Lessons from the weekend

1. Be careful when you spray. Hairspray that is. On Saturday morning I took a direct shot of hairspray to the eye. And oh my word, it hurt so bad. Like I screamed. And flushed my eye out for 5 minutes. And spent the next 4 hours wondering if I should go to urgent care. And then wondered how much they would laugh at me if I did go to urgent care. I mean, who sprays hairspray directly in to their eye???? It felt like acid  was sprayed in to my eye and then it was scratched and it hurt every time I blinked. Which was a lot. Thankfully eye drops helped and by 3:00 I was better. Stupid hairspray.

2. Birthday getaways are the best. As a surprise for my husband’s birthday, I kidnapped him after dinner and took him to one of the fanciest hotels in town. And we didn’t come back until the next day. It was glorious. Hudson did great with grandma and mommy and daddy got to sleep in. Best idea ever.

3. John Deere hats aren’t just for farmers. Just sayin’.

4. When you leave your kid for the night he misses you. And it’s just about the cutest thing ever.

5. These are little bits of heaven on a stick. And were totally consumed this weekend.

I hope your weekend was as fabulous as mine!

Hair spray in the good ol eyeball is NO joke. I once sprayed dry shampoo in my eye and was convinced it was the end. #OverDramatic

Hahaha….I would have been laughing and crying if I sprayed hairspray in my eye!! I am glad it got better on its own!

PS Best birthday present ever!!! We are going to Vegas in December without Cam for 3 nights and as much as we want to party and live it up, I won't be surprised if we spend a lot of time sleeping. 🙂

    Have a great week!!

hairspray to the eye…never good. it's also similar to cutting up onions or using cayenne pepper then rubbing your eyes-not very good! 😉 hope you had a good date night!

I have the WORST luck with my eyes–I swear, they're the most sensitive eyes ever. And I've sprayed hairspray before…hurts like no other! So glad you had a blast on your little getaway, you deserve it. That picture of hubby and Hudson is the sweetest 🙂

I've totally done that before with hairspray! I actually had a friend who also used to accidentally set of fire alarms with her hairspray, haha so FYI be careful if you're using hairspray by a fire alarm!

I feel like next time I hairspray I am going to do this, because I will be trying not to…that is just how my luck runs. Maybe I should hairspray with eyes closed from now on, just in case. Doesn't sound fun!

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
