My “Mom” Style

 photo IMG_0406.jpg
I hate the term “mom style”. Just because I’m a mom doesn’t mean I need to stop caring about what I look like. I think my style is slightly more conservative than it was before I had Hudson, but it’s mostly the same. However, I now am always on the search for something that moves well, is comfortable yet cute, and can hold up to little hands constantly tugging at me!

All summer I’ve been dying to wear this dress again. It’s quickly become my favorite. Easy to dress up or down. Easy to wear. That’s a great “mom style” piece in my book!

This time around I paired it with my Morrocroft Earrings from Poppy Style. I love the little pop of green. Did you know that green is my favorite color? Bet you thought it was red, right?

I also wore my Queens Bracelet, also from Poppy Style. I’ve mostly been wearing simple pieces lately but love dressing them up with fun accessories.

I think I’ve worn this bracelet just about every day since it came in the mail! (The other two bracelets are recent finds from Forever 21…but I can’t find them on the website!)

Best photo of the day right here. Hudson standing on his own…and me spazzing out as usual.

Hudson approves of mommy’s outfit!
Now, meet Madeline, the sweet owner of Poppy Style…and the one responsible for dressing me in some of the prettiest jewelry ever!
Madeline lives in Charlotte, NC and started Poppy Style about 5 years ago. Her beautiful jewelry boutique is named after her cutie pie dog Poppy…which I think is the most adorable thing ever!
Here’s what Madeline has to say about Poppy Style:
I’ve always loved jewelry & accessories. I used to want to open up own boutique, but then that changed into me wanting to design my own jewelry. So to start, I started buying jewelry wholesale and making just a few pieces of my own to learn. It was truly just a jump that I took. And luckily, I have a very supportive husband and he has supported me following my dreams.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces:
Charlotte Necklace / Infinity Necklace / Montford Earrings / Knot Bangles

Some of my favorite things: cuddle time with my dog, Poppy; date nights with my hubby; new accessories; hand written notes; champagne in pretty glasses; appetizers as a meal; anything sparkly and gold; Lilly Pulitzer.
Madeline is a girl after my own heart! Be sure to check out Poppy Style!

How has your style changed since becoming a mom?

I can only wear dresses on non activity days… Damn the socks rule for parents at all our activities!! Target dresses are the best for "mom style"… Way less traumatic when they get paint and strawberries on them 😉

You have such great style! I am loving that jewelry, and so fun to find a jewelry company based right here in Charlotte where I live! Love the shout-out to one of my favorite streets in the QC with the Montford earrings 🙂

I love her jewelry! I have gravitated towards jewelry more now because uou can wear a plain, comfy outfit and add some cute jewelry and it can transform the outfit!

Hudson is such a big boy standing all on his own!!!

You are so pretty Julie! I love you with those green earrings! Green is absolutely my favorite color too — probably why Owen and I are always in green.

My wardrobe has definitely changed since I became a mom– especially since I'm no longer heading in to school to teach everyday. I wear a lot more cotton now, t-shirts mostly and a lot less blouses.

You look so skinny!! Great "mom" style! I use the excuse that I dress like I do because I'm a mom, but I dressed lazy before too. Hehe
