There is nothing more important to me than the health and well-being of my kids. As a busy mom of three it’s been a crazy few years. I’m starting to get back in the swing of things and adjust to new routines and schedules an it feels SO good! One thing that’s on my to-do list is to make sure my kids are up to date on their vaccinations. Because of an increase in tele-health visits, many kids in Kent County are behind on their routine childhood vaccinations. And I totally get it! Things have been crazy! But it’s never too late to catch up on any vaccines your child might have missed. #ad Well friends, after successfully avoiding COVID-19 for over two years it finally hit our family. I am living proof that the COVID-19 vaccine is not only safe, but it works to prevent severe disease if you experience a breakthrough case like I did! I made the choice that was right for me and my family and got vaccinated against COVID-19 back when it was available to me. Since I was vaccinated, I experienced very mild symptoms, but what is the most amazing is that the vaccine protected two members of our family from getting infected at all! I am SO grateful for that! Michigan has expanded vaccine eligibility, so children 6 months+ can now be vaccinated. @michiganhhs has made it really easy to sign up either with your local health department, doctor’s office or pharmacy. If you have questions about vaccines, make sure to seek a trusted source with answers based on medical science. Remember, the decision is yours to make. Just as I will be respectful of your choice, please be respectful of mine! #SpreadHopeNotCovid #midoseofhope

For my kid's school lunch, I’m sharing my tips and tricks for packing a "picky eaters" lunch box using Sara Lee® Premium Meats!

Through this partnership Sara Lee® Premium Meats has helped raise over 75,000 meals for kids in need!

So moms of picky eaters raise your hand! Thankfully my picky eater likes Sara Lee® Premium Meats Honey Roasted Turkey Breast…. just as long as it’s not in a sandwich. One of my kids doesn’t like sandwiches…which just proves that what goes around comes around because I was also a kid who didn’t like sandwiches. Remember, school lunch is not a time to introduce new foods…it’s a time to pack nutritious items your child will actually eat. My tip is to find 2 or 3 foods you feel good about them eating and don’t sweat the rest. I’ve discovered I can roll a cheese stick up using two thin slices of Sara Lee® Premium Meats' Honey Roasted Turkey and it is picky eater approved! I also include sliced-up apples and mini bell peppers (the only veggie and fruit he approves of) in his lunch.
