Hudson is ready for “school” to start! Can you believe that this boy will be TWO whole years old in less than a month? Because I am still in shock. And oh my word, the sight of my child with a backpack on is just about enough to do me in.
I know that day when I drop him off at Kindergarten will be here before I know it….and I’m sure I’ll be a hot mess. (I’m also crossing my fingers that by that day, he will be able to sit still for 10 seconds and smile at the camera for a first day of school photo. Send up a prayer for me, because right now it looks like that day will never come). Anyway…..right now, we call daycare “school” and Hudson loves everything about it….except being dropped off (which I make my husband do because I just can’t take it!)
I get to pick this little man up from school each day and it is by far the highlight of my day. He is always so happy to see mama (unless they are doing something really fun, like popping bubbles or playing outside…if that is the case he is all too happy to IGNORE mama.) Whenever I pick him up I always have a sippy cup of water ready and lots of snacks.
Here is a little back-to-school snack pack I put together for Hudson for after school. He definitely doesn’t eat all of this….my boy just likes his options.
I stuffed Hudson’s snack bag with tomatoes (that he picked from our garden), fishy crackers, pretzels, raisins, and his new favorite snack, Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers.
And of course we change in to our comfy clothes after school too. Like mama like son. I found these Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers at my Walmart Super Store and love that I have some peace of mind knowing that they contain real fruit and veggies. Totally a win-win in my book. Hudson likes the blueberry one the most!

Do you have a child going to school this fall?
Hudson is just the cutest! Where did you find that awesome snack bag! I have to have one for my son right this second!!!

We need to try blueberry! So far lex has rejected the other flavors AND has started rejecting pouches in general. Which is really inconvenient– because eating applesauce out of the container with a spoon usually ends up a tad messier 😉
Seeing him all dressed for 'school' with his backpack – and knowing that he is about to turn 2 – just made me cry a little. Is that weird? I think I'm just a bit emotional since Caleb starts preschool (Mother's Morning Out) tomorrow. He was running around with his backpack, and I had the same thought that you did – our boys will be going to kindergarten so soon! My mama heart can't handle this!!!
My little guy just turned three last month. Before I became a stay at home mom he would drop a boy off at school with my mom every day. He has been begging to start school forever now. We have a junior college in our town and they have a lab school – it is a preschool that students get to log lab hours at to help with their teaching education. Jack starts the first part of September two days a week and it is only for three hours a day…I am a mess about it already. Lord help me.
He's too cute all dressed up for school!! And those snacks are perfect for a healthy lunch / snack addition!
Ahhh, backpacks kill me! He looks so much older!!!
Yummy snacks!! We have tried lots of other ones, but will have to grab these next time.
PS Where is his bag from with his name on it? Too cute!
Love the pouch with Hudson's name and the car on it! Where is that from?
I can't believe how big he looks! We are total grazers over here and LOVE any and all snacks.. I'll be checking these out asap!
