Awkward and Awesome Thursday

I’m linking up with The Daybook for Awesome and Awkward Thursday. Have you read Sydney’s blog? You should…she is all kinds of adorable. And just had a baby!

Awkward
1. Nice neighbors who want to chat with me while I’m walking Wrigley at 6am….in my pj’s….with no makeup on. Why does this always happen to me?

2. Checking out a book probably better suited for a teenage girl at the library. And having a pay a 15 cent fine for turning in my other teenage girl book late.

3. Dark green nail polish. It doesn’t look good…trust me.

Awesome

1. The husband and I were picked for the Nielson TV ratings survey and I’m beyond excited. Starting today we have to write in these diaries about the TV shows we watch. You better believe I’m taking this thing seriously!

2. ABC’s new show Once Upon a Time. I sort of love it. And I’ll make sure the Nielsen people know it!

3. It’s finally Thursday…..which means I get to spend the weekend with this girl. So excited.

I like Once Upon a Time too! It's kind of ridiculous, and doesn't make a ton of sense, but every girl loves a fairy tale right? I'm totally guilty of checking out teen reads from the library too. It's so humiliating. I'm seriously SO jealous of you getting to participate in the TV survey. I'd probably fill that thing to the brim – we watch way too much TV. Have you checked out Grimm on NBC? It has a darker Once Upon a Time vibe – I really like it!

I love once upon a time and so happy i figured out how to use my on demand options so i can rewatch it whenever haha. also i may or may not have been in the young adult section at my library last night looking for sweet valley high books 🙂 dont judge me!

I so want to be a Nielsen family! I think it would be so fun!

And I feel your pain about getting chatted up in your jammies. I made an impromptu run to Target the other morning after I stopped by the Starbucks drive thru. I was in some very scrubby pj-ish clothes and of course I ran into someone I know. So embarrassed.

I have a day to myself tomorrow since the hubs is off doing guy things with his snowmobile… perfect day for me to check out Once Upon a Time On Demand.

I hear you on the awkardness of taking the dog out in your PJs. I have an ankle legnth zip up robe, basically a snuggie, that is incredibly ugly, but ohhhh sooo comfy that I wear outside with the dog. Awk-ward when I'm holding the leash in my snuggie while the dog is doing her business as the kid walk by to go to the bus stop…

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Today I’m linking up with Sydney at The Daybook for Awkward and Awesome Thursday….and you should too!

Awkward
1. Handing over a bag of my dog’s poo to the vet. In a brown bag. With his name on it. No, it’s not his lunch bag…..
2. Having to wonder why most of my awkward moments revolve around poo.
3. Forgetting to change out of my “staining the deck” clothes before running errands. Why yes, that is paint all over my pants and shirt….classy.
4. Finding the above mentioned paint/stain in my hair 4 days latter.

Awesome
1. Crisp, cool fall-like weather…and leaves everywhere! This is my favorite time of year.
2. Halloween Oreos. Enough said.
3. Adding The New Girl and Hart of Dixie to my list of new favorite TV shows.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

It’s time for another installment of Awkward and Awesome Thursday. Join Sydney at The Daybook for more awesomeness.
Awkward
– Trying to carry on a conversation with a neighbor while holding a bag of your dog’s poo. There really is no classy way to do this…I’ve tried.
– Also, let’s add waving hello to someone with the poo bag hand.
– The TSA guy flirting with me while I’m going through the scary x-ray screening thing. Nothing says “hot” like me with my hands in the air while someone x-rays every last bit of me. Gives me the creeps to just think about it.

– People you meet at work events who then want to be your friend on facebook. Um, no thank you, creepy guy.

– My high school reunion. This weekend. I’m not going. But still awkward. I’m old.

Awesome
– A few nights ago while I was making breakfast sausage for dinner the husband asked me what was wrong. Me: “Well, I wanted bacon, but we had this sausage that was already opened so I’m making that instead. But now I still want the bacon.” The husband: “Why don’t you just make both?” Me: “That’s why I love you.”

– Three-day work weeks. Highly recommend.

– All my TV shows are back for  fall! My DVR is full and happy. And so am I.

– Co-workers planking on my desk while I’m out of town. And documenting it for me. Love!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Today I’m linking up with Sydney at The Daybook for Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Awkward

– Burning the skin off of my forehead with the curling iron. Apparently I’m still not used to the new bangs. What to know what’s even more awkward? Pinning your bangs up so you can go to the gym. Yeah. Crazy sweaty girl with a big old burn on her head? That’s me!

– The show Dance Moms. Have you seen it? The whole idea of the show makes me squirm. Yet I still watch it.

– Our neighbor bashing into our mailbox….and then coming to tell me about it. What do I say to that? Um, thanks? Next time can you knock it down all the way so that I have an excuse to get a new one?

Awesome

– Wrigley barking at the deer in our back yard last night. Such a watchdog.

– The husband is making dinner tonight. I have no idea what he’s making, but I don’t have to do it, so it will be awesome.

– The new boots I got last week for…..$24! I can’t wait for some fall weather so I can wear these.

– Three-day weekends…..enough said.

What a bummer about the mailbox! At least he told you about it – we used to live out on country roads growing up and on the weekends the older kids in our town would get drunk and go cruisin' down country roads and smash all the mailboxes in the process.
    So.annoying.
