Name that Baby….BOY Edition!

Don’t worry, we still don’t know if we are having a boy or a girl…but friends, I need your help! Baby #2 will be here before we know it, and sense we don’t know the gender, this babying naming business is even harder, because we need a boy name and a girl name! So that’s where you come in…..I would love to hear your favorite boy names!

 photo RenAug13_23.jpg
When we were having our first sweet boy, on our list was:
1. Hudson
2. Harrison
3. ???
And I’m sure there were more names on the list but neither of us can remember. Obviously we went with our #1 pick for HUDSON! And although I still love Harrison, I’m not crazy about double H names. So I need some more fun names to add to our list!

 photo RenAug13_26.jpg
So….let me hear your boy name suggestions that would go well with Hudson. I seriously can’t wait!

(p.s. how cute are these one-year-old Hudson ALL BOY photos? I can’t believe he’s already 2 and a half!)

Our boy names were Noah (which has an H and the end…) and Gavin, but we had little Hallie instead! 🙂

Love this! 🙂 How exciting that you aren't finding out baby's gender. I think I want to do that next time around 🙂

Our boys are Jonah Alexander and Luca John.

Other names I loved and that were on our list are:
    – Ezra
    – Judah
    – Simon
    – Harrison 🙂
    – Nash

    Good luck!

Our number one and only name for Noah was Noah. I love Liam, Jack, Nate, and I would totally name another boy Luke if it wasn't my brother's name! Have fun coming up with names!

  9. Lisa from @intotheglade says

    March 20, 2015 at 12:58 pm

Oh this is fun! We didn't know the sex of either of our babies and the only name we could agree on was a boys name Dominic. We had a Gabriella, that we sort of decided together and then eventually Evangeline, I definitely did not choose that one ha! So we never ended up using the one name we both liked. Hudson is such a good name for finding something to match!

  10. Katie says

    March 20, 2015 at 12:59 pm

Oh I loooove this. I've been making baby name lists for as long as I can remember! Unfortunately, with my newly married last name of "King," several have had to be crossed off because of easily first names can flow into that as a last name, like Jack (thank you to my husband for pointing out that Jack King would likely get an unfortunate lifelong nickname…)

Wells, Hayes, Brooks, Declan, Benjamin (Ben), Sullivan, Callahan (Cal), Finn, Cohen, John Patrick (gotta get a good double name in there!)

  11. Cat & James says

    March 20, 2015 at 1:13 pm

We have a Chase and an Asher. Other names we debated were Ashton, and Liam. We plan on #3 at some point and I have a feeling we are in for all boys. Other names on our list are Kellan, Carter, Keenan, Carson. I also like the name Kasen but is too close to Chase

I'm having a boy! and we don't have a name, so I love this 🙂 Names on our list so far: Cole, Holden, Grady.

I love coming up with names! My sister and I have lists for when we get married and become moms! My favorite boy names are: Marcus, Malachi, Luke, and Scott!

Aww so fun! I have a friend who's boys are Hudson & Luke! You could always do Lucas & use Luke for short if you wanted. I love the names Tucker, Cameron & Carter also!

  15. Jen Gordon says

What's more fun than talking names?!! 🙂 I've been following along since you were pregnant with Hudson, I have a son a few months older than him & am also expecting another baby boy in a few weeks!! My older son is Christian Blake & our newest baby will be Ryan Hunter (so those are obv. my absolute favs lol!) My other favorite boys names are Tristan, Gavin, Cayden, Colin, Noah & Preston. Good luck & major props to you guys for staying strong and not finding out!! 🙂

We knew all along we were having a girl — Adrienne–and it was a good thing because my husband and i could NOT agree on a boy name. My favorites are Nate (Nathan or Nathaniel), Owen, Ethan, Andrew and Christopher. Good luck!

I found it so much harder this time around too and I even know what baby #2 is! Brookston, colton, Griffin Beckham and Graham are some boys names I've herd lately that I think are adorable! Hope you guys find something you both like:) I think our due dates are just a few days apart, can't wait for june to get here!!!

  21. Casey says

If we ever have a boy, his name will be Christian! You're welcome to steal that. LOL. I know how hard it can be when you already named your first kids the top name choice, but you definitely will come across something you love just as much!

  25. Katie Hopson says

    March 20, 2015 at 3:44 pm

I have a Logan and an Oliver on the way so those are obviously some of my favorites. I also like Spencer, Gabriel, Micah, Gavin, and Corbin.

  26. Amy says

    March 20, 2015 at 3:46 pm

    Here are some ideas:

    Sullivan
    Wilson
    Lincoln
    Cohen
    Gage
    Griffon

Love naming other people's babies… I'm terrified for when we have kids because naming our dog drove us insane!! His name is Nelson – which is another name I love 🙂

  27. Erin LFF says

    March 20, 2015 at 4:13 pm

Good luck!! 🙂 I have no good suggestions- lol! Jared and I have tons of girl names we both like but zero boy names we agree on. I think we'll be destined to have 5 boys now 😉

  28. Whitney @ Work it Mommy says

    March 20, 2015 at 4:33 pm

Hudson's little red TOMS, so precious!
Connor, Asher, Fletcher, Cooper (apparently I like '-er' ending names, ha!) Good luck!

  29. Stacie says

    March 20, 2015 at 4:49 pm

Lincoln was our favorite, but it sounded way too similar to our daughter's name. I really like Bennett because it is just a tiny update on a very classic boy name. Boy names are getting so hard because people keep using them for girls and then they become "girly"! Hudson & Bennett is my vote:)

  30. Erin says

    March 20, 2015 at 5:10 pm

We just had our baby boy Asher Emmett 4 weeks ago. We also liked the names Declan and Finn (Finn probably would have won out but our daughter's name is Brynn and I wasn't into rhyming names! Haha)

Good luck! I thought it was much harder the second time around to pick a name (and we knew we were having an entirely different gender this time around!).

  31. Jessica says

    March 20, 2015 at 5:15 pm

I'm a big fan of classic names, so Henry was always a top contender on my list! But, since you are trying to avoid double H's, I also love Owen and Levi. Boy names are hard! The hubs and I had a much harder time coming up with Caleb's name than we did with Vivian's!

  32. Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says

    March 20, 2015 at 5:29 pm

Ok, I'll give you the names that would be contenders If I ever had a boy:
    Emmett
    Bennett
    Lincoln
    Henry
    Owen

    So excited for you guys!

  33. Katie says

    March 20, 2015 at 6:15 pm

We have a Crosby and a Cohen. Was so against the double C, but when you like a name you go with it!

  34. Our Volunteer Family says

  36. Krista Coriaty says

How funny, I just saw your title and immediately thought "Harrison"! because that was my favorite boy name when I was pregnant with my son, Kyle. My husband didn't like it, though, so it went out the window. I know you said you don't like double H's, but I can't think of anything cuter than Hudson & Harrison 😉

  37. Jenny Ayers says

    March 20, 2015 at 7:28 pm

Our first son is Jackson Cooper and our second son is Johnny Kingston. But I really love the name Grayson!

  38. Meredith says

    March 20, 2015 at 7:48 pm

It's so funny, we are pregnant with our second and are not finding out the gender either. But going through the comments all my top boy names are listed. And I thought I was unique!
My husband vetoed a lot but here are some:
    Everett
    Grady
    Grayson
    Nash
    Theodore
    Tate
    Holden
    Colton

We have a Reed, that's his middle name, but he's the 5th so there were too many Charlies already in the family so we had to change it up and use his middle name!

  39. Renn McMurray says

    March 20, 2015 at 8:14 pm

Do you or your mom or mother in law have a maiden name that would work for a little boy?

  40. Nina Robinson says

    March 20, 2015 at 8:56 pm

We know we're having a boy and we're having such a hard time coming up with a name! Definitely reading through your comments for ideas 😉 For some reason it was so easy to come up with Ezra's name (literally the first name we flipped to in a baby name book), but no such luck this time around…

  41. Courtney says

  44. Elodie's Dipes & Wipes says

    March 21, 2015 at 3:11 am

My daughter would have been Tate if she was a boy. I also liked Landon. I loved Declan when we started trying for our second but by the time I got pregnant, two year later, it was way too popular. Our second ended up being a boy and we named him Eben Alexander. If we have another boy, I like Emmett, Sawyer, Luca, or Lachlan.

  45. Elizabeth Birenbaum says

    March 21, 2015 at 3:34 am

Oh gosh! I am SO bad at names. I felt such pressure to pick the perfect one with Mason. That being said, Mason was my #1 pick and I loved it so much, I convinced my husband it should be his #1 also 🙂 I also like Brayden, Luke, Colton, and Connor

  46. Amanda Cameron says

    March 21, 2015 at 4:01 am

Our first son's name is Jackson.
If baby #2 was a boy we were deciding between Greyson and Casen.
Honestly though, you can't go wrong. <3

Thanks for saying Reese for a boy! Our one year old is Rhys and people (men) think it's hilarrrrrious to say something about Witherspoon. If they watch ESPN, they'd see Reece Davis every day and it's like a top ten boy name in other parts of the world! Obviously I have a little insecurity about it now!

Naming a baby is so hard. Have you picked a girls name? We had such a hard time naming our daughters but eventually picked them (when the birth very people prodded us for the paperwork). Anyway boys names I like are Broderick, Declan, Malcolm and Sawyer!

I totally understand wanting to avoid all H names though. 🙂 More ideas: Grant, Carter, Parker, Reed/Reid, Chase, Porter, Clark, Brooks, Jack, Andrew/Drew, Liam (either as is or as a nickname to William), William/Will. I also like Carson, Owen, and Grayson but the ends might be too similar to Hudson??
