Thank you again for all of your sweet comments on my blog, facebook, and instagram! You sure know how to make a girl’s day!
Okay, so I promised to answer alllll your questions….
How far along are you? I’m 15 weeks as of today! I have a feeling this pregnancy is going to go by super fast.
When are you due? June 10! I had to have a c-section with Hudson but would really love to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) this go around. So we’ll see!
How are you feeling? Well, I’ve been feeling all sorts of awful. When I was pregnant with Hudson I felt mildly nauseous basically the entire 1st trimester, which was zero fun. This time around it’s been a lot worse. I’ve been really sick, throwing up, you name it. And I’ve had just about every other sickness too, including two stomach bugs, and a sore throat. Luckily, I am starting to feel more and more like myself, and thanks to some Zofran, I’m not throwing up anymore. I also had to pay a little visit to the ER in the middle of the night a few weeks ago. I woke up with really bad chest pains and was having a hard time breathing. The doctors thought I might have a blood clot in my lungs so they recommend a CT scan…and of course I’m assigned a resident who says the risk of a CT is “fetal demise.” AND THAT WAS ALL SHE SAID. So basically, you need a CT, but your baby might die. So of course I lost it. And luckily my mom works with my doctor and knew that he was on call and actually in the hospital, so she walked upstairs to talk to him and he came down to the ER to let me know it was totally safe to do the CT scan. And that my baby would be fine. And that residents are scared of pregnant women. So…long story short, I had the CT, they didn’t find a clot, silly resident wanted to do more tests, I said no, they sent me home, and I’m fine.
Are you going to find out if it’s a boy or girl? We found out with Hudson because there was NO WAY I could wait one more day to find out. But this time around, we are thinking about letting it be a surprise. With Hudson we knew he was a boy and we knew his birthday (thanks to a breech baby)….and I guess it took some of the fun and excitement out of things. So we might be surprised this time around. We still have a few weeks to think about it, so we might changed our minds!
Do you want a boy or a girl? We would love for Hudson to have a brother. We would love for him to have a sister. We really do not care either way….we just want a healthy baby. I know everyone says that, but we can see ourselves having a boy or a girl…and we are excited by either one! Also another reason we might wait until delivery day to find out the sex.
What does Hudson think about all of this? Hudson has no clue what is happening. I think Wrigley knows more than he does. Hudson says “NO baby” when we ask him if he wants a baby. He also thinks he has a baby in his tummy just like mommy. Hudson will be 2 years old and 9 months when this baby comes, so hopefully his feelings will change by then!
Will you do weekly bump updates? Probably not. Sorry. You can see my weekly updates with Hudson here. I really loved do them…but they were SO much work. I hated that stupid chalkboard towards the end. I can’t imagine having time to do that this go around. I’ll post pictures every now and then so that you can see (because there’s nothing cuter than a baby bump, am I right?) but probably won’t be updating it every week. (p.s. dang, I was cute last time! And tiny! I already look like I am 20 weeks….hope this bump slows down a bit!)
You look great, Julie. I couldn't wait to find out if Millie was a boy or girl, kudos to anyone who can hold out.
I am so happy for you and your family…but, you have given me major baby fever! I was pregnant at the same time you were pregnant with Hudson, and loved reading your blog! When you started your Breastfeeding Diaries series, I was about to pop and trying to learn as much as possible about being successful at breastfeeding. That series was priceless for me at that time! Thank you and congratulations! Now, off to talk my hubs into trying for #2!
I hope the sickness stops stat! Becsuse it's exactly zero fun tossing your cookies STILL at 33 weeks! I love you guys for not finding out!! Seriously best surprise ever because either way it's the perfect outcome! And HELLO BUMP! So so cute!!
So exciting! I think you look really great this time around too. And I'm glad to hear you are feeling better now. Hope it continues to go well!
So glad you're taking Zofran now! Why go through all that suffering if you don't have to. It totally made things better for me when I was preg. Congrats again!
You're looking too cute! 🙂 I can totally understand not finding out the sex of baby # 2…I could have totally done the same, but I'm not sure my husband could have! Thankfully, since it is a girl and we already have a boy it has given us plenty of warning so we can stock up on pretty frilly pink clothes and accessories! But next time, I think it will have to be a surprise! Hopefully you can stay well now that you are through that first part…isn't being nauseous so fun with a 2 year old?! 😉
The bump DEFINITELY makes itself known a lot earlier the second time around:) You look great, Mama! Hoping you continue to feel better, that's for sure. I started feeling a LOT better between 16 and 17 weeks, so I will be hoping the same for you! And I am TOTALLY with you on the bump updates. I cannot handle the thought of doing them every week this time around, but I am aiming for every couple of weeks. We'll see if I can keep it up! Definitely post bump pics every once in a while – because you're right, there's nothing cuter than a baby bump! Loving that we are pregnant together, friend. So fun!:)
Congrats again! Since you are interested in a VBAC, I highly recommend reading Silent Knife. Looking great mama!
You look great, mama! So excited for your family. Hudson will be a great big bro! xo
You are looking great!! I am taking Zofran, too, and it's a life changer!! I am so much sicker this time. 🙁 I hope you feel better soon!! So exciting for Hudson and your whole family…I can't wait to watch you grow and meet this little baby!!
Congrats!!!
Such an exciting time! I really do feel like the second time goes faster, but I'm experiencing way more aches and pains this time around…so lovely! 😉
Haha. I so wanted to be surprised with both however with the first I compromised with my husband and we found out, with the second (due to high risk and the 500 ultrasounds I had) a tech slipped thinking I already knew so well NEXT TIME totally a surprise! 🙂 Though I am dying to know what Hudson will be having – No patience with others – You look GREAT and super cute!
TOTALLY missed the announcement, but am so excited for you!! Congratulations!
Congrats!! I am so sorry you are not feeling well. I was so very sick when I was pregnant the only thing that got me through was Zofran!!

I am loving all these mommas who are pregnant as the same time as me! I think I'll forever have baby fever and you're SO CUTE!
You look just adorable!!! The second pregnancy totally flies by and no one will begrudge you weekly updates, but seeing baby bump occasionaly would be nice 😉
Whitney
I didn't find out with either of my babies and it was the best surprise ever!! My hubby being the one to say "we have a boy" and "we have a girl" was the best!! Congrats to you!!
My boys are 2.5 years apart and it's great! They are now 4 and 17 months and they really are starting to play well together! Congrats again! I said I wasn't finding out with the 2nd and as soon as I walked into that 20 week appoiintment I said, "were finding out damnit!" I was also starving and needed to pee 🙂
You look adorable and so happy. The second time goes by so fast. It's so wonderful, but it's very different when you're also chasing a toddler around. I'm so excited for you guys! Hudson will eventually get on board with the baby. I think. Mac's finally starting to come around!
I hope the nausea goes away soon! I know how awful it is. I didn't find out with any of our 4 kids, and it's an amazing surprise!
you look fabulous! I hope u continue to feel better too! Do you read the Hand and the Heart blog? she hasn't had her VbAC yet but is preparing for one and has written a LOT about her preparations. Might be helpful. Oh and I so vote for the find out camp! 🙂
Oh you gotta keep us updated regularly – for all of us way back here in Calif. We want to enjoy watching you grow. And we want to see the cute, cute clothes:) Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeese – love ya
Grandma Susan
First of all, I can't believe you kept the secret for 15 weeks! You are far better than I am. I can barely keep a secret for 15 minutes LOL. And second, you look so cute! Love that little bump 🙂 Congrats again!
I totally missed this announcement but I am so happy for you Julie, that's awesome!! So exciting, can't wait to follow along with your pregnancy for baby #2 🙂
I hate you've been so sick this time around!! Praying it lets up soon & you can get back to feeling as much like yourself as possible while pregnant! I think Hudson will be a great big brother – kids have an amazing way of adapting! At least that's what I've seen with friends kids. I am so excited for y'all & cannot wait to read more – when you have time of course! I don't even do the chalk board (because I can't write all cutesy! HA!) but, they are still time consuming! Ahh! So glad I got to catch up on this post!!
This is so exciting – having had baby #2 this year, I just know how exciting and different this second pregnancy is! I'm so sorry about the sickness, there really is nothing worse and I hope it eases soon and you can enjoy this experience again.
