Is it just me, or……Olympic Edition

Is it just me, or are the US Olympic track suits they wear for medal ceremonies ugly? (Nothing against Missy Franklin….I think she is adorable.)

Is it just me, or was the opening ceremonies kind of weird? Without the commentary I would have had no clue what was going on.

But the Mary Poppins invasion was one of my favorite parts.
Is it just me, or have you had enough of Michael Phelps? Over it.
Is it just me, or is the video of US gymnast Aly Raisman’s parents watching her perform just about the cutest/funniest thing you’ve ever seen? They love their girl.
Is it just me, or is it beyond cute to see William and Harry cheering on their team?

Is it just me, or was the Today Show segment on Speed Walking all kinds of awesome?

Is it just me, or are you in love with the Olympics like I am?

I can see why you might be over Michael Phelps, but I am SO SICK of hearing about Ryan Lochte. Dude, he calls his fans the Lochte Nation… and he's fresh to the Olympics. Dude, can his head even fit in the pool?!

This was spot on! I don't love the track suits either. And Michael Phelps… over him.

The footage of Aly Raisman's parents was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. Reminded me of something you'd see on SNL! 🙂

AGREE WITH ALL OF IT! I didn't understand a single bit of the opening ceremonies. I thought it was the booze at first but then realized it wasn't haha so weird! I LOVED seeing the Raismans cheering Aly on omg so cuteeeeeee

I am OBSESSED with the Olympics! Absolutely adored the Mary Poppins portion of the Opening Ceremony and Aly Raisman's parents are absolutely adorable!!! They get so nervous at every meet and it's so cute! I've seen all sorts of interviews and the love they have for their family is just amazing!

Also, SO SO over Phelps. Amen.

That pic of Ryan Seacrest and Matt Lauer totally cracks me up! I thought the opening ceremony was pretty boring too, definitely fell asleep during that one. I am so over Michael Phelps also!

I am absolutely loving the Olympics! I am glued to the TV from the moment I come home! I do kind of feel sorry for Michael Phelps though… I was rooting for him, but its obvious that he gave up before he even started!

You nailed it!! The ceremonies were so strange! I knew it was a bad sign when Matt had to narrate the whole thing. And yes, Phelps, get it together! It's as if he doesn't care at all!

I loved the first part of the ceremonies, where it transformed from pastoral to industrious and they forged the rings. But the digital part was terrible! I did not understand that "love story" at ALL.

Missy Franklin is who I want my daughter to become! I am stunned that she carries herself this way and is still in high school.

The men's swimming, in general, is getting old. I loved that a little Chinese girl schooled all of them.

My least favorite part? The spoilers:o( Last night, I was so excited to see Missy's swim and then the commercial right before the swim was for the Today show and said "Tomorrow, see Missy Franklin with her parents as she celebrates her gold medal win". Seriously? I do not like this whole finding out about Jordyn Wieber, Ryan Lochte, and then that before I got to watch it. And because its on so late, falling asleep in the middle of it. I don't remember such a time issue last time?

I love watching the Olympics too!! My husband said he's getting tired of it already, but I'm so not. 🙂 I didn't see Aly's parents in that clip, but it sounds pretty funny, so I'm going to have to find it and watch.

Definitely in love! And I have to agree, those track suits are not cute. I have to say that I'm not a fan of the women's swim suit either….why are they cut so far in on the front!

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
