Mommies Don’t Get Sick Days

When you are mommy you have to forget the term “sick day”. It doesn’t exist. Long gone are those days where you can just lounge around if you aren’t feeling good. I have had a cold for the last few days and it is not fun. Colds plus 4:00 a.m. wake up calls with the little guy do not mix well. Luckily I’m finally feeling better thanks to some super early bedtimes (for me, and for Hudson!). It’s cool to be in bed by 8:00 p.m., didn’t you know that?
Sick or not, how can you resist that cute little face?

Today I’m linking up with Leah at Everyday Love and Emily at Dear Owen for Mommy and Me Monday. The goal is to try to get a picture of yourself with your little one every week. If you are anything like me you have tons of photos of your baby…but hardly any of you and your baby together! Too often I feel I don’t look good, or my hair is a mess, or I still need to loose those last few pounds so I don’t get my picture taken. That’s just silly. I’m sure when Hudson looks back at the photos of the two of us, he won’t care about all of that…all he’ll see is how much his mommy loves him. At least that’s what I’m hoping for!

That is such a sweet idea! Turning the weekly pics into a photobook at the end of the year would be the best little keepsake 🙂 Hope you're feeling better!

It's no fun being sick with a little one, that's for sure! Hope you're feeling better! No shame in going to bed at 8 pm, I do it some night even when I'm not sick 🙂

I hear you on not having many pics together…this is such a sweet one! Glad you're feeling a little better…8pm bedtime sounds like a good goal for me to tackle. This 11:30 stuff is not good!

What a great idea! I can't wait to do the same thing once I have my baby. I also did not even think about the 'no sick days' ! I am currently fighting a cold and thought about taking a sick day today .. but just realized that once you have a baby, that's not even an option anymore! Good for you for fighting through it & at least you got to get to bed early along with Hudson too!

Hope your feeling better. All of you sure have been passing the "sick bug" around. Great idea for pics together with Hudson. I look back and have very few. Don't worry about how you look because you always look amazing and I'm not just saying that…it's true.

I hear ya, Mommies most definitely don't get sick days! Isn't it crazy how much we didn't realize before having a baby! Those extra hours of sleep, and time to actually recoup while sick, BUT I know we wouldn't change it for the WORLD! Thank you so much for linking up with us!! You're the best, friend!!! XO

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
