was convinced I was going to be Princess Sara of Wales. 🙂

I hate singing reality shows, but we got sucked into the Voice too!!!

Oh, and LOVE Blake Shelton. He's performing at the Dallas Summer Musicals gala next weekend, so we get to see him in a really small venue! Super excited about that!!

I loved The Voice! I've heard of Blake Shelton but don't know his music. He sure is a cutie! Adam Levine too. Some nice eye candy on that show.

I LOVE that pretzel salad. A coworker's wife makes it for our annual Thanksgiving Potluck at the office and I always look forward to it. I might have to make some to enjoy before then. 🙂

Um, I'm sorry, did someone say Royal Wedding? Yes, I will be up bright and early watching it. My DVR broke and they shipped me a new one, but, it isn't here yet so I have no way of recording it! Ahhhh! So, there will be lots of Diet Coke in my future tomorrow 🙂

Saw the Voice this week. I loved it. It was so funny to see the celebs fighting over the people auditioning. Also on Behind the Scenes isn't it funny to see Oprah without music.
