Sometimes it seems like a blogger’s life is perfect. Perfectly cooked meals, perfect hair, perfect outfit, and an always clean and tidy home. That’s not real life. In an effort to keep it real around here, I want you to see that I am FAR from perfect….trust me.
That hair that you think always looks good? It doesn’t. Especially this weekend. My bangs are a hot mess.
Remember that wreath I made last fall that was so cute? It’s still up on our front door. Crooked, sagging bow, sagging and faded moss. Welcome to our home! Yeah….I need to get on that.
And the dresser that was supposed to be done over the weekend so I could blog about it this morning? Yep. Didn’t happen.
See that blue tape on the screen door? Sophie put some holes in it with her sharp baby claws. It’s been “patched” like this for weeks now. Classy.
And my always perfectly tidy house…yeah right. This is probably the cleanest room in my house right now.
Just keepin’ it real…..hope you enjoyed a look in to my un-edited life!
I love your un-edited life. I never thought about it but a blog does make life seem perfect. I'm glad you are comfortable enough to let the world know you do have to work at being perfect. We love you the way you are….which by the way is very close to perfect.
A) I still think you have stunningly gorgeous hair. If I saw you in public, I would definitely hate you. Cause your hair is cute regardless.
B) If that's your messy living room… I shall never post my bedroom floor. It's…. a hell hole.
I love this!! And this post makes me love you even more! 🙂 That couch looks super comfy….I would definitely make that my weekend spot! ha
YES! That's real life – gotta love it! As I sit here typing this with my chipping pink nail polish (totally meant to fix that last night), I can totally relate to the things that we never really show in blogland. 🙂
I love this post. It's so true that many bloggers' lives seem perfect in every way. I can totally trump your untidy living room with my hot mess of a kitchen.
I LOVE this post and laughed out loud at your wreath comment. I love that you are keeping it real and showing that none of us are perfect. I think it should be a requirement that people do posts like this more often. Too funny!
Love this post! I need to do one myself. I think bloggers have a tendency to just post the perfect good stuff. It's nice to see that we are all human!
Definitely love the unedited version! 🙂 looks a lot like mine!! Our door is sans wreath right now…must get on that. Boo to the holes in the door!!
Love this! I have a pile of DIY projects that were supposed to get done "last weekend"…
Oh so true! I think we all need to do a post like this! My house is a hot mess these days…the final days of pregnancy are wearing on this girl!! 🙂
Haha love it!! Our house always looks like a hot mess and we don't have kids yet…we're in trouble!! Oh well!! Love this post!
Love this & it's so true! That perfect picture that we all take is just that very spot… people don't see everything that I shoved out of the picture to make it "look" perfect! HA!
thanks for posting this! i might even get up the nerve to do one too!
I love this! all too often we don't realize the stuff that needs patches and focus only on the good stuff. My blog is the same way, I am a horrible cook but on the occassion something turns out it makes the blog, my hair is a mess more times than it is good, projects never get done in the time frame they need done, and Dear Lord if anyone was to see my bedroom this morning I would consider shutting down my blog! Love that your keeping it real!
I laughed so hard…can we ever relate and yet blogging often does make everything seem perfect! Thanks for encouraging all of us to be real, and have a blessed day! I'm sure you will get around to things soon enough…especially when you start 'nesting'!
You are wonderful! I just have to say it…I LOVE YOU Gal! Seriously, You made me LOL! this is some serious real life s… ! and I love it… mostly because I find the 'lets pretend life is perfect' annoying!
Thank you for this post!! It is easy to compare yourself to others when you feel that others are "perfect" and you are not (atleast I do this sometimes). Thank you for reminding us we are all human!

Hahaha! You are the cutest! Its always nice to see someone keeping it real!
Who wants "perfect"? It's boring…..I stayed in my pajamas all day yesterday!!
You're just as perfect as you need to be!
Perfection is overrated anyhow! <3
Love it! To me the "perfect" home is a lived-in house, filled with love! And that usually means a few messes and what not. 🙂
I ADORE this post! It is so, so true. Life is a hot mess! But it's a fabulous hot mess. 🙂 XO
I have that same coffee table… are the baskets also from Ikea?
I love real. So many women I think feel like it's never enough … the career, the kids, the husband, the perfect body, the perfect meals … we can't do it all … not at once anyway. Thanks for this!
Best post ever!!! Sometimes blogging is just an illusion…but thanks for keeping it real! Love the blue tape on the screen…thats actually a great idea!!
I love this post! And if you think your living room is a mess, you should see mine. But I do blame my kids a little for it. 🙂
Can't wait for your tutorial about the dresser! I want to paint a dresser that color for baby boys room to use as the changing table, so I hope you share the color of paint! Love the wreath and everything else less than perfect, such is life, reading blogs can really make you feel inadequate as a wife/mother so I appreciate your honesty.
Love this post because it is so "real life." We always try to clean up our houses and everything before taking pictures and putting them on the blog. I liked the look into your crazy, normal life 🙂
I love this so much! I get so irritated at all the "perfection." LOL…I should do a "Keep it Real" post, but I think people would be appalled. Ha!
OMG! Love this!!! I sometimes get "mad" at myself for not keeping the perfect house, or not finishing whatever project I start, so posts like this make me happy because then I realize that I'm not alone! HAHA 🙂
