1. Dirty hair is the new black. Wash your hair as infrequently as possible. Yep, I said it. Dirty hair is the way to go as a busy mom. In order to make this look work for you, you have to train your hair to go without washing. Before kids, I washed my hair every other day. On day two my hair was greasy and gross so I always washed it. Then, when I got pregnant with Hudson, I started stretching it out to every three days. And now that I have two kids it’s more like I wash it once every 5 days! But this takes time. Start slow by adding just one day. After two weeks try adding in another day. Your hair will adjust to less washings over time and it will actually be healthier! This tip saves me SO much time!
2. Rinse with apple cider vinegar. I know it sounds strange, but apple cider vinegar is the best (and cheapest) way to clean out all the gunk that can build up in your hair. I typically fill an old water bottle with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and the rest of it warm water. After shampooing my hair I’ll pour the mixture over my head and let it sit for about 5 minutes, then rinse it out. Be careful not to get it in your eyes. My hair feels so clean and healthy after doing this! I usually do this once or twice a month.
3. Cut down on blow drying time. Who has time to waste blow drying their hair? My hair is crazy thick and it could take me 20 minutes to dry it. No thanks! I usually let my hair air dry for a hour and then blow dry it smooth using these tips.
Great hair tips, lady! I never knew how much damage I was doing to my hair washing and drying it everyday. It wasn't until I embraced the updo with my second/third day hair that my hair started growing better and looking more full. I don't use dry shampoo but am very intrigued about the apple cider tip, thanks for sharing.
Speed Up Your Blowout was most helpful to me. I have very long hair, and drying my hair every morning can be a real task. Any tips help.
Great tips, thanks for sharing! I really want to extend my time between washing, but I feel like it gets dirty after my workouts. I liked the article about extending my summer glow.
I'm totally in the market for a new (and wonderful) dry shampoo…your link for that actually goes to the anti-frizz products…sad face. Had my first almost a year ago, and I'm totally embracing the more days between washing thing, esp as a working mommy…hard not to haha! Just can't seem to find a dry shampoo I love – HELP!
Hey Hailey! I highly recommend Batiste Dry Shampoo…you can get it at Target!
I would love to try some dry shampoo – apparently everyone uses this but me…LOL! Thanks for all the tips!

This is awesome and the tips of easing one day at a time into stretching our your routine is so helpful! I've been wanting to do this, but didn't know where to start. Your hair always looks so fabulous, so this is really really helpful! One of my fav posts!!!
For the contest – the subject that caught my eye would either be the "Speed up your blow dry" or "How to make your summer glow last." I've started showering at night and letting my hair air dry while I sleep to try to make it healthier, so the blow dry one would be helpful on my weekends when I still shower in the am.
Speed up your blow dry is definitely the most helpful to Me, it takes me foreveR to dry my hair :/
Speed up your blowout was so helpful. My hair is crazy thick too and it takes me forever to blow dry. Thank you for all the tips!
Wow! I wish my hair could look that good, I wash and style mine everyday! I love the tip about what to wear before summer ends. I am dreading the end of summer and going back to wearing pants instead of dresses!
10 Beauty Products to Help You Through the End of Summer was helpful to me.
I liked the Speed Up Your Blow Dry article. I have thick hair and I dread drying it!
Really want to try the apple cider vinegar thing. Liked the blow dry article the best.

I loved "Speed up your Blow Dry." That would be so helpful!
The guide that was most helpful to me was The Best Frizz Fighting Hair Products. I suffer from a lot of frizz to the point that I just get lazy and put it in the bun because it poofs so easily. I wish I could have healthy looking vibrant hair like yours. The second I flat iron or curl it, it frizzes. Thankfully though I will give these products a try and hopefully fight the frizz away for better hair days.
I cannot believe you go 5 days between washings. I might have to sit down and take that in for a minute. I am so jealous I'm turning green… and I thought I was doing great washing every 2-3 days!
I need to try the apple cider vinegar trick and guide 3 was really helpful. Being 17 weeks preggo, I'm trying to still make the most out of clothes I have before buying Fall/Winter maternity pieces.
Guide 1 for best frizz fighting products. My hair gets all frizzy once the humidity goes up a little.
