5 on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Today I’m linking up with ladies of The Good Life, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too! And congrats to April and Christina on the births of their beautiful baby girls!

{one} This little guy has been pretty awesome lately….except when it’s bed time. We usually give him a bath, then read a few books and rock for a bit and then it’s time for bed. But lately he is NOT HAVING IT. Hudson doesn’t want to read, doesn’t want to rock, and basically just wants to run around naked and act like a crazy man. He knows its bedtime and wants to stall as long as possible. Lord help us!

{two} We are 0 for 3 for school photos. I’m sensing a theme here. If they were going for grumpy stare + mouth open + hair sticking straight up then they nailed it. At least he has hair in this photo! (look how fast my baby is growing up!)

{three} Puppies + Trucks = LOVE. We just started recording Paw Patrol for Hudson and it’s like someone got inside of his brain and created a show just for him! It’s about a team of puppies that each have their own rescue vehicle, truck, or airplane….so basically it’s Hudson’s dream come true!

{four} Our Citrus Lane box arrived yesterday….perfect timing as always! Citrus Lane is a subscription service of fun goodies for little ones. And if you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know we LOVE it! This time around we got paint with water book by Melissa and Doug (can’t wait to let Hudson paint this weekend!), a Hero lunch box by Goodbyn…we have a few other containers by Goodbyn and I love them so much…perfect for keeping our snacks fresh on the go! We also go a Parthenon sand mold and track sand roller by Hape, which will come in handy this summer for sure, and fresh feet wipes by Jasmine Seven AND some super yummy cookies from Back to Nature. Painting and cookies means Hudson is going to have the best weekend ever. Click here for 50% off your first box and free shipping! We’ve always loved our surprises from Citrus Lane.

{five} Don’t forget about my Huggies + Purse essentials giveaway! View the options here and enter the giveaway here.

Have a great weekend!

I love Hudson's school pictures! Especially side by side. I'm dying over how they're the same except he's just older! Too funny.

And now I'm excited for our citrus lame box (which should come today!). Especially if a goodbyn box is tucked in there. I'm a Tupperware hoarder so bring it on.

The school pictures crack me up! Without my husband acting like an idiot behind the camera, Noah gives that deer in the headlights stare and barely moves. I hope he outgrows that by the time we are doing school pictures 😉

Aww! Hudson's school pics!! Precious though!! Paw Patrol is such a cute kids show! My little cousins love to watch it!

Cute school pictures! I like how he has the same expression in each one 🙂

Good luck with bedtime – that can be so rough sometimes!

Love Hudson's school photos. So cute! He may not be smiling, but he is still precious! We have not watched Paw Patrol in our house yet, but I have a feeling it would be a hit with Caleb too. Maybe it would give me a break from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which is the reigning favorite right now!:) Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh, school pictures — the bane of every parent, teacher and student's existence! I still think he's super cute in those pictures though! I can just imagine a teacher standing behind the photographer trying to get him to smile and he's like "what ARE you doing?". Such a handsome dude!

Oh that TV show sounds so cute! Callie started refusing our bedtime routine a few months ago. We found some middle ground of I sit on the floor and she cuddles a pillow while we read. Sometimes she runs around or stands while I read but I found if I let her then she fights the bed part a little less. Good luck my friend I hate sleep battles – hope you have a few less soon!

Jett's doing EXACTLY the same thing with bedtime. It used to be so simple but suddenly he's stalling however he can to make bedtime later and later! I think it's the summer and all the sunlight!

5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but I’m so glad it’s Friday. First, because well, duh, tomorrow is Saturday. And second, it means it’s time for 5 on Friday!

{one} I’m swooning over this rainbow crayon organizer! I would love to make this for Hudson (someday). To all my fellow boy moms: Am I crazy to think that Hudson would actually use this? And, you know, actually put the crayons back in the right holder? I’m gonna go ahead and say yes, I’m crazy.

{two} Teething can suck it.

{three} I need two of these rugs for my kitchen. Can it be my birthday again? Or could someone be a peach and buy them for me? I’ll love you forever.
{four} I just realized it’s almost fall. Which means it’s almost Halloween and I have NO idea what Hudson is going to be! Have you seen the over-the-top-adorable costumes at Pottery Barn Kids. This kid is a werewolf! I can’t get over it!
{five} No technique of protecting yourself on the internet is perfect! If you want to be super safe, please watermark your images. You can use PicMonkey for free!

Love the pictures of Hudson, how cute. I hope he feels better with teething, too. My b/f Jeana is having a really difficult time with it, with her son. He is constantly sick 🙁

  4. hello erin says

    August 16, 2013 at 1:48 pm

Yup. Your crazy 🙂 although we only use blue crayons here (her fav color) so it MIGHT work? I'm so so excited for Halloween! I've been hunting for a costume for lex with zero luck…and teething is literally the worst thing about being a baby-mom (and probably a baby).

  5. Colleen Sullivan says

    August 16, 2013 at 1:54 pm

Stealing pictures? That's crazy! And really scary. Sometimes I get a bit freaked out about all of the exposure from blogging. I'm emailing you!

I think that crayon organization is SO cute! And, as a former Kindergarten teacher, I truly appreciate it's organization AND think that if you start teaching Hudson about it now he will eventually get it — probably sooner than you think!

We have a color / shape sorter for Owen and he loves sorting the shapes by color "properly". Of course he usually loses interest half way through, but at least he's trying!

Teething seriously SUCKS. O is getting one of his cuspids and that little buggar is taking it's time.

I hope you guys all have a good weekend!!

  6. Annie says

    August 16, 2013 at 1:58 pm

    I love that crayon organizer!

As for teething: oh, gosh. I've had my wisdom teeth growing in recently and the pain was absurd. Bless Hudson's heart; I hope it's over soon!

  7. {Jessica} says

    August 16, 2013 at 2:32 pm

Can you please share a 'how to' on how to right click disable? I'd love to do that too! The thought of someone using my pictures is so creepy!!!

I am LOVING the Pottery Barn costumes for this fall too. Trying to decide on one for my little man!:)

  8. Kasey Sutgrey says

    August 16, 2013 at 3:20 pm

If you are crazy, so am I because I so want to do that crayon project! And I agree about teething, worst thing ever!

  9. Lindsay says

    August 16, 2013 at 3:26 pm

    Julie,
I just emailed you for the instructions on how to right click disable, but I just noticed you can still drag photos from your blog and they save to the desktop. I guess we can never be truly safe! I panic about this thought a lot and it makes me even consider deleting my blog at times. It's a crazy world we live in!!

    Thanks, Lindsay

  10. Corinne says

Hi lady I would love to know the instructions. I don't have a family but it still kinda freaks me out.

  11. Katie says

    August 16, 2013 at 4:49 pm

Oh teething does stink! My little girl is getting her bottom molars right now – youch!

I sent you an email regarding the right click disabling – I watermark my photos already but I'd love to disable the right click as well.

  12. Jessica says

    August 16, 2013 at 5:26 pm

OMG that werewolf costume is adorable! And agreed – teething can SUCK it.

  13. Paige says

    August 16, 2013 at 5:29 pm

    Thanks!

    August 16, 2013 at 5:39 pm

I get super paranoid about my images being used elsewhere so I always try and write my blog title on them. Takes a little more effort but give me some piece of mind.

Not too excited about the next round of teething! Anything that has made the process easier for Hudson? I am so so excited for Halloween costumes too! And I emailed you about the blog safety…such creepers out there!

  17. Leah says

    August 16, 2013 at 6:26 pm

Sometimes it's a pain to watermark but I try to do it for every picture that Avery is in.

I haven't even started thinking about Halloween, I need to get on it ASAP.

And the teething bug has bitten my little one this week, sucks!

  18. Christina @ This Woman Cooks! says

    August 16, 2013 at 7:39 pm

I have no idea what my daughter is going to be for Halloween! There are just toooo many options. I'm sure I'm going to start stressing out about it soon. 😉 Ughh I hate teething, waking up screaming in the middle of the night is horrible.
