Most random 4 things ever…

Because it’s Friday (yay!) and I have some favorites to share with you….random favorites, but favs non the less. And I know everyone does 5 on Friday….but I’m pregnant and exhausted, so I’ve only got 4.

Everyone’s favorite Bath and Body Works 3 wick candles are on sale! I showed some major restraint and only picked up one….it’s the Pumpkin Apple scent and I LOVE it! I was also on the hunt for a light body spray and this Pretty as a Peach spray totally won me over! It’s so light and fresh and just makes me happy!

A few of you asked if I was wearing maternity jeans in this post (I wasn’t….I had to squeeze in to my regular jeans for the photo!), and if so where were they from. Well…it seems like everyone is on the hunt for a good maternity skinny jean, not just me! I have regular maternity jeans from when I was pregnant with Hudson, but no skinny jeans. I’ve tried to find some but every single pair I tried was rough and uncomfortable. BUT…two of you recommended the Jessica Simpson line (thank you Shayna and Marie!) at Motherhood Maternity….and I had never thought about checking there! I stopped by the next day and was pleasantly surprised! Every single pair I tried on were super soft and comfy. Can I get an amen? I ended up picking up these in a medium wash and a dark wash. They were buy one get one 50% off in store! I bought mediums and found them to be true to size…but if you are taller than me (I’m 5’8″) then they will probably be too short for you.

Okay, so this is going to seem weird, but stick with me. I recently realized I had a major addiction…..to chapstick. Yes, chapstick. Apparently it’s a real thing. I had some kind of chapstick in every single room of our house. And in my purse. And beside my bed…even in the kid’s rooms! And I was constantly reaching for it. I mean it was ALL THE TIME. And I was miserable without it. So I read up on chapstick and it turns out it can be bad for your lips because it doesn’t allow the cells to regenerate and shed like they should….so the more you use your chapstick the more you need it. Isn’t that crazy? Anyway, Dr. Oz (I know….) suggests coconut oil or lanolin instead. So I tried coconut oil and found it to be too greasy and it didn’t stay on for very long. Then I read you can use the lanolin nipple cream on your lips….so I grabbed an old tube I had from those early breastfeeding days and I was HOOKED! It has made my lips so soft! And it stays on for a long time so you don’t have to keep re-applying. And…if it does wear off my lips aren’t uncomfortable like they were when my chapstick would wear off. So trust me on this and get you some lanolin! (They sell the big tubes and the travel size at Target!)
I picked up this dress for Sadie and it is the cutest on EVER. I promise to get a photo of her asap. Now I want ALL THE COLORS. And I wish I looked that cute in a tutu dress.
Happy weekend friends!

I have that dress for my four year old in two colours. And I use lanolin for chapped lips too and it works better than anything else!

I've been using lanolin on my lips at night ever since I had my first baby 3.5 years ago. I was up in the middle of the night nursing and my lips hurt so bad but I couldn't get out of the glider so I just grabbed the lanolin from the glider side pocket. I later looked it up and have been hooked ever since!

I discovered lanolin well Dr. Lipps from Birchbox and I'd be damned if I was going to pay $16 for that stuff.
I went to Walgreen's and got the travel pack of Lansinoh. I haven't looked back.

I also use it for my dry nostrils in the winter. And my cuticles. And dry spots on my leather steering wheel.

Oh my gosh, I'm addicted to chapstick too! And can't live without it! But you're right–the more I use, the more I want! Pretty sure I have some leftover lanolin so, as weird as it sounds, I'll have to give it a try! Also, Stitch Fix has amazing maternity skinny jeans! (There are some photos in my last SF post.) You could always request a jeans-only box so that you could try 5 pairs and send 3 or 4 of them back! I also just bought a pair of maternity boyfriend jeans from Old Navy that are pretty cute! Just posted about those on Wednesday. Happy weekend!

I LOVE BBW candles and wallflowers. And guess what? Walmart has copy cat candles that look and smell as good for.. $5!!!!! They aren't with the big candle section though. They are over with all the glade candles and plug ins, in a small section. You have to look close, but they look just like the BBW ones. Recently I've been the pumpkin apple and pumpkin waffles. I remember a Leaves copy cat last year, which is my fav smell! I hope they restock it this year.

I'm the same way with chapstick! I have them everywhere and I've addicted Owen too. I have some Lanolin, so I'll have to give that a try too!

I'm the same way with Chapstick! And my breastfeeding friend recommended lanolin when I complained of dry itchy scalp at the back of my neck. She claims lanolin is like a miracle product that is good for EVERYTHING!!!

Ohh man I know you are good people because you love Pumpkin Apple candles!! It's just the best fall scent!! I also love Leaves from BBW for this time of year. Why doesn't fall last longer!??!

I am so happy you posted about your chapstick addition. I was reading this on my phone yesterday and I had just decided that I couldn't do this anymore, and my lips kinda hurt, and your chapstick post hit too close to home. I got me some lanolin yesterday, so I'm gonna try breaking the cycle today. Pray for me. 🙂

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
