18 Weeks

Hey look, I did a bump-date! I don’t plan on doing them regularly but might just sneak one in here and there!
How far along? 18 weeks. But it feels like so much longer. I’m so much bigger this time around, which my doctor said is normal. I’m hoping it levels out soon otherwise I’m going to be a whale come June!
Maternity clothes? For sure. I looked at my 18 week bump-date with Hudson and I was still squeezing into my regular pants with the help of a the belly band. Oh to be young and skinny again.
Stretch marks? Nothing new on that front!
Sleep: It’s all good over here. I’m crazy thirsty at night, but knew that would happen, so no big deal.
Best moment this week:  Finally starting to feel a little bit better…and going several days without throwing up. Hopefully this means the sickness is going away for good!
Miss Anything? Yes…feeling cute. I felt super cute when I was pregnant with Hudson. And I just don’t this time around. My husband says I’m just as cute as before (he’s a keeper), but I just feel different…you know?
Movement: Yes, finally! I felt Hudson at 18 weeks too, but I heard the second time around you feel the baby sooner….but not for me. My placenta is in the front this time, so my doctor warned me that I might not feel the baby move right away. Bummer. But I totally feel it now and I forgot how exciting it is! By the way, have I mentioned how great my doctor is? The doctor who I saw during my first pregnancy left the practice to be the medical director at the hospital, so I had to switch to someone else….my mom works in labor and delivery so she recommend my new doc…and so far I couldn’t be happier!
Food cravings: Cottage cheese, blackberries, and salt and vinegar chips are totally my jam.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes, major motion sickness, especially if I’m not the one driving or I’m in the car for more than 20 minutes. And just random sudden attacks of sickness too. But it’s been a few days, so fingers crossed!
Gender: No clue! We’ve decided not to find out and I’m so excited to be surprised!
Labor Signs: It always cracks me up when they ask this question at my doctor’s appointment. I sure hope that I don’t have labor signs this early. Also, I should probably read up a little on labor since I’ve totally forgotten everything!
Symptoms: Just the bump! And I’m tired….all the time!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Besides feeling not-so-cute, I couldn’t be happier.
Looking forward to:  June! I want to meet this little boy or girl!

Awe! Yay for not finding out! AND I hope you stop being sick ASAP. Although I'm fully with you on not feeling "cute". Number dos is a stinker in that department 😉

Well I think you are looking fabulous! I'm much bigger this time around too, but I love a big pregnant belly. You look to be carrying high, so my guess is for a girl!

You look adorable, Julie! But I know how you feel – I don't feel cute this time either. And oh girl, those salt and vinegar chips. I have been eating those things like they are going out of style. Your bump looks high, so could be a girl (you know what those old wives tales say!) Either way would be so fun! Hudson will be a great brother:)

I think you look super cute, mama!!! But I do know the feeling! ;). And I can't get enough salt & vinegar chips!!!

Aaaaaahhhhh aren't you SO CUTE?! Because you totally are. I cannot believe you're already 18 weeks!! What??? And go you for being surprised… how fun!!

You look great! I admire you being able to wait on the gender! I don't think I would be able to do that but it will make it even more special when the time comes!!!

Girl you do look adorable!!! It took me awhile to feel cute during my second pregnancy too but you'll hit your stride in no time 🙂

Yay for an update! I can totally relate to so much of this! Luckily, I think your bump gets bigger at first and then kind of slows down…at least that's what my doc told me and I "feel' like it's true, for the most part. But yes, I did not feel as cute the second time around…although I think you look fabulous! So fun that you're keeping the gender a secret!! xx

You LOOK totally cute but I totally get not feeling cute. I feel SO TIRED and gross – lucky for us, we have sweet husbands. 😉 PS I am totally on the random bump update, too…I can't manage to do weekly ones, plus I feel like not too much changes every week. I hope the sickness stays away – I stopped taking Zofran around 19 weeks and still feel icky sometimes, but I am SO happy to not be taking it anymore!

You are adorable!! All my pregnancies ended up at the same weight although I gained it at different points each time! I'm so glad you like your doctor! It makes such a difference in the whole experience (although I always joke about how they drop you after the baby is born – you see them week after week and month after month and then once more and not again for a year!)

18 Weeks

Photobucket
How far along? 18 weeks. Baby is the size of a sweet potato and is 5 and 1/2 inches head to rump.
Maternity clothes? Not yet. still squeezing into my pants with the help of the belly band.
Stretch marks? Not yet.
Sleep: It’s getting harder to find a comfortable position when I sleep. I’m just not a fan of sleeping on my side!

Best moment this week:  Feeling the baby move (at least I think I did!)
Miss Anything? Nope.
Movement: I think so! If I lay down and am really still every now and then I can feel little pops and flutters going on in there…I’m not 100% sure it’s the baby, but I think it might be!
Food cravings: Spaghetti, ice cream, and cucumbers.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Right now just raw carrots and broccoli.
Gender: April 16th can’t come soon enough.
Labor Signs: Way too early.
Symptoms: Sort of sore everywhere, especially my back.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Excited
Looking forward to:  Finding out the gender and setting up our crib (it arrived yesterday!)

It's really the most amazing feeling ever. My little one is kicking me in the ribs as I type this! He's been really active these last couple days!
