Mommies Don’t Get Sick Days: Part 2

If you follow me on instagram (girlintheredshoes) you know I stayed home sick yesterday. Well….guess where I am today? Yep, still home. I sort of feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. Which, you know, isn’t really how I’d like to spend my “vacation” days at work.

This whole having a young kid thing is tough…..it seems like either my husband or myself is sick most of the time. Usually we just power through it….but I’m choosing to rest today and hopefully be back at it tomorrow. My alarm clock (aka Hudson) doesn’t seem to understand that mommy doesn’t feel good. Thank God he’s not sick.
Oh and want to hear a funny sad story? Hudson always has a harder time at daycare on Mondays since he’s home Friday-Sunday. It’s just a big adjustment to go back on Monday. But hey, I think we can all say that! Anyway, his favorite daycare worker was out sick so he had a rough day. He loves him some Ms. D. He had such a rough day that he didn’t nap. AND he didn’t want to go to bed. So we did everything….sang to him, cuddled him, even went for a drive. NOTHING worked. At one point I had to take a break because I hadn’t eaten all day and was feeling sick. I went downstairs to eat my dinner and…….Wrigley had gotten to it first. Our good little golden who would never ever do anything naughty chose THE WORST NIGHT EVER to swipe my dinner off the counter. #momfail
Hudson finally got to bed at 9:15. But was still up at 6:30. SOMEBODY EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!

In other, better news, I’m giving away a 200×200 ad spot on my blog! Sponsorship is such a great way to be introduced to new blogs! This month I’m sponsoring one of my favorites….Whitney from I Wore Yoga Pants to Work. Her blog is amazing. Check it out!

So sorry about the rough sleep night — in my world that would happen too. It doesn't matter when Callie falls asleep she wakes up at pretty much the same time! Hope a second day of rest helps!

Feel better ASAP!! Seriously zero fun being a mom and being sick. At least H isn't home- and you can just rest and get yourself better… And tucker did that to us for the first time a few weeks ago! What's with these naughty doggies?!

I'm so sorry you're sick! It is so hard being a sick mommy. No bueno. I hope you can get lots and lots of rest today and be all better come tomorrow!

Owen does the same kind of unpredictable sleep thing. We'll be out late at a friends and think he'll sleep late since he was up late, but NOPE! There is no telling what they'll do, those little loves!

I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. I hate being sick and hate it even more when the baby gets sick, too. I'm happy that your little guy feels well and praying that you feel better soon. xoxo

Hi, i recently found your blog bc someone i read did a guest post here. this is my first comment!
It's reassuring to her about another working mom with baby in daycare who is going through the stream of sicknesses from the "germ cesspool" (daycare.). Literally every month there is a sickness.
My daughter would also not go to sleep last night, thankfully though, the car ride did work. Hope it was just a one night thing for your little man!

Oh, I'm sick too! Mac and I both have some disgusting snot thing going on. Of course, he shook it off in a day and I've been feeling like crap for almost a week now. YUCK. I hate being sick. Hope we all feel better soon! Sending healthy vibes your way.

I am so sorry you are not feeling well! As a new mom too I know it is the worst when you are sick because getting rest is basically impossible!

We are on the same day care schedule too 🙂 I have Avery at home with me on Friday – Sunday and then we go to daycare/work on Monday – Thursday. Mondays are always the worst…for both of us! LOL 🙂 Feel better mamma!

Feel better lady!! I'm so eager to start a family and then little reminders like this make me think I can wait a little longer! 🙂

Sounds like no fun at all! Max wakes up at the same time even if you put him to bed way late. He is even harder to get to sleep if he is over tired. No sense in that. Hope you feel better and Hudson stays well.

I've been sick and baby is sick. Do daycares take babies just when their SAHM are sick? Lol
