A Healing….

Father’s Day has always been tough for me. It’s hard for me to go to church on that day or go log in to facebook and instagram. There is so much love out there for wonderful dads. And I love my dad too. But with that love there is so much hurt.

But this Father’s Day was different.
Because I now know the most amazing father.
My husband.

Hudson loves his daddy. I know without a doubt he will grow up wanting to be just like him.
My husband would do anything for that boy.

Seeing my husband become a father has helped heal some of the hurt in my heart. I know how much a father can love his child. And I know that Hudson will never be hurt by his daddy.
Our Father’s Day was perfect. I made peach cobbler…and we ate it all. We watched a movie and played with Hudson. And we just enjoyed being together as a family of three.

Such a great post!!! I am excited for the father's day when we have kids, because I feel like it might rejuvenate father's day for my boyfriend since he's in the same boat as you.

I am so glad your husband made yesterday so special for you!

Love this, Julie. I can relate to this post on so many levels. I have a lot of daddy issues that I still deal with, but father's day has been so much better these last two years because of my husband. Thank God for our amazing husbands who are the fathers we wished we had!

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
