Getting Ready for Baby

 photo IMG_5688.jpg

The baby countdown is officially ON over here. We have less than 10 weeks until this little girl rocks our world and while I can’t wait, I’m also a bit nervous.

Thankfully my nervousness has translated in to nesting BIG TIME. I’ve been busy making lists and checking to-do items off one by one. I still have a ton of work to do, but it’s a start! I’m totally not kidding on our 2017 goals….I’m keeping things simple and focusing on just adjusting to having three kids. And keeping them alive, too. It’s going to be a huge adjustment for all of us, I’m sure.
Here’s what I’ve been up to:

 photo IMG_5485.jpg

Working on the nursery. It’s about 75% done, which is more complete than either Hudson or Sadie’s nurseries at this point, which feels amazing!

Organizing ALL THE PHOTOS. I started with our printed photos that were basically lying around everywhere. And now I’m working on digital photos….which is a whole other beast!

Working on photo albums. I’m working on our 2016 photo album…..and after that I have to do 2012-2015 too. Oops.

Sadie’s baby book. Don’t tell her, but it’s completely empty. I have all her stats and stuff on my phone, I just need time to write it all down in the book. Not gonna lie, I’m totally dreading this task. Tell me I’m not the only one who does this.
Stocking up on food! I’m slowly starting to build our pantry up by buying canned goods and things that will keep for a long time so that when I’m overwhelmed with 3 kids I’ll still hopefully be able to find us all something to eat. Fingers crossed.

Stocking up on diapers! Thanks to Sam’s Club I’ve been able to stock up baby girl big time on diapers…so we are totally set for the first few months, which feels so good. I’ve also been focusing on stocking up Sadie’s diapers too (YIKES 2 kids in diapers!!!!). I just picked up this Huggies® 2 Month Supply Box…and although it is HUGE, the savings were so great, I couldn’t pass it up! You can save $6 right now at Sam’s Club.

There are so many benefits of being a Sam’s Club member…..I’m totally taking advantage of our membership and stocking up on all of our supplies. There’s nothing worse than running out of diapers or toilet paper while you have a newborn! Huggies® are always our go-to for high quality, amazing diapers.

I have P's baby book about 80% done and I don't know why the last little details seems so painful to complete! I do have to laugh though because I am a third child too and my mother didn't complete my baby book until I was in 5th GRADE!! I mean yes she had some things in there but it was at my prompting she completed it. Makes for a pretty funny memory now!

So freaking excited for you!!!! And haha – Avalon's is way less complete than Waverly's was at this point. Second child problems …

I've been out of the blogosphere for so long, I didn't know you were expecting. Congratulations! By the way, I love that sign. 🙂

Those 10 weeks are going to go so fast, but it looks like you're well on your way to being ready!! And ugh, organizing photos is so overwhelming for me…so I just don't do it! And my poor kids don't have baby books so you're winning there!

SO glad I'm not the only pregnant fairy that is in full nesting mode – I have cleared out almost EVERY cupboard in our house, cleaned out our playroom (with the influx of Christmas toys), thrown away old clothes, slowly prepping baby nursery, organizing girls baby books and school milestone books and planning for the year ahead!! x

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
