In some ways, it’s hard being the middle child. Although I never quite understood how any child could feel left out, from a parent’s perspective, it sometimes is the middle child who slips through the cracks. Our days are structured around two major things: our oldest child’s school schedule and our youngest child’s nap schedule. Sadie the middle child just has to go with the flow.
Luckily, she doesn’t seem to mind. Except when something major happens. Like loosing her favorite stuffed kitty “kiki”. When Hudson, our first born, started showing signs that he was really attached to a stuffed puppy, I immediately went out and bought another one as a back up. It saved us from many toddler meltdowns! If we couldn’t find his puppy, we just busted out the backup and he was none the wiser. We made a point not to take puppy with us in the car so that he wouldn’t accidentally get lost somewhere. He caught on one day that there were two puppies and demanded both of them at the same time. And now, at five years old, Hudson still sleeps with both of his pups at night.
But that was our first child.
With Sadie, we weren’t as diligent. She didn’t attach to the pink bunny lovey I purchased for her as a baby (one I knew I could easily buy a back up for). She fell in love with a black and white kitty she named “kiki” that we randomly picked up while shopping together one day. We thought it was cute and that it would pass. But it didn’t. Kiki became her most favorite toy. And before I knew it, I was pregnant with baby number three….and totally forgot to purchase a back up kiki. Until it was too late.
So kiki is a treasured pet in our house! There is NO substitute! Now that I have three kids, it’s getting harder and harder to keep up with all of their things. The coats, the shoes, the clothes, the socks, the toys. One day Sadie brought kiki with us for a busy morning of errands and I didn’t realize it…until it was too late.
Thankfully, I did do one smart thing. I purchased a Tile for kiki. And it has to be one of my top ten parenting moves. All you have to do is attach Tile to anything you don’t want to lose and keep track of it with the Tile app.
Once we realized kiki was missing, I simply opened up my Tile app and located kiki right away! Kiki was left in the grocery store bakery….and we were still in the parking lot. Yes! Parenting win! See that map? It’s showing me kiki’s exact location!
You can put Tile on anything you don’t want to loose! Your camera, a special toy, wallet, keys…you name it! If your Tile is within the 100 foot Bluetooth range, it will play a loud tune until you find it! This has helped us countless times when kiki is simply buried under other toys in our house and Sadie needs her RIGHT NOW. If you keep your tile app running in the background (which I do!) it will remember the last place and time you had your item. Isn’t that a lifesaver?
I can also press the button on our Tile to find my phone! I won’t admit to how many times I’ve had to do this….
Tile is the world’s best-selling Bluetooth tracker! You can use Tile and the Tile app to connect you to the world’s largest lost-and-found community, where friends and strangers come together to find everything that matters. Tile and the community of Tile users helps locate two million items every day.
I’m buying getting some more as Christmas presents! It’s something everyone can love!
OMG! I never thought to put the tile on our lovie. Brillant! Seriously, you just saved me. We have one lovie. Just one.
My worst nightmare… We had a close call once when we were couch shopping. Bunny made it into the store and then got tucked away into a new couch. We searched the whole place to find him. The tile would be a game changer.
That is such an amazing idea! That would have been so helpful when my daughter left her beloved BunBun in Toys R Us!
