A few years ago my mom bought a cute little lake house up north. We love going up there and enjoying how peaceful it is by the water! It’s great to have a place escape every now and then. As soon as she bought the house Jon could NOT WAIT to buy a boat. He was chomping at the bit to get out on the water!
It’s only about an hour drive for us, so we like to get up there whenever we can! Hudson has been going up with us since he was only a few weeks old….how cute is this photo of him? I’m dying.
That first summer we bought a speed boat (Jon was thrilled!) and spent several weekends cruising out on the water! Michigan is so beautiful in the summer and out on a boat is the place to be!
It’s so gorgeous out on the water! We just love it.
Wrigley likes to get in on the fun too! How cute is he in his life jacket? I can’t get over it.
Are you going out on a boat this summer? Here are some of the things we always bring with us:
– a life jacket for everyone on board, even the dog! This is a MUST, especially if you are going tubing or skiing!
– sunscreen
– extra towels
– cooler filled with drinks and water
– snacks
– a floating keychain for your boat key
– sunglasses
– water shoes
– waterproof bag for phones
– bluetooth speaker
One time Jon jumped in the water with his car key in his pocket. Thankfully it didn’t come drop out and get lost in the water! Ever since then we have put the boat key and car keys on a floating key ring. You don’t want to lose those!
I think Jon loves being out on a boat the most! He’s already talking about what boat we’ll get next once the kids are a little older……we can’t wait to take them out on the lake and go tubing! It’s like a mini vacation right outside our door.
I’m pretty sure I’ll teach them a thing or two about how to hang on tight while daddy drives! Ha.
