This is a sponsored post by Welch’s® Fruit Snacks, but our love for their yummy fruit snacks is all our own.
Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my!
How do you decide what costumes to wear for Halloween? At our house, the discussion about what we’ll be for Halloween begins pretty much as soon as the summer starts. Hudson loves to talk things through and has been debating his options for what seems like forever. He has it narrowed down to either a vampire or Pikachu. Personally, I’m team Pikachu.
Sadie has asked to be “the girl with the pink hair and purple dress” (Anne from The Greatest Showman”) Anna (from Frozen), Pikachu (wonder where she got that idea?), and my favorite, the tin man from the Wizard of Oz. To be fair, I did plant the idea in her head and made it seem like the BEST IDEA EVER because, well, I wanted us to all dress up as the Wizard of Oz cast together! Because it’s probably the ONLY year I can get away with it, right?
And Belle? She just wants to be a “ROAR” (lion) or a “quack quack” (duck). Or wear one of Sadie’s many princess dresses. Or whatever her sister tells her to be. Poor third child.
So I’m happy to report that dreams really do come true! I got my family costume and all I had to do was promise the kids some of their favorite Welch’s®Halloween Fruit Snacks.
I am way too excited to have a family costume for the first time ever! We love trick or treating (and practicing trick or treating too). We typically have several different events during Halloween to dress up for including school parties, trunk or treat, and actual trick or treating, so my kids LOVED the idea of having a family theme for our trick or treating costumes this year and then still getting to be their own thing for their school parties. Win win for everyone!
The kids got a huge kick out of me being dressed up too! And so did Hudson’s entire school bus full of kids when I walked to the bus stop in my costume. I’m totally that mom.
Hudson reluctantly agreed to be the scarecrow. I originally wanted him to be the tin man but he shot that idea down pretty quick….that is until he saw his sister in her costume and agreed it was pretty cool!
Sadie makes the cutest tin man I have ever seen. Although she kept telling me, “mommy, I’m not a man! I’m a girl!”
And don’t even get me started on this girl. Talk about the best little lion ever! Belle kept growling and meowing….she’s really getting into her role!
I’m not sure how much longer my kids will put up with my silly requests, so I’m soaking in all of the family moments I can get with these ones.
This year the kids are pretty excited to continue the tradition of handing out treats to the trick-or-treaters at our house! But this year we have a new addition to our treat line up: our favorite Welch’s®Halloween Fruit Snacks!
They come in a fun Halloween themed box and pouches and have cute shapes like a bat, witch, jack-o-lantern, haunted house, and a ghost! I’ve also been sneaking a bag of fruit snacks into Hudson’s lunch each day, which has made him feel super cool and special at the lunch table, ha!
Welch’s®Fruit Snacks are a favorite treat in our house, so I’m sure they are going to please the kids in the neighborhood!
Sadie’s favorite fruit snack shape in these special Halloween Fruit Snacks is the witch! She’ll dig around in her bag until she finds one. Belle doesn’t have a favorite; she loves them ALL. I can’t say that I blame her.
These are the moments I know I’ll remember forever. And I hope my kids do too. One day they’ll look back at these photos and laugh about how mommy dressed up with them, and marvel at how tiny they used to be. My crew is crazy but I couldn’t love them more. We can’t wait for trick or treating!
Any ideas for what we can dress up as next year? It’s never too early to start planning!
