One fish, two fish, plaid fish

photo IMG_8039.jpgThis past weekend we headed up to my mom’s lake cottage to help celebrate her birthday….and to get our little fishy some lake action. Last time we took Hudson in the boat he hated his life jacket…but this time, he wanted to wear it non-stop. Even inside. Little stinker
photo IMG_8046.jpgMy husband and I were helping my mom get her kayak in the water and when I turned around, Hudson was in the canoe, serious model face on, and ready to G-O! (p.s…do you think he is wearing enough colors?)
He did great in the canoe with mommy and daddy until, just like last time, he declared it “ALL DONE!” and my husband had to race the boat back to shore.
photo IMG_8020.jpgThe rest of the weekend was spent roasting marshmallows, riding bikes, playing in the sand, and most importantly….
photo IMG_8031.jpg…pointing out all the fishies in the lake. Hudson has a new found love for sea lake creatures. He counted them “2, 3, 9″….which, hello, melt my heart.
photo IMG_8015.jpgAnd I tried not to have a heart attack every time this happened. Which was a lot!

Time at the lake sounds wonderful! I love that he wanted to keep his lifejacket on! We ran into a similar thing this weekend with a bike helmet- Reese didn't want to take hers off 🙂

2, 3, 9! Love it. I think you could squeeze a few more colours in there no problem =) Aria and I were just out on the pier and I thought she'd love watching the fish swim by. But, mostly uninterested. The fisher peoples though, man were they interesting. You know, people, don't see those every day or anything.

Be still my heart, your little man is just so adorable. And all boy! I love seeing what Hudson is up to, because I know that it will just be a few short months and then Caleb will be doing the same things:) These boys sure keep us on our toes!

He is so, so cute! I love how he got down on his belly to get as close as he could to the water to check out what was going on. So curious!
PS I would have a heart attack if Mason did that too!

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
