5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s almost Christmas??? Today I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for everybody’s favorite link up, 5 on Friday! You should join in on the fun!
 photo IMG_4507copy.jpg

{one} We went to see Santa. And it turned out pretty much how we expected. We love Santa.

 photo IMG_4539copy.jpg

This is the best shot we got. I kinda like the crying one better!

 photo IMG_4682copy.jpg
{two} Snow gear and a toddler are exhausting. So. Many. Layers. And Hudson could barely move. But, since it was finally above 25 degrees we let him romp around as best he could in the snow for a while the other day. He LOVED it.

 photo IMG_4311.jpg

{three} I caught a nasty stomach bug and was sick for three days. Want to know a what’s a good idea for the holidays? Get sick, loose 5 pounds, get better, then eat 5 pounds of Christmas cookies. I call that winning.

{four} Nothing says Merry Christmas like fire safety equipment! Since I was sick I didn’t get around to sharing my Christmas list. Want to know what’s number one on my list? This emergency second story fire escape ladder. My husband and family think I’m crazy for asking for this…but I say I’d be crazy not to! We need two of these bad boys for two of our second story bedrooms that are too high to jump from in case our house catches on fire. These are the kind of things that keep me up at night. Let’s add two new fire extinguishers to my list too.

{five} Also on my list are these antlers. Because they are amazing.

Happy Friday! P.S. do you love Starbucks? Then don’t forget to enter the Starbucks giveaway!

That fire ladder is a great idea! Every year at Christmas my parents always got us something practical like that and wrote, from: Safety Santa. I used to get mase for my key chain every year! HAHA! Merry Christmas and enjoy your sweet baby. BTW, does any kid love sitting on Santa ;-)?

I'm sorry you were sick, but I think making up for five lost pounds with Christmas cookies is genius 🙂 Our visit to Santa wasn't a happy one, either!

A fire escape ladder is a great idea. Practical, but safety is very important to me too! Hudson looks so happy in the snow!

I love that you are asking for fire safety ladders for Christmas. You crack me up! (But honestly, it is a good idea to have them). And the pictures of Hudson are too cute. I think I agree – the crying one is awesome:) Hope you have a very Merry Christmas, sweet friend!

Mike gave me a safety ladder last Christmas!! I'm dying laughing- I definitely didn't ask for one 😉 and I clearly need the flu to aid in weight loss– Christmas cookies are totally worth it! In love with Hudson's crying Santa picture! Crying ones are fully the best!!

We had one of those ladders when I was growing up and I remember doing a "drill" one day and seeing how long it would take us to get the ladder in the window. Thankfully my dad didn't make us climb down it too!

Glad you are feeling better and that Hudson had fun in the snow! Have a Very Merry Christmas!

That's totally the same kind of thing I think about in the middle of the night too…fire alarms, disaster preparedness kits, family disaster plans, etc. Definitely doesn't help me sleep better!

I love seeing Hudson in the snow. I bet it is super super exhausting getting him dressed, and then undressed with all those layers.

I hope you're feeling all better, friend!!

That's too funny about the fire escape ladder… that's what I asked for for Christmas too:) My family thinks I'm crazy but I'm so paranoid about those things. Just found your blog and really enjoy reading it:) Have a Merry Christmas

Isn't Santa swell? LOL. Great picture. We are taking Madeline this weekend to get hers done. Is it wrong of me that I'm hoping for a crying like crazy picture? I know, parent of the year right here. Merry Christmas!!

Hudson and Santa – too cute!

I'm so with you on the fire ladder. I wanted one for my office on the sixth floor of the building but it seems that six story fire ladders are a wee bit pricey… 🙂

    Merry Christmas!

I'm kind of expecting the same turnout with our Santa meeting this weekend! 🙂 And I'm laughing about your Christmas list including fire safety items, but totally thinking maybe we should get a couple of those too! That's something you definitely don't want to wish you had when it comes down to time you need it!

Mason totally cried last year with Santa and we thought he would do the same this year but he nailed his Santa time and even smiled! I love that you asked for a ladder – those things keep me up at night as well… fires, tornados, zombies. I'll have to add an escape ladder to my list. Merry Christmas!

Love the santa pic and REALLY good idea on the fire safety ladders!! We just moved and need those for sure!

I love Hudson's coat – we have the same one for Charlie – love CostCo!

5 on Friday

Happy Friday!!! I’ve been dealing with a sick kiddo all week, so I am SO glad to see the weekend come around. (And thankfully he’s MUCH better!). Today I’m linking up with The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and  Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG
{one} It’s basically fall…which means it’s time for some new fall candles from Bath and Body Works!!!! I LOVE all things pumpkin…and these are my absolute favorites! My house smells like a yummy pumpkin pie.

 photo IMG_1936.jpg
{two} Our Citrus Lane box arrived yesterday and it was another hit! Click here for $10 off your first box! That makes your box just $15 and you get free shipping. Yay! It’s such a fun way to learn about new products specifically picked out for your child….and it’s like Christmas morning when your box of surprises arrives! I decided to increase Hudson’s age in the system by 6 months so that we would get items for the next stage he is in…I’m not sure if that had any impact on our box or not. This month we got a Charley Harper ABCs book (that is gorgeous!) a full-size Playful Wash by Episencial that smells so good, a Super Toddler Bar from Happy Family that I’m keeping in our diaper bag for emergencies, City Planner Blocks from Hape Toys that I am in love with!!!! I’m saving them for a special surprise for Hudson when we travel to CA next month. And I also got a special treat for myself….a nail polish by Julep. I’ve been wanting to try Julep for awhile now so I was super excited to get this! We also received a ton of coupons and 20% off an order at Julep.

 photo IMG_1913.jpg
{three} Why, yes, I do enjoy lining up Hudson’s animals two by two to enter the Ark. Thanks for asking. They stay that way for about 3 seconds before he godzilla-smashes them.

 photo 9ac963034c.jpg
{four}There’s still time to enter the Aidie’s Hideaway giveaway going on right here. Her garlands are a must for fall!
{five} I’m kicking myself for not ordering the Mint Condition necklace from Premier Jewelry. It needs to be mine, don’t you think? If you sell Premier let’s chat!

ps- so so happy hudson is feeling better!!!

How smart to increase their age in the Citrus Lane system. Hadley is 11 months and we got a rolling toy instead of the blocks and some lotion instead of the toddler bar. I may bump her up for the next kit.

Godzilla-smash…that's a perfect explanation! Cameron gets this Grinch-like smile when I start stacking his blocks because he knows he's about to Godzilla-smash them!! Haha

    Have a great weekend!

I do something similar with my daughter's toys! It's fun to watch them destroy it all, haha.

I'm loving the pumpkin pecan waffle candle. I've burned it so much it's already more than half way through. Problems.

I am two mouse clicks away from buying that precious Thanksgiving garland. Want. It. So. Bad. But we also have our house up for sale and have no idea where we might be at Thanksgiving, so that's holding me back a bit…

So with you on the pumpkin candles. I picked up sweet cinnamon pumpkin a couple of weeks ago and have been enjoying it ever since. Love this season so much!!!:)
