Hudson’s Birthday!

On Friday, my baby boy turned TWO! Thank you to everyone who left him sweet birthday messages! I can assure you he totally felt the love! Hudson woke up for the first time as a two year old and was greeted with a ton of balloons everywhere, a donut with a birthday candle, and a huge pile of presents. Needless to say, he had the BEST. DAY. EVER.

The present opening/balloon aftermath. Hudson was so excited to open presents…he kept bringing them to us saying “open it? open it?”

After presents, my husband and I took Hudson to our local Children’s museum. We went for his birthday last year so now it’s sort of a tradition! Hudson LOVED it so much and had a blast!
His favorite section is the construction zone, where they have recycled tire parts everywhere for the kids to sweep, scoop, and wheelbarrow around the bridges, slide, and tunnel. So much fun!
On Saturday we had my husband’s family and my mom over for a little birthday party. I didn’t go all out this year and decided to just keep it simple. Hudson loves ice cream so I ordered him an ice cream cake from Cold Stone. Well. They lost my order and my husband had to wait for them to make a new one. And when he brought it home I just had to laugh…it looked like the person who made it was drunk. They wrote “Happy Birthday Hudson” on it, but I think Hudson could have done a better job. I tried to cover it up with birthday candles….luckily Hudson could have cared less!
Hudson got Woody and Buzz for his birthday and has refused to put them down ever since, he loves them so much! And I failed at getting good photos of his big day…this is the best we got!
I can’t believe my baby is two whole years old! We love you so much Hudson…you make our lives so much brighter. You are our biggest joy and most wonderful blessing!

I love that you went simple for Hudson's second birthday – I'm thinking when the time comes to start planning for Caleb's, I will be going the simple route too. And that cake? Hilarious! What a funny memory:) Although it looked a little wonky, I'm sure it tasted amazing, and that's the most important part, right? Still can't believe he's already 2. Time just flies!

Sounds like the PERFECT birthday! Even if you didn't get as many photos as you want (which I never do either.. and it always seems to be on big days like birthdays!), you have the memories that will last forever. Looks like Hudson had the best day!
