37 Weeks

How far along? 37 weeks! And an update two weeks in a row…I’m on a roll!
Maternity clothes? Yes…..all day every day.
Stretch marks? Not really….but I’m not really checking!
Sleep: Much better than last week. I’m up once or twice to use the restroom but that’s it.

Best moment this week: Mother’s Day celebrations for sure! I’ve been a little down in the dumps these past couple weeks due to my hip and back pain, but on Mother’s Day I felt better than I had in weeks. And my boys spoiled me with lots of hugs and kisses, my favorite bagels, flowers, maternity photos printed and framed, rest time for me, and my husband doing the grocery shopping (which is my least favorite chore!) and picking up dinner….it’s the little things that make me happy.
Miss Anything? I miss wearing normal clothes. And I miss being able to do normal things like putting on shoes or shaving my legs without having to contort my body in to weird positions!
Movement: Lots and lots of movement up in here still. Baby is head down and likes to head butt me in the bladder.
Food cravings: Same as last week: give me all the fruit! And juice! And lemonade/ice tea!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Thankfully no…this week has been sickness free!
Gender: We still don’t know, but my husband and I are both thinking it’s a boy. The thought of another rambunctious little boy is kind of daunting…but I would love to be a boy mom again! And we have narrowed our list of baby names down to like 5 or 6 per gender, which was a HUGE accomplishment! It’s going to be a game day decision for sure.
Labor Signs: Nope, zero. I opted to not be “checked” at this appointment because I don’t feel any different and that check is pretty uncomfortable!

Symptoms: Thank you for all of your sweet comments about my hip and back pain. I am so happy to report that I feel 100 times better this week than I did the previous week. I can walk again without pain and the pain isn’t waking me up at night. I haven’t had to take pain meds in over a week. I am so THRILLED to be feeling better! I still ache at the end of the day but it’s nothing compared to my 3 weeks of torture.
Belly Button in or out? Same as last week….it’s starting to pop out and is the WEIRDEST THING EVER.
Wedding rings on or off? On man…they are off….finally. I mentioned on Monday that they were stuck and we tried EVERYTHING: soap, ice, Vaseline, Preparation H, Windex, drinking a lot of water, and the youtube elastic/floss trick. NOTHING worked. And my finger got all kinds of mad and swelled up even more. So…..they were cut off on Tuesday by our very nice and kind jeweler. I was on the verge of a panic attack because my finger just felt trapped. And yes, there were tears. And my finger still looks battered. So ladies….take your rings off now!
Mood: Good!
Looking forward to:  Meeting this baby….I’m ready!

SO, so glad that your pain has subsided. I know that must be a HUGE relief! Being pregnant is hard enough with the normal aches and pains – don't need any additional ones, that's for sure! I am getting so excited for you guys. Any day now and that sweet babe will be here! Can't wait to see if it's a he or she!:)

Yay for being full term! 🙂 So glad you got the rings off…I'm sure that is an easy fix compared to losing a finger or something ;). Can't wait to see if it is a boy or girl and what name you guys choose!

You look so cute, and I'm DYING to know if you're having a boy or a girl!!! 🙂 YOU HAD TO CUT YOUR RING OFF??? Stressful. 🙁 Glad it's ok (and you're ok!) though!

    May 21, 2015 at 7:55 pm

You look so good! I'm so glad you are feeling better and are getting some good sleep – it makes all the difference! And I'm so sorry to hear about your rings. One morning I went to make some scones and couldn't take my wedding band off, it freaked me out! I tried and tried but it wouldn't budge. After I let it rest for little while and I had run my hand under cold water for a little bit, I pulled the band off, it hasn't been back on since. I keep checking my other rings frequently, and will pull them off at the first sign of stuck-ness. Hopefully you get your ring fixed soon and are able to wear it just as soon!

37 Weeks

DSC_1219
How far along? 37 Weeks. My baby will be here in 3 weeks! Isn’t that crazy? Looks like baby boy is still breech. I’ve been going to a chiropractor trained in the Webster Technique 3 times a week to help adjust my hips so that the baby can turn….so we’ll see if that helps. If anything it feels good! I’m also swimming and doing yoga. I feel much more calm about it than I did last week.
Maternity clothes? Still a mix of both maternity and non-maternity.
Stretch marks? Nope….just 3 weeks to go until I’m in the clear!

Sleep: It’s still difficult to get comfortable, but seeing the chiropractor has definitely helped with my hip and back pain. I highly recommend it to all of my pregnant friends!
Best moment this week: Relaxing over the weekend and getting ready for baby. The husband put together the swing, bouncy seat, and installed the car seat, so we are ready to go.
Miss Anything? I miss being able to paint my toes and shave my legs without breaking a sweat!
Movement: Still lots of movement.
Food cravings: Watermelon, lemonade, and strawberries.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Baby boy
Labor Signs: Zero. And we want it to stay that way. My c-section is scheduled for September 5th and I’d really like to make it to that day.
Symptoms: Swelling in my hands when I get too hot…but that’s about it.

Belly Button in or out? It’s flat.
Wedding rings on or off? On…most of the time.
Mood: I’m feeling much better this week. Still hoping that baby boy turns sometime soon, but in the end we just want a healthy baby.
Looking forward to: My final baby shower this weekend and finishing up the nursery with a little help from my mom. It’s so close to being done!

    Just wondering because I don't know and I'm curious…

If your plan is to have a c-section, what is the point of trying to get your little man to turn? Just in case he makes his appearance before then?

It's getting so close! Glad the chiropractor trips are helping with the discomfort. I've heard that seeing a chiropractor during pregnancy is a must.

  21. Megan Wynn Volnoff says

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be sure to take it really easy on yourself these last few weeks, especially with that breech baby. I tried and tried to make myself go into labor (I was so miserable) and then found out that if I had put myself into labor we'd be in a pickle since she was breech 🙂 Use it as an excuse to do NOTHING! Prepping for a C section? Remain calm, everyone tells you all you feel is pressure, and this is true, but it's just weird 🙂 You look so great and so stylish to be so pregnant! I hope that baby turns for you!

  22. Jen says

    August 16, 2012 at 7:47 pm

I am way behind in blog world and I just saw that baby R is breech. I know the feeling and I was curious about the chiropractor so I'll be interested to see how that works for you. I really did try everything else I could and I've heard the music/yoga positions work for some people and others not. Once you get it in your head that a c-section is quite possible and start preparing yourself it isn't bad. On a scale of 1-10 on labor I felt a 1 and baby boy was here SO fast! The recovery is a little rough the first few weeks but your husband and mom will be around so you will be just fine if you need to have one. All that matters is baby R is here safe and sound and heck you can even get ready and do your hair and makeup! See, lots of pluses here.

  23. Carey says

    August 16, 2012 at 10:06 pm

I didn't know baby was breech! Gosh, come onnnn chiropractor — help that baby turn the right way! 🙂 If not, at least you know THE DAY that your sweet bundle will arrive. THAT part is kind of convenient 😉

Full term baby! That's awesome news! No worries about baby being breech – they turn all the time. And if he doesn't, then a c-section is really not horrible. I went through 17 hours of labor and then had to have a c-section. But honestly, the recovery isn't terrible and you basically forget all about it in a few weeks. I'm only 3 months out and I'm already itching for another one! Who knew babies were addicting?!

As the chief advocate for my kids, I always want to make decisions that are the best for them and for our family. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for these little loves of mine, and I know all of you can relate! That is why I vaccinate my kids. Vaccinating your child is one of the safest and most effective things you can do to protect them against serious preventable diseases. If you live in Michigan like we do, it’s time to schedule that well-child visit and make sure your kids are up to date on their vaccinations! I’ve done a lot of research and talked to our pediatrician at length about what is best for my family and I would encourage you to do so too. It’s normal to have questions—it makes you a good parent! But make sure you are getting answers from credible sources. Remember, vaccines are safe, effective, and help protect everyone. Ultimately I decided to vaccinate my children because not doing so puts them at risk of contracting a potentially deadly disease. I want the best for my kids.
