Picture-less Monday

Good morning everyone! I took zero pictures this weekend. I hate posting without pictures so you’ll just have to bare with me. On Saturday the husband and I went tubing down a river with friends. I really wanted to bring my camera but the husband was worried it might get ruined. He was probably right. We floated down a river and were all tied together. Just picture me in a big floppy hat and sunglasses floating around in a huge tube. Priceless. The trip was almost 5 hours, so needless to say afterwards we were exhausted. The husband went to bed (maybe the fact that we drank for almost 5 hours had something to do with that) and I watched The Last Song. So not as good as the book (by Nicholas Sparks), but somehow I still managed to cry!
I also finished reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Go get this book right now. You’ll thank me later. It was so amazing! I usually get my books from the library, however, when I went to reserve the second book in the series, Catching Fire, there were 50 holds on it. Dang! So I broke down and ordered it and the third book, Mockingjay which comes out tomorrow, off of Amazon. I hope they arrive soon! I’m obsessed and need to know what happens next!
On Sunday the husband and I went to Costco. I heart Costco. Then I made some ridiculously yummy homemade macaroni and cheese, did some laundry, and then we watched the move Kick Ass…which was surprisingly funny and stupid at the same time
I hope your weekend was great!

Everyone I know in TX is obsessed with floating the river… I've never participated in it. Some parts sound appealing, others not so much! 🙂

Thanks for the reminder to use my library. There's one within walking distance of boyfriend's apartment… so I should make that happen!

I was super disappointed with the Last Song…different from the book and I think Miley did a terrible job. I'm going to look up the Hunger Games right now! And I think you should post the mac'n cheese recipe. Just sayin…

#ad It’s that time of year! Time to make sure yo #ad It’s that time of year! Time to make sure your child is up to date on their well-child visits and vaccines! As the chief advocate for my kids, I always want to make decisions that are the best for them and for our family. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for these little loves of mine, and I know all of you can relate! That is why I vaccinate my kids. Vaccinating your child is one of the safest and most effective things you can do to protect them against serious preventable diseases. If you live in Michigan like we do, it’s time to schedule that well-child visit and make sure your kids are up to date on their vaccinations! I’ve done a lot of research and talked to our pediatrician at length about what is best for my family and I would encourage you to do so too. It’s normal to have questions—it makes you a good parent! But make sure you are getting answers from credible sources. Remember, vaccines are safe, effective, and help protect everyone. Ultimately I decided to vaccinate my children because not doing so puts them at risk of contracting a potentially deadly disease. I want the best for my kids. If you have questions or need a reliable resource, check out @IVaccinateMI for information and tools based on real medical science and research to help Michigan parents protect their kids from vaccine-preventable diseases.
