p.s. love the laundry on the floor behind me? #keepingitreal
{three} This news story about self magazine making fun of a cancer survivor running in a tutu was blowing up my facebook feed yesterday. It’s sad that a magazine promoting women’s health would make fun of anyone who is trying to lead a healthy lifestyle…let alone a women who runs in a tutu and also makes them, sells them on her website, and donates the proceeds to charity. Shame on you self mag. I won’t be buying you anymore.
{four} I had an amazing chat with a soon to be mom about breastfeeding this week. When I think back about how it was often stressful to pump at work and keep my supply up I sometimes can’t believe I actual did it all. But at the same time, I can’t imagine not doing it. I miss those quiet moments that belonged to just me and Hudson. If you want to learn more about my Breastfeeding Diaries series please check it out here…and email me if you have any questions. I love being able to encourage other moms…breastfeeding or not.
{five} On that note…..amen. Isn’t it awesome when women encourage one another?
(keeping it real with laundry pile hahaha looove it) I need a new brush for sure! I'm pretty sure mine is like from Walmart or something- ugh. Heading over to read the diaries now- I'm not a Mom yet but I"m a pre-planner for sure@ Happy weekend to you and your fam! xoxo
Wow! SELF is my favourite magazine and I am shocked that they would print something like this. It's usually so positive and motivating..
and she was going through chemo to boot. i wonder what happened to the poop poor person that wrote the article? ouch. aveda products are amazing. i made the full switch over a year ago. their face lotions are to die for. that's an exaggeration, but it's the only lotion that doesn't make me break out. love aveda.
That Self article was all over my newsfeed yesterday too and made me really disappointed – hopefully this was just a one-time glaring error that they quickly correct. On a happier note, we're currently running a giveaway at The Sequin Notebook for Milky lactation supply beverage…thought you and the other Breastfeeding Diaries ladies may be interested š Have a fab weekend!
Love that jacket!! And I'm in serious need of a wood brush- I keep stealing lex's teeny tiny baby bird hair brush- and it's time for me to get my own!
That jacket is super cute, and looks great on you! Happy Friday!
That jacket is seriously adorable on you!
I have that brush and it is amazing! I still can't believe the craziness with SELF magazine. I also linked up to 5 on Friday (for the first time). I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Love your five today – from the jacket to the awesome quote:) Very sad that SELF would run such a terrible story. Someone's job will probably be on the line for that one! And oh, man – do I remember the days of pumping 3-4 times while working a 10 hour day. Ugh. So thankful that I don't have to do that anymore. Caleb and I are still breastfeeding, and planning to do it until he is one. But, if I was still working full time, I don't think I would have been able to keep it going up to this point! It was HARD!!!
I seriously can't believe that SELF article – I have always been a big fan of their magazine – not anymore š
I love that quote from Dave Willis!
I LOVE your #4. I'm 8 months into breastfeeding with 3-4 pumping sessions a day because I work. It is SOOOO hard. It makes me crazy because some people act like I should "just make more milk" and other people act like I should just give formula to make things easier. It feels like no one really understands what this process is like. Your breastfeeding diaries always provide a little pick-me-up halfway through the work week when I find myself in a slump over pumping, supply, and is-she-eating-enough anxiety.
Love the jacket! I nursed my daughter for a year, while working full time. I was lucky in that I was in my own office and could just shut my door. I do hate pumping though. This time is so much easier since I work from home- I can just whip that boob out! Ha!
Love that jacket, I've been looking for something similar myself! Also, thanks for shaming SELF magazine, I won't be buying any more of those… such a shame š
LOVE that jacket! It might be in my cart already š
That's so aggravating to hear about that self magazine article making fun of that girl. Seriously??
That jacket looks adorable on you!
That SELF magazine article makes me SO mad!!! And now I'm sad I think I have a subscription – I will not be renewing. It's bad enough to bash someone's personal fun, but bashing someone's personal fun, leading a fit life and overcoming her fight with cancer, double, no TRIPLE shame SELF!
I love the jacket – what a great staple piece for your wardrobe! I think the roomy fit will come in handy for you in the fall when you want to transition the jacket into a colder weather wardrobe too! š
I saw that Self mag bit too, disgusting. Maybe they should have read that last quote before running something like that.
I must live under a rock. I had no idea about that story… self mag should be ashamed of themselves!
I read the SELF article thing. CRAZY!
Love the jacket, looking good!!
