Kid Tested, Mom Approved: Mommy & Me Craft

Welcome to day two of the Kid Tested, Mom Approved link up party! Thank you to everyone who linked up on Tuesday for The Style File! If you missed that post you can catch up here.

HOVER TEXT

Today Erinn from Strawberry Swing and Other Things is our host and we are sharing a mommy and me craft. I’m SO excited to get some great ideas of fun projects to do with Hudson! Remember to grab the code from the box above and use it in your post…then link up below!

Hudson and I made a car parking lot matching numbers game! When I saw this post by B-Inspired Mama I knew we had to make it. Hudson loves cars so it was the perfect fit!

Here’s what you’ll need:
A cardboard box, 10 cars, scissors, black sharpie, pencil, ruler, and numbered stickers. The three cars in the front were my husband’s when he was a little boy. Love it.
Okay, let me be honest here….it’s hard to do a craft with a one year old very busy boy. Obviously I did most of this! So….first, cut the flaps off of your cardboard box and cut a ramp for the cars to “drive” through. This yogurt box worked perfectly.

I had Hudson “help” line up the cars and choose the order he wanted.
Then, I grabbed my ruler and marked the parking spot lines with a pencil, then went over it with a sharpie. Last, I wrote numbers in each parking spot. So easy!
I grabbed some number stickers that I had in my old scrap booking supplies box (different than the ones I used in the supplies photo…they were too big) and numbered each car.
Then Hudson “drove” each car in to it’s spot. Yeah….not really. He doesn’t really understand the concept of matching the number on the car to the number of the parking spot. But it’s still fun to try! One day he’ll love it.
Love how cute this turned out!

I had fun matching them up!

This project is totally Hudson and mommy approved!

I have to mention that Hudson is ONE year old today! Happy birthday to my sweet boy! Birthday post coming next week once I come to terms with my baby growing up.
Link up below! I can’t wait to read your posts! And remember to join us next week Tuesday for family friendly food!

#ad It’s that time of year! Time to make sure yo #ad It’s that time of year! Time to make sure your child is up to date on their well-child visits and vaccines! As the chief advocate for my kids, I always want to make decisions that are the best for them and for our family. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for these little loves of mine, and I know all of you can relate! That is why I vaccinate my kids. Vaccinating your child is one of the safest and most effective things you can do to protect them against serious preventable diseases. If you live in Michigan like we do, it’s time to schedule that well-child visit and make sure your kids are up to date on their vaccinations! I’ve done a lot of research and talked to our pediatrician at length about what is best for my family and I would encourage you to do so too. It’s normal to have questions—it makes you a good parent! But make sure you are getting answers from credible sources. Remember, vaccines are safe, effective, and help protect everyone. Ultimately I decided to vaccinate my children because not doing so puts them at risk of contracting a potentially deadly disease. I want the best for my kids. If you have questions or need a reliable resource, check out @IVaccinateMI for information and tools based on real medical science and research to help Michigan parents protect their kids from vaccine-preventable diseases.
