If you follow me on instagram (and if you don’t, why aren’t you?) you know that my husband and I took a quick trip to California. And you know what? I’m pretty darn proud of myself. Because not only did we pack in tons of fun in those four days, we also survived being away from this guy….
And I didn’t even cry. I still can’t believe it.
My work sent me out there and I was worried I would be lonely without both of my boys…so my husband tagged along and it was the best decision ever. Hudson was in good hands with his grand parents and I didn’t feel all alone.
We packed in the fun with a trip to the Cheescake Factory, anAngels game, a fun visit with my family, and we went to Disneyland! We hit up all the rides at Disneyland, ate the most delicious corn dog ever, and got to spend a few hours with this girl….who of course showed up with gummy bears, as promised.
By our last day I was pretty anxious to get home and squeeze Hudson and was so happy to see him at the airport! He did great while we were gone but as soon as we were back we could tell he was saving all his best behavior for mommy and daddy. And by best, I mean worst. I don’t blame him though, his little routine was rocked in a big way. Thankfully an authentic Mickey Mouse from Disneyland seems to have worked it’s magic and he is just happy as can be to have mommy and daddy home.
And now I’m exhausted. Send wine and candy my way.
What a fun trip! I want to go! 🙂
So jealous of your vacay…and getting to hang with Erin…and your gummy bears!
So happy you guys got to slip away for a quick trip! I can only imagine how hard it was but, I've heard & I'm sure I'll learn that it's certainly necessary for Mommy & Daddy to have good, quality huaband & wife time!! Glad the Mickey worked for Hudson!!!
So much fun! I hate leaving my sons but it's good for all of us to have a little time away every now and then!
You need a long weekend STAT. But I had so so so much fun with you and Jon at Disneyland! I loved spending the day with you… Although pretty sure I miss you that much more now 🙂
Oh my gosh… could your little boy BE any cuter!! Vacations are so needed!!
Also, thank you for your prayers for my SIL. They are always appreciated even months later.
What a fun trip! I love going to Disneyland/world as an adult!! It's so fun. 🙂 I bet you couldn't wait to squeeze that sweet boy, though!
Sounds like so much fun! That's great that you had a getaway just the two of you, even if it was for work.
Loved seeing the pictures from your trip – it looked like you had a great time! It's always hard to leave your little ones, but nothing beats when they see you again and are so happy!
Oh yes, the post grandparents readjustment is always pretty rough 🙂 Luckily it doesn't last long!
So glad you had a nice trip!
It sounds like you had a great time! When my little guy comes home from the grandparents after a stay he is always ready to show his best behavior. You would think he was spoiled the entire weekend or something. 🙂
Oh it is so hard to leave these little ones isn't it, but don't you find yourself a better mama when you return, having had a little break?! I feel that way even after going to pilates for a few hours!!!!!!! xx
Thanks for posting, my husband and I are talking about a trip to Hawaii sans kids 😬
Is the anything transition tough with toddlers?! Looks like a really fun trip and how awesome that it was a "work" trip! 🙂
So glad you guys had a good trip – it was so fun keeping up with you on IG! I know you were glad to get back to your little man!:)
That song plays frequently on our current Pandora station and it's so catchy. I love it!
Hope you guys had a nice break!
New follower…heyyyy! We always hit up an Angels game and Disneyland when visiting LA, you did it right 😉 Must have been refreshing to feel like a kid again, right?!
Whitney
So glad you had such a great trip! You hit up all the best places in Southern California while you were here also! 🙂 What could be better than work paying for you to go to Disneyland and see your friend?
