Easy like Sunday morning….said no mom ever. Mornings with three kids can be challenging…especially when they all wake up at the same time and demand something from me all at once. With our summer schedules being all over the place, our morning routine has actually gotten way more relaxed….and I’m LOVING it. Going back to school in a few weeks is totally going to throw a wrench in to the easy-going morning routine we have going on right now. And I’m not looking forward to it. As much as I love schedules and structure, taking it easy in the morning with the kids this summer has been so great for my mindset.
With three kids I often feel overwhelmed and rushed to get out the door. So taking it slow in the morning this summer has really helped me focus on my kids and find joy in the little things they do as they wake up. The kids have been sleeping in until 7am or 7:30….and yes, with young children that totally qualifies as sleeping in! It’s been so amazing.
Hudson has even started getting up on his own, going in to the kitchen to grab a snack for breakfast, and then turning on the television all by himself. WHAT? I thought this day would NEVER come. It’s allowed me to catch a few extra minutes of sleep and is basically the best thing ever.
Since we don’t have to rush out the door to school for a few more weeks, it’s allowed us to eat breakfast together slowly in the mornings, take our time, and not feel like we need to hurry on our the door. I’m trying to savor every last drop of these slow mornings together. I know these mornings are numbered and before I know it we’ll be rushing off to kindergarten, pre-school, church events, and play-dates. But for now, we are taking it easy in the morning.
We’ve even had a chance to eat our breakfasts outside! It’s not too hot yet and a perfect way to wake up. I love these easy going mornings with my little crew.
Recently we’ve been enjoying our favorite easy breakfast of mini pancakes (I make a bunch ahead of time and freeze them…or just buy them pre-made at the store) with a side of fruit and our favorite Dannon® Oikos® Traditional Greek Yogurt. We’ve been loving the key lime and raspberry flavors lately!
It’s a great way to fill up those little bellies. Dannon® Oikos® Traditional Greek Yogurt is a delicious Greek yogurt and each 5.3 oz. serving has 150 calories and 11 g of high-quality protein.
I picked up our Dannon® Oikos® Traditional Greek Yogurt in store at our local Walmart…..you can also use Walmart’s Online Grocery Pick-Up option to make your shopping trip even easier! Right now you can earn money back with this amazing Ibotta offer on the single serve cups or this offer on the 4 packs from Walmart!
Now is the perfect time to stock up on this delicious snack for the summer.
Summer mornings are the best. Love these little gingers!!
