5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG
Happy Friday! I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for everybody’s favorite link up, 5 on Friday! You should join in on the fun!

{one} The terrible 2’s have hit us early. At least that’s what I’m hoping because if Hudson’s behavior actually gets worse once he’s 2, I’m in for it. This boy is DRAMA.

{two} I’m thinking of adding this print to my next gallery wall. It suits me, right?

 photo RenAug13_30.jpg

{three} It’s my sweet husband’s birthday tomorrow and I have a fun little surprise present for him. I can’t wait to give it to him!!!!

{four} Apple cider vinegar is my dirty clean little secret to healthy, shiny hair. I rinse my hair with a solution of 50% water 50% vinegar once every week or two and it does wonders! It helps clean out all of the products in my hair and leaves it so so soft. And it’s cheap. Win-win. Shampoo your hair, rinse with water, then rinse with the vinegar mixture. Leave it in while you shave your legs or whatever else you do in the shower. Then rinse it off thoroughly (or you will smell like vinegar, yuck!) and then condition your hair as usual. You’re welcome in advance. Word of warning: your husband will think you are crazy….but your hair will be pretty, so who cares!

{five} Leave it to Pinterest to make me feel inadequate  I need to make an advent calendar asap. Love this one by Echoes of Laughter.

Have a great weekend!

How many weeks old is Hudson now?? I thought we had an early case of terrible 2's as well, but at 75 weeks (17ish months) they go through a huge developmental leap which makes them very cranky/cryful/frustrated in the lead up. Hopefully that's what this is for us too, otherwise next year is going to be hard!!! Have a great weekend xx

Happy birthday to your husband!! And we're totally in the terrible two's too…its a knock down (me), drag out (him) fight every time we have to leave an elevator. Yes, an elevator. He loves them and would ride them all day long if I let him.

My child is total drama most of the time! Everyone keeps telling me that 3 is the worst…yikes. I'm scared.

Apple Cider Vinegar is so great for so many things!! I use it as a toner, a hair rinse & I even drink it when I have sinus/cold symptoms! Works wonders! I'm convinced that & coconut oil are the solution to most problems 😉 Haha

oh man, I'm in the "terrible 22 months" so I'm totally with you on the toddler front! Love the advent calendar idea! Also, I just want to say that your blog is wonderful, I wish I had known about it while I was nursing Mason that first year. Still the most difficult thing I've ever done. hands down! Happy Weekend 🙂

Toddlers are total drama! Mac is the same way! It does get better once they start talking and can let you know what they want. A little. Although talking brings on all new issues. And I'm totally trying the apple cider vinegar trick! Is it ok to use on colored hair??

I love apple cider vinegar. I like to put it on salads with a little oil so I could def. try it on my hair. I tried coconut oil once and it was pretty greasy for the next 2-3 washes and smelled funny. Max is in his whiny/tantrum stage as well. I try not to laugh and just ignore it but it's funny when he walks and puts himself in a corner when he doesn't get his way. I am trying to get him to use his words because he'll just start whining and pointing. I can't wait to hear about Jons surprise (happy birthday) and I also need an advent calendar but I am not sure I want to make one (too much work).

    Have a lovely weekend 🙂

My daughter is 15 months and all DRAMA. Daycare doesn't help the situation, I think she picks up on the older kids bad habits like hitting and melt downs. ugh make it stop!!

  20. Jenny says

Give yourself a break – Ikea has awesome (and cheap) avent calendars 🙂 I agree with Sara the tantrums actually get a little better once talking picks up. Callie defiantly went through a phase of just being DRAMA for almost a month and then just mellowed out as communication picks up. Just hang in there and keep stock in his favorite "treat" type foods! A little bribery goes a long way! HUGS!

We're going to do "Truth in the tinsel" this year for advent. I'm trying to decide whether I should buy an advent calendar for just make a paper chain like they suggest….I'll probably end up going with the free option 🙂

My son turned two this past weekend and I got my first two year old email from Babycenter (it was titled "My Preschooler" which I about died). Anyways it did say that everyone refers to the terrible two's but it typically comes during the second year of life which is what Hudson is experiencing now. Hopefully that makes you feel a little bit better:).

    Have a great weekend!

And ohhhh boy do I fell yah with the case of the terrible twos hitting a bit early, and hard! I hope that I haven't turned my babe into a spoiled little thing but man does she ever lose it so quickly if things don't go her way. It has to be the age , right. I am now totally freaked at what's to come.

It really is true when they say the days are long It really is true when they say the days are long but the years are short. One day I’m struggling to carry two babies at a time while wrangling a toddler and then next minute they are all off to school and practices and friends’ houses. With all three kids in school we’ve been thinking a lot about their futures and how we are going to one day pay for college. We set up a Michigan Education Trust 529 plan for each of our kids when they were babies and I am SO happy we did! With a MET account, we can pay for future college tuition at today’s prices. With MET’s discounted age-based pricing the earlier you start, the more you are able to save! Plus grandparents and other loved ones can contribute to my kids’ accounts too! With MET you get back what you put in if your child chooses a different path and the money goes with you if your child goes to school out of state. You can even transfer it to immediate family members and all contributions to MET plans are tax deductible! To learn more about how to set up a MET account and the benefits of starting your child’s account early, check out my stories or the link in my bio. @mieducationtrust #sponsored #SETwithMET #MI529 #collegesavings #METSept2023
