We have a little swim lesson graduate on our hands! I can’t say that Hudson actually enjoyed swim lessons….but he didn’t hate them either! Of course he can’t swim yet. But he did learn to close his eyes when he goes under water!
Daddy did most of the swim lessons with Hudson, which was just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I think next year we’ll try the type of swim lesson that teaches kids to float on their back in case they accidentally fall in to the water. Has anyone tried this with their kids? My mom has a lake house so we spend a lot of time near the water….and I’m super paranoid of Hudson jumping in to the lake one day!
But don’t you worry…mommy got to join in the swim lesson fun too! But I had to wait until I found a cute one piece swimsuit! I don’t think I’ve had a one piece since I worked at a kids camp in college. And now that I’m a mom, I need to cover up a little more…especially when I’m around kiddos. Luckily I was sent this beautiful suit by Lisa Curran! Perfect timing! They sent met the Juliette in Jewel Green and I love it! It’s totally not your average “mom” swimsuit! I love the cut of the suit. It’s cut a little bit low in the front…so be careful of little grabby hands that might make accidentally show off the goods to everyone. I didn’t have this problem, thankfully!
It was perfect for swim lessons! And no, you won’t find a full body picture of me in a swimsuit just yet. Maybe next year….
Thankfully I was also sent this beautiful Amelie Floral Boyfriend Shirt! This could be used as a swim cover-up or you could wear it to work like me! I am in LOVE with this top! I’ve received so many compliments each time I wear it. I don’t wear much yellow so it’s totally out of the box for me…but I’m officially obsessed with it!
Swim lessons are over?! We looked into the float on your back thing- but the closest one is an hour away- AND you have to take them every day for 6 weeks…we want lex to have fun in the water- and figure she's supervised a lot. Love the yellow top! And you look so good!
You look so great!! You should definitely wear more yellow…looks awesome on you!
CUTE! Both you and your little fish!
Aww so cute! And I bought some 1-piece bathing suits this year too, didn't want to be that mom in a bikini and I'm prego and not comfortable showing the bump. Luckily I was able to squeeze the bump into normal sized Old Navy suits, so I can wear them again next year! Love the one you have, so cute and the cover up is an even better top!
Both are so cute! I'm sure you would still look fantastic in a bikini though 🙂
Swimming lessons is such a good idea because that is also a fear of mine! Same here when it comes to the one peice! This is my first year wearing one but hopefully next year I will have the extra baby weight shed by then!
I was recently introduced to Lisa Curran as well…that top is adorable! And congrats to H on being a swim lesson grad!
I've been looking for swim classes for my little man as well! & I love that one piece! It's so hard to find nice covered swim suits that little ones won't pull off lol!
My sister-in-law did the survival type swim lessons – where they learn to float on their back – with both of my nephews. They didn't love it at first but, I'm convinced it's the best thing they could have done! The boys are literally little fish now (lessons were 2 summers ago) but, they haven't forgotten any of it! Yaay Hudson for graduating swim lessons!!
Yellow is your color, sweet friend! You look great in it:)
That swimsuit is great! I borrowed a tankini for my son's swimming lessons, but I think I need a one-piece too.
Pretty sure you're rockin' that bikini! Wish I could wear suits like that on top (or tops for that matter) however I would be spilling out of them – and not in a good way!
girl, you could rock a bikini! you are tiny! but that one piece is really cute and a great color!
I love that yellow top. Yellow looks lovely on you!
That little baby belly in the swim trunks. I could die! So cute! Love that suit on you!
SWIM LESSONS! I love it! 🙂 So cute!!!
We're in South Florida, so swim is a HUGE deal! We had Ethan signed up at 7 months, but with his asthma and the chlorine, we had to pull him out around the time he turned a year. He was FINALLY (at two) cleared to start up again. The first time, we used a really aggressive kind of swim lesson that was all dunk-and-survive and he HATED it. HATED. He's such a sweet, sweet, shy boy, and the "think fast" aspect of the class was horrible for him. Some of his friends and classmates truly excelled! I think it depends on their personality as it develops for sure.
Right now we're doing a very gentle swim class where each kid moves at their own pace, and after 6 classes, he's already jumping in, swimming underwater and a total fish! The slower pace has worked WAY better for him, and he likes the gentle approach.
I've heard good things about the harsher, faster survival type classes, but they weren't for my little guy. It just made him terrified of the water as opposed to wanting to swim and learn. Totally depends on the personality, I think!
