Strong Like Mom

Tracking Pixel

Everything I know, I learned from my mom. She is the strongest, smartest, most caring, hardest working, and best person I know. I want to pass her example onto my children by teaching them to be kind to others, be helpful, to stand up for themselves, to be responsible and trustworthy…and the list goes on and on. There are a million things I want my kids to know and learn. And the best way I can do that is by being the best mom I can to them. I’m teaming up with Hefty® today to talk about being a strong mom!

My mom has always been independent. She raised me by herself….that alone just boggles my mind now that I am a mom. Being a mom is the HARDEST job I’ve ever had…and I can’t do it without support. But she did. And she was always there for me. And still is! She’s taught me to be strong, just like her. And I’m beyond lucky that she lives right next door to me…because three kids wear me out most days. And I just need my mom.

I often get asked “how do you do it all?” and honestly, I don’t. I do what I can each day. I try to give my kids my best. Some days I fail and some days I do pretty decent job of it. And I have lots of help. Being a strong mom means being able to recognize you need help, and to ask for it. So I ask my mom for help a lot! I’ve learned that the mothering never ends. You will always need your mom, just in a different way than when you were a child. And that gives me comfort. I like to be needed. I like that my children need me, and that “only mama can do it” or “mama knows how” or “I just want mama.” But don’t get me wrong. When all three want only mama at once, it’s crazy hard!

But I’ve never loved anyone as fiercely as I do my children and I’ve never felt so many emotions all at once.  It’s a conscious, daily decision to do the best that I can for them- as a role model, and as their chef, professional picker-upper of all the things, ouchie kisser, taxi driver, personal stylist, and mama. And I learned it all from my own mom.

Motherhood is challenging on an easy day. It’s also the most wonderful and rewarding job I could have ever hoped for. Motherhood is my greatest blessing and I wouldn’t trade the chaos for anything.

My mom taught me that moms always know best. And now that I’m a mom I know how true that statement really is! Mom knows best, especially when it comes to spending wisely and marking smart decisions for her family. Hefty® Ultra Strong™ trash bags offer “Hefty Hefty Hefty” strength at a low price.

Just like Hefty®’s trash bags, moms are Ultra Strong in everything that they do. Hefty® is celebrating strong moms who tackle strong messes and make it look easy! This commercial by Hefty® cracks me up and is so true!

Hefty® Ultra Strong™ trash bags feature Triple Action Technology to resist tears, punctures and leaks. The ARM & HAMMER™ odor neutralizer to keep smells at bay and they have a tear resist technology to hold up to even the biggest messes. Thanks for such a sweet post. Mothering is indeed a difficult job requiring physical and emotional strength you may not know you have until you are tested……and you will be tested! There is no greater reward for me as a mother than to watch my daughter become a wonderful mother. I am thankful that I have the opportunity daily to see what a loving mother you are. Being a single mother was difficult and the tremendous responsibility sometimes overshadowed the moments of joy that motherhood can bring. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to enjoy your children in a way that I was sometimes not able to do when you were a little girl. Love you!
