Baby You’re a Firework

We had a pretty good 4th of July weekend. Some lake time, some kid-pool time, some s’mores, and some fireworks. All the good stuff.

And walking. Turns out Sadie is ALL ABOUT walking now!

And walking away from me.

Shout out to my father-in-law for setting up this little photo shoot. Because kids + a flag + wagon cannot be missed!

And this is how we all feel now that the long weekend is over.

I hope you had a great 4th of July!

Baby You’re a Firework

We had a great 4th of July! Usually we go to my mom’s lake house but exhaustion and a new baby kept us home. But…as it turns out our town has a lot of fun things to do for the 4th!
This is the smile I get when I bribe him with sour patch kids. He is totally my kid. #WillSmileForCandy
Meanwhile, this little love was busy wearing all her red white and blue and looking cute.
Our town had a great little 4th of July parade and carnival. Hudson had the BEST time bouncing in the bounce house, riding the choo-choo train, and going for a pony ride….oh and popsicle eating too!
I can’t get over how grown up he looked on that horse!

Little sister was a champ and looked adorable sleeping in her seat the whole time. By the way….this was the first time we’ve used our Baby Jogger City Select as a double stroller and I am in love! So easy to use and pushes like a dream!
We ended the day with some BBQ grill action and we were all in bed before the fireworks even started!
Happy 4th of July everyone!

Sounds like a great weekend!! I'm so glad you love the city select as a double!! That is one of the reasons Matt & I bought it, so we could use it that way later on!

Oh my word, his sweet little smile! I love when they start to understand about when you ask them to smile. I ask Mason and he says "cheeeee" with the biggest smile he can do. Melt my heart. Your kids were looking super cute and festive! Glad you guys had a good, laid back 4th!

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
