A Few Days Away

As some of you know, for the past year and a half I have been working for Pollinate Media and Weave Made Media. It has been such a huge blessing to our lives. I’m able to stay home with Hudson and Sadie but still do my work and feel a sense of accomplishment. But that’s not the best part. The best part about my job is these ladies right here. They are hands down some of my most favorite people. We come from all across the country but get together once a year in Southern California for our holiday party. And have THE BEST TIME. We ate. We shopped. We SLEPT. We danced. And we ate some more. Two of us pumped (and then dumped) together. And I made college Julie proud when we hit up a country western saloon and I remembered how to line dance! We picked up right where we left off last year (it doesn’t hurt that we all talk at least once a week on the phone, usually more) and just enjoyed being all together. These girls are the best.

It was nice to get away for a few days and just relax. It was good for my soul and just what I needed. I slept 8 hours and it was PURE HEAVEN. And this was our view. Talk about amazing.

And now I’m back. And I need to remember to move that darn elf on a shelf around each day. But I missed my babies something fierce. I’ll give you one hint as to who was willing to sit still for a minute for me to snap a photo. Both kids are mama obsessed and haven’t left my side since I’ve gotten home. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So glad you had such a good time here this weekend! The weather was perfect and I was loving all the spots you guys hit up. Next time though you need to go to the OC Donut Bar! Might even be better than Sidecar!

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
