Hudson is One!

I can’t believe my baby is one. I can’t even remember what life was like before him…but at the same time, I can’t believe it’s been a year! My baby is growing so fast.

 photo RenAug13_05wm.jpg

We just got back Hudson’s one year photos and I’m in love! Miranda did our maternity and newborn photos, so it was so nice to catch up with her again.

 photo RenAug13_09wm.jpg
Height and Weight: We’ll know for sure this week at Hudson’s one year check-up, but as far as I can tell he weighs around 23 pounds and is 29 and a half inches tall.

 photo RenAug13_13wm.jpg
Health: Hudson has had a few colds and temperatures, but nothing too bad. He busted his lip for the first time this weekend after falling on the ground. There was blood everywhere (well, maybe that’s an exaggeration…but if you know me, you know I do not deal well with blood!). His lip is a little swollen and he has a scab, but otherwise he’s fine. I, on the other hand, will never recover.
Sleep: Hudson usually sleeps 7:30pm-6:30am. We have a rough night every now and then, but for the most part he’s pretty consistent.

 photo IMG_1122wm.jpg

Diet: Hudson started eating the “big boy food” that they provide at daycare! Which means I haven’t had to make purees lately…yay! I’ve been making us green smoothies with berries, yogurt, juice, and spinach in the morning and Hudson drinks them like a champ. His favorite foods are chicken and cheese quesadillas, corn on the cob, black beans, ground turkey, blueberries, grapes, popsicles, and graham crackers. The kid will do anything for a graham cracker. He’s still being breastfed for now but has no problem drinking whole milk too.

 photo RenAug13_10wm.jpg
Clothes: He’s mostly wearing 12-18 month clothing and pajamas.

 photo IMG_1406wm.jpg
Baby Gear Love: Hudson LOVES his new car that he got for his birthday. He walks over to it and climbs in…and then gets upset if you don’t start pushing him around. He also loves blocks, books, and putting things into bags.

photo RenAug13_18wm.jpgLikes: Playing with toys, riding in his car, being held my momma and daddy, dancing to music, tickle fights with daddy, chasing Wrigley, walking, and sharing food.

 photo RenAug13_19wm.jpg
Dislikes: Holding still, diaper changes, getting dressed, and having his nose wiped. So basically mornings at our house are really fun.
 photo RenAug13_16wm.jpg
Social: Hudson smiles at everyone he sees and is such a happy boy. He has developed some pretty serious separation anxiety when I get out of his sight, which just breaks my heart….but usually is fine after a few minutes. He loves watching other kids and shows no fear walking right up to kids twice his size.

 photo RenAug13_23wm.jpg
Milestones: Walking! Hudson started walking shortly after turning 11 months old…and hasn’t stopped! He gets better and better each day. He’s also waiving “bye bye”….but his hand faces inward instead of out when he does it, which my mom said I did as a baby too. SO stinkin’ cute! He started “dancing” this month when he hears music. It’s more of a sway/bounce than an actual dance. But it’s adorable.

We love our BIG one year old!

Today’s special feature is the cutest little Southerner turned Northerner….Stephanie from Newlyweds North….seriously, how gorgeous is she!

Hey Ya’ll!

I’m Stephanie and my little corner of the blogosphere is called Newlyweds:North.
I started Newlyweds:North just a few months ago to document the absolute craziest time of our lives: our big move from South Carolina to Maine (?!) just days after we walked down the aisle….

That’s right ya’ll, things have been quite an adventure around here!
I’d love to have you tag along as I document our first year of marriage and (perhaps more terrifying) our first real Winter up North. And just in case the whole moving to another planet thing bores you, I also love to chat about my TJ Maxx scores, decorating our home, my attempts to DIY without killing myself and feeding the men in my house.

Oh and P.S., my now Husband purchased our new home in Maine sight un-seen by either of us, I quit my job to move here and am adjusting to life away from the office, we honestly don’t own coats and we miss some things Southern in a major way. But, we love hard, fight hard and laugh hard so I know we’ll survive what’s ahead (right??)….

Great photos! He looks so happy (and sounds like he's happily moving into toddler land). Callie hates all the things you mentioned to! Around that age (maybe a month earlier?) I started to teach Callie to wipe her own nose because she seriously hated it so much. Anyway now she's so good at it I don't have to do it and she thinks it's fun and wipes her nose for no reason and wipes her dolls/animals noses! Anyway might be worth a try! 🙂
