Let’s be real….having your picture taken a few days after giving birth isn’t on anyone’s list of favorite activities. Unless you are the Duchess of Cambridge of course….and I’m not convinced she’s a real person. She’s basically 80% unicorn. And has a team of stylists that help make her look like that, right? Where’s my team?
Anyway, I wasn’t too excited about getting in front of the camera for Sadie’s newborn photos…but I knew I would regret it if I didn’t. And when I look at the photos right now I see my face was still bloated, my arms and belly don’t look like they normally do, my hands are swollen, and I’m just a little bit tired.
But I know that when Sadie is all grown up those things won’t matter to me. All I’ll see is a beautiful record of my first week with my sweet baby girl. I’ll see how little she was, how cute she was with that little wrinkly forehead. How tiny her feet were. My post-baby body won’t even matter.
You look amazing in your photos, lady! I love the outfit you chose and you can just feel the joy and love you have for your sweet new daughter. I'm glad you 'got in the photo'! 🙂
So gorgeous! Love how soft and peaceful the photos are 🙂
Beautiful!! You look stunning. Kate has nothin on you 🙂
You look great! And such a good idea to wear a flowy top in a bright color! And I totally agree that in years to come we will just be happy to be in the pictures with our kids. And in 20 years we won't be saying we looked bloated or anything, just that we looked so young lol!
you're so gorgeous. your babes are so adorable. and you have the absolute best hair. #jealous maybe i should start a compliment friday linkup.
You look gorgeous Mama!
Kisses Sofia
I felt the same way about our newborn photos! My face looked so chubby! I'm still glad I was in them though. But you my fiend look simply beautiful!
I know it takes awhile to feel "normal" again, but I have to say you look stunning! I think you are definitely right that you won't regret it one bit 🙂
You look gorgeous! I love the heart behind this post. So sweet!
The most beautiful photos – I think you look gorgeous x
You look beautiful in your pictures!! It is really hard getting in front of the camera but, so worth it! & You're right, one day you'll look at those pictures & never see your postpartum body. Love these!!
Absolutely stunning, mama! And I agree…80% unicorn. xx
Beautiful! I look back and wish I had done that as well. Honestly, it never really crossed my mind! I think the exhaustion got the best of me. 🙂

Such a beautiful post and a wonderful reminder! I get so caught up trying to get the perfect picture of Mason that half the time I don't remember to get in the photo myself. Thank goodness for the selfie 🙂 But in all seriousness, I'm going to regret if I don't get in more pictures with him now because I won't have them to look back on later!
These are gorgeous!
These pictures are gorgeous and so are those babies of yours. Such a beautiful reminder to all moms, because I"m sure I can speak for 99% of us saying we've felt the same way. xo
This is the sweetest, Julie! (I could've sworn I already commented but must have been in my dream state. Ha.) You are 100% right about getting in the pictures. I totally agree that one day we'll look back and won't even notice any of our imperfections, just sweet memories of a time that passed too quickly. You look amazing, babe. And you already know how I feel about the gorgeous unicorn. 😉 Solidarity, sister.
You are beyond beautiful!! Congrats on your sweet little girl! 🙂
YES! First of all, these pictures are fantastic, and you look radiant in them. Second, I REALLY wish I had more pictures of just me with my youngest daughter. The day of her photo shoot is actually the day she was diagnosed with RSV, so I was more preoccupied with watching her and wanting the pictures to be finished so I could take her to the doctor. If/when we have a third child, I would love to just have me in several pictures with just the baby and the older kids. I'm actually thinkign about booking a mommy & me session or something like that early next year. great post!
