5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Happy Friday! I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for everybody’s favorite link up, 5 on Friday! You should join in on the fun!

{one} Every time a preview for Saving Mr. Banks comes on I get so excited….and I remind my husband how much I want to see it. I hope he gets the hint because it looks SO good! I LOVE Mary Poppins so I’m super intrigued!

 photo IMG_3168.jpg
{two} This little rain boot wearing turkey is in the process of getting four new teeth. So yeah, that’s been fun.

{three} I decided to display the Christmas
cards we receive by stringing them up with twine and cute clothes pins
above the doorway between our living room and dining room. It was perfect. Well….at least it was for the one day it was up. One side fell down…and is still down. And thanks to this stellar iphone pic, you can see where it lives now….and I’m okay with it. Hudson is obsessed with Christmas cards and likes it better this way.

 photo IMG_4264copy.jpg
{four} Thank you to everyone who linked up for the Holly Jolly Pajama party. There were SO many adorable kiddos in Christmas jammies! If you missed out on the fun, there is still time to join…the link up will be available until after Christmas here. I’m still working on visiting the last few entries and leaving some love!
{five} Several people have asked what I’ve done to help loose the baby weight…and my answer is always the same: breastfeeding + sensible diet + exercise. My husband and I had been going to the gym but it just got harder and harder to find time to go. Getting a baby sitter was a hassle and sending Hudson to the gym daycare after being in regular daycare all day was not an option. This past month I’ve been participating in The Workout Mama‘s bootcamp and oh my word, it is all kinds of awesome! Every Sunday, Tamara emails out the routines for that week…each one is different so you never get bored! She always includes a full length video workout and links to mini videos of each exercise, so you can be sure you are doing everything correctly. All of the routines are such an amazing workout but at the same time really easy to follow along with. I was nervous about it at first but once I got going it was so fun! But hard too….the good kind of hard. Afterwards I always feel like I got such a good workout…and having Tamara there to virtually coach you is invaluable! She has helped me whip my post-baby booty into shape! The best part is, I could do all of my workouts from home while Hudson was sleeping. Tamara has so many great resources on her blog to help you get in shape AND is offering a free Christmas workout which you better believe I will be participating in!

Happy Friday!

Aw, Sawyer has those jammies too. They are the cutest. I'm going to be so sad when the season's over and we have to put all the xmas PJs away.

Also, your workout link–I need to try. I'm just slacking on getting to the gym and that needs to change!

5 on Friday

Happy Friday! Let’s get started with 5 on Friday. Linking up as usual with the ladies from The Good Life Blog, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and  Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too!
THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
{one} My name is Julie, and I’m a pajama-holic. I know it’s only September, but I’m already on the hunt for cute Christmas pjs! I’m obsessed. I learned last year that it’s better to start the search now and not wait until November. Because stuff sells out FAST! A few months ago I pre-ordered a few pairs for Hudson and I can’t even remember what they look like! And the gap better release their collection asap…they always have the cutest stuff!
 photo IMG_1474-1.jpg
{two} One year check-ups stick. I took Hudson to his doctor’s appointment this week and he got 4 shots. My heart was broken. And then I snapped a photo of his chubby thighs with his 4 band aids and he got SO mad at me. I had every intention of instagraming the photo…but then something changed my mind. I guess he needs a little privacy now, right? I don’t want him to look back on my blog and be embarrassed. Moms: How do you find balance between blogging about your life but keeping some things private, for your kid’s sake? I’d love to know!
{three} I’m on the hunt for a good new fall nail color. I’m thinking grey, burgandy, or maybe even navy? But I’m just stuck. Does anyone have a favorite shade of Essie polish?

 photo IMG_1722.jpg
{four} We went to a wedding last weekend and have another one this weekend! And then one more next month. I swear we had zero weddings last year and then a ton this year. Good thing I LOVE weddings! At last week’s wedding Hudson got his own box of goodies during dinner. It was the cutest thing ever.
{five} Three words: Pumpkin Doughnut Holes. Two more words: Yes Please.

Good question on balancing the blog…when Cameron was first born, I created a separate blog that's private. The pictures are intimate because they are some of our firsts as a family. Whenever I have a picture that I want to keep (god forbid I lose my iPhone pics), I post it on there.

How in the world to get nail polish to not chip? Whenever I paint my own nails, they chip within a few days!!

Have a great weekend, and have fun at the weddings!

We also have one in October. Baby C was invited, but how do you know if you can bring your babe or not – do you ask? do they have to be on the invite? that always confuses me:)
