Bath time is often a bit crazy in my house. Three kids + busy days + lots of water often equals a giant mess for mama. But really, I love it. Bath time has always been one of my favorite times of the day. I look forward to unwinding at the end of the day, watching my kids play in the tub, smelling their sweet soft freshly bathed skin, and then most of all: helping them get in to their pjs and then putting them to bed! Haha! I guess I should say bedtime is my favorite part of the day! Can you relate? So today I decided to share my top 3 ways to enjoy bath time with your kids….even when it’s crazy.
1. Don’t stress the mess. Bath time can create a giant mess…I know this all too well. With three kids who love to splash and play in the tub our bath time is always followed by clean up time. Bath time is usually at the end of a sometimes stressful or busy day, and it’s easy to just want to rush through it. But I’m telling you it’s SO much better if you just make it fun! So instead of letting the mess and water everywhere stress me out, I just embrace it. I tell myself it’s just water. It can be cleaned up when we are done. Just enjoy it. Because I know our bath days are limited. One day my kids will want privacy and will be able to take care of themselves. But for now they need me….and they WANT me there. So I’m going to do it. And I’m going to go all out. Bubbles, toys, crayons, paint. You name it, we’ve done it! Now that my big kids are a little bit older (6 and 4) they can help clean up after bath time is over. And they actually like to do it! So don’t let the mess stress you out and keep you from enjoying bath time with your kids.
2. Make it a date! Since I have three kids, carving out some one-on-one time with each of them throughout the day is often difficult. Whenever I get the chance to do our bath time routine with just one child instead of all three together, I jump at it! They LOVE to spend some time with mama while I wash them, watch them play, and give them my complete attention. Moms of multiple kids know exactly what I’m talking about. There is something magical about spending a little time watching your child in a bubble bath. My kids love having mama all to themselves. I’m very lucky that my husband is home each night for bath time because without him, this wouldn’t be possible!
3. Bubble it up! Bath time is ALWAYS better with bubbles. Lots and lots of bubbles. For a while now I’ve struggled to find a bubble bath that we all love. My kids just want lots of bubbles, but I want one that gently cleans and cares for their skin, smells great, and is safe. That’s why I’m so glad I found Kandoo Moisturizing Bubble Bath! Finally a bubble bath that actually makes a lot of bubbles!
Kandoo’s bubble bath is hypoallergenic and made with shea and cocoa butter to help maintain skin’s natural moisture balance and prevent drying. It is also dermatologist tested as well as sulfate and paraben free. So I can feel good about using it on my kids. And oh my word, it smells SO good. I want to take a bath and use it now!!!
How do you make bath time memorable and easy? You can find Kandoo Moisturizing Bubble Bath on Amazon in the 32 oz size.
Thank you to Kandoo for sponsoring this post. All opinions, and my love for their bubble bath, are my own.
Kids’ bath products always smell so good. I don’t have children of my own, but might pick up some of this for my own bubble baths! 🙂
We have six kids, most of them take showers now. My oldest daughter does bath time for the baby and there’s always peals of laughter coming from the bathroom during his bath time! I’m usually called in at the end to see something funny he’s doing, and I usually dry him off. Actually I more like snuggle him in a big towel and I rock him till he’s dry-which is the best part!
Bath time is my favorite time. I have always loved baths so this is my favourite quality time with them hehe. I just jump in with them and its fun and relaxing for all.
I agree that bath time is always better with bubbles! My son loves his bath time. It’s always so much fun.
I love this. Bath time is always a struggle in our house!
I couldn’t agree more-bath time is definitely a great time for one on one with kids!
