How to Plan a Simple After School Picnic

This post is sponsored by Stonyfield® Organic

With school plans out of control and changing every minute, I’m choosing to focus on something I can control: our after school routine! After my kids are done with school for the day, I love to offer them a yummy snack, a fun wind-down activity, and just some time to relax! I’ve been brainstorming ways to make after school snack time fun and exciting even with all this uncertainty going on. One way we are switching things up this year is taking our snack time outside for a fun picnic! We love being outside when the weather is nice. It’s amazing to me how something so simple can bring out the biggest smiles and giggles.

Getting back into a school routine is going to be hard for me and for my kids. We’ve been spending so much of our time without a strict schedule…and while I love it, I’m also looking forward to more structure. That’s why an after school picnic together is so important! We will all need the time together to unwind after the day and enjoy some time outside!

These two bring the fun wherever we go!

All you need for a fun after school picnic is a blanket and some yummy snacks. You can make it as simple or as fancy as you like! I find that my kids just love it when I throw in some fun new little detail like cutting up their snacks into stars, throwing together a picnic inside on a rainy day, or even just having a simple game of “I spy” during snack time. Really, it’s the little moments and little details that help turn an ordinary snack time into a memory making afternoon.

It’s especially fun when a puppy crashes our picnic! Something about having Ruby around has made our picnics more fun…and more challenging, I think! She was super interested in our snacks!

I just love how Sadie loves Ruby. It really is the sweetest. Making memories outside together is our favorite.

After learning at home, or at school, all day, my kids are always starving! I really want to make sure I’m offering my kids good options for snack time. One of our favorite go-to’s for healthy snacking anywhere, any time, are Stonyfield® Organic Kids Smoothies. They are so delicious and made from quality ingredients.

Just like everything at Stonyfield Organic, these smoothies are Good on Purpose! My girls love these smoothies because they taste great. And I love them because they contain live and active cultures and are a great source of calcium. They are the perfect combination of irresistible flavors and organic ingredients. I feel good about offering them to my kids. Combine a smoothie with some fruit and you have the perfect after school snack. And picnic!

Stonyfield Organic wants their products to not only be good for you and your taste buds, but also good for the planet! They are the perfect addition to our picnic! I love that we can take them anywhere and are easy to toss in my bag for snacking on the go. Find out where you can find all of our favorite Stonyfield Organic products at a store near you here.

Another way that Stonyfield Organic is Good on Purpose is by helping protect families from pesticides in parks and fields with the StonyFIELDS #playfree Initiative. They are working with experts and communities all across America to make all playing fields organic by stopping the use of harmful pesticides on playing fields. I just love that mission so much. So many unhealthy chemicals can be brought into our home unknowingly, just by playing outside. So, knowing that my kids are safe from pesticides no matter where they play is so important to me…and I especially love that it’s important to Stonyfield.
