5 on Friday

Happy Friday! 5 things….let’s do this.

{one} Don’t forget I’m co-hosting the Christmas Pajama Party link up on Monday! I can’t wait to see your little ones in their Christmas jams!

{two} This week Hudson had his Christmas program at school. My sister-in-law, mom, husband, and I were all taking bets as to his performance. Half of us thought he would rock those jingle bells. Half of us thought he would stand there and give the crowd his blank stare. Luckily my mom and I were right and he jingled those bells like it was his JOB. And then when he had to come off the stage and sit with us while other kids got up on the stage he had a meltdown. Figures.

{three} This is what happens when you give your two year old stamps.
{four} I recently started using the Car Seat Cinema to protect my iphone when Hudson uses it….and I’m in love! It’s super cute, and easy to use.

The plastic cover allows Hudson to easily use my phone without me worrying about him dropping it or getting it dirty. Total lifesaver! The clips also allow it to be clipped to a shopping cart, the back of your chair in your car, or even your stroller. You can learn more about the Car Seat Cinema here. We’ve used it at Target a bunch of times…only problem? Hudson was using my phone so I couldn’t snap a picture! Ha!

{five} These. Are. Amazing. And I haven’t been able to find them this year. WTF. Pregnancy cravings are kicking in strong and I can’t do anything about it. So sad.

Happy Friday! And now I’m linking up with basically everyone….

Loving that picture of Hudson on stage, jingling the bells like it was his job. So cute! Looking forward to the pj link up!:) And now I feel the need to get a sprinkled donut. Right. Now. Thanks:)

Hudson is so cute with his jingle bells! I wish I had known about the car seat cinema before… a few weeks ago I got something similar to attach the ipad to our head rest in the car so the kids can watch a movie in the car and the thing I got is much less versatile and not nearly as cute!

5 on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! After missing last week I’m back for 5 on Friday and linking up with ladies of The Good Life, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too!

(print)
{one} I’ve been in a fog all week after learning the news of a fellow blogger who’s 3.5 year old son was hit by a truck and killed on Friday. You can read more about it here. Her sweet little redheaded boy has been all over my instagram feed and I can’t even bear to look at all of the photos. I’ve been squeezing my little redheaded boy tight all week and thanking God for the wonderful gift of being his mommy. Our little blogging community has really rallied around Jaqui and Dan and it is nothing short of amazing. #redballoonsforryan

{two} My husband put in a new mailbox over the weekend and had a handy little helper by his side the entire time. Melt my heart.

{three} Meg posted about this bag and I fell in LOVE. Stripes AND gold? Yes please!

{four} Hudson played with a pretty impressive collection Rody toys at Catch Air this week…..so he totally needs one, right? My husband disagrees. Someone please set him straight. (p.s. if there are any Grand Rapids locals on the lookout for a good indoor play place I highly recommend Catch Air! Hudson always has a blast and I have fun too! Plus, they have amazing customer service….I am a disorganized mama and lost our frequent play pass while we were there and they were kind enough to replace it for me. I was pretty disappointed about loosing it, so I’m thrilled to say the least and so is Hudson!)
{five} I may or may not have spent my lunch hour giggling over these cat photos. Because, why not?

Your own little redhead is so sweet – love that he loves helping daddy. Such a fun stage. And I LOVE that West Elm bag. Mama needs. Hope you have a very good Mother's Day, sweet Julie!

5 on Friday

Yay for Friday! I’m so glad it’s finally almost the weekend! As usual I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too!

{one} Hudson’s number one favorite activity lately is to go to a new kid’s play place in town, called Catch Air. I ask Hudson if he wants to go to the big slide place (that’s what we call it!) and his face lights up! Then he shouts “one, two, three, WEEEE!” over and over until we get there. I just want to bottle him up and keep him forever. He always has a blast and never wants to leave…and I can’t blame him, it’s fun for me too!

{two} Never Been Kissed was on TV the other day and I had to stop everything I was doing and watch it. Even though I’ve seen it at least 20 times…it’s just one of those movies you can’t not watch. Know what I mean? I feel the same way about When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, The Wizard of Oz, Top Gun, Easy A, and Love Actually.
{three} The kid’s happy camper t-shirts from Camp Brand Goods are on sale….I might just have to break down and get Hudson one. I mean, he needs one right?
{four} I may or may not have taken advantage of Gap’s 40% off sale…..I can’t even remember what I bought so when that package arrives it will be like Christmas morning. So excited!
{five} My mom is taking Hudson for the night so my husband and I have a kid free evening AND get to sleep in on Saturday. We have a hot date planned…which in our house means renting a movie and eating ice cream. Livin’ the dream over here!
Happy Friday!

I love all of those movies! I'd add An American President though. I watched my copy so many times it skips now, so Id just love if somebody put it on TV so I can watch it again.

What is Hudson doing on the coffee table? It looks like he is singing…like when a musician falls to his knees at an emotional point in the song, and he is even clutching his heart…was he singing?!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Happy Friday! I’m so glad it’s finally almost the weekend! As usual I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too!
 photo IMG_5794copy.jpg
{one} Let it go….let it go….can you tell we love us some Frozen songs? Hudson does a great “let it go” dance! My love for the movie + Hudson’s love of the songs has even made my husband a Frozen fan! Which leads me to my next point…..
{two} I pre-ordered our copy of Frozen and can’t wait for it to arrive! It releases on dvd/blu-ray on March 18th…and let’s be real….this movie is crazy popular and I wouldn’t be surprised if it sold out. It’s Disney’s biggest hit since The Lion King. But thanks to Amazon Prime we not only get the best price, we also get it delivered to our door the day it releases. Hello most fabulous thing ever invented!
{three} I could write an entire post on how I make dinner each night. In fact, I think I will. It usually involves tiny grabby hands all up in my business. Or bites to my booty. Seriously, this boy bit me in the booty 5 seconds after I took this photo.

{four} I always have my eye out for fun boy clothes and Hudson NEEDS this tractor tee from elSage designs. This would make my tractor lovin’ boy so happy!
{five} ALL of the cake balls I made for the Lucky Recipe Linkup are now official gone. They were too yummy not to scarf down! Did you link up with us? There’s still time! Matches will be made next week! Details can be found here.
Happy Friday!

Frozen!! I want to pick it up so bad when it comes out! I wonder if Owen would like it? Mom confession here: I set Owen up with a snack and a little (watered down) juice and a 30 minute episode of Cailou so I can get dinner going. Dinner usually takes longer than 30minutes, but in that time I can usually get past the prep and occupy him with the salad spinner when his show is done. #makeitwork

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

High five for Friday! Today I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness and you should too! Let’s get this party started…
{one} I’ve been using Essential oils for a while now and have nothing but good things to say about them! Using them has really helped my little family with SO many things….Hudson’s sleeping habits, breathing easier when we have a cold, cleaning without chemicals, defense against daycare germs….I’m officially in love! I’m working on a a post all about my favorite oils and how I use them for everyone who has asked….but in the meantime please feel free to email me if you have questions! (thegirlintheredshoes @ gmail) and you can also buy oils from my site HERE.

{two} Hudson has been loving tomato soup lately. His attempts to eat it with a spoon are acutally pretty good…and adorable. I know I’m biased but oh my word, it doesn’t get much cuter than this. When he gives up he just dunks his hand in the soup. Dinner time in our house is always fun!

{three} I haven’t had time to read a book in ages…..now I’m dying to read The Antelope in the Living Room. It sounds hilarious and perfect for a married mama like me! I’m old school and don’t have a kindle…anyone else like me? Maybe I would read more if I had one….

{four} Is this not the sweetest bracelet ever? One with Hudson’s name on it might just have to make it’s way to me….I love it soooo much.
{five} On Wednesday night my husband and I got to go to a special screening of The Monuments Men (which comes out today!) and it was SO good! It was funny, heartwarming, smart…..I loved it and highly recommend it! My husband liked it too….he also liked that a blogging perk for me meant a spontaneous date night for us! Blogger win!

Can't wait for your post on essential oils. I'm def interested in trying some!

I LOVE that bracelet!!!! I have been wanting something with Cam's name on it…this bracelet is small enough but makes a huge statement. 🙂

Thanks for the book recommendation…I don't have a kindle, either, so I just borrow them from our school library. 🙂 I am so old-school in that department. I would much rather read a BOOK than slip my iPhone to turn the page. 🙂 I just finished Gone Girl; have you read it?

Dinner time is what I like to call pre-bath free-for-all. It never ends with a clean baby, high chair or floor!! Haha

    Have a great weekend!!

5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

It’s been a while since I’ve linked up for 5 on Friday…..excited to be back and THRILLED that it’s Friday! Today I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness and you should too!

{one} I’m obsessing over these Kate Spade Stud Earrings. At only $38 I might need more than one pair, don’t you think? Now if only I could decide….

{two} This print is calling my name….I think it would be all kinds of awesome in Hudson’s room. And it’s only $5!

{three} I have a major itch to organize my house. This month I’m focusing on the kitchen and am in LOVE with this pantry makeover from The House of Smiths. I don’t really have a pantry (so sad!) but my cabinets could all use some straightening up. Hopefully I can work on this soon!

{four} This week my husband and I bought a new car! We needed something with more space that was also good in the snow….so Toyota Highlander to the rescue! I drove it yesterday to work and it was kind of awesome. It has a touch screen, syncs with my iphone, AND has a rear view camera. Basically this car should be mine…even though my car is still new. Can you say spoiled?

{five} Staying in the organization theme, I think these diy toy storage sacks are adorable….now if only I knew how to sew!

Happy Friday!

I love those earrings so much! Definitely get them in the green first because that shade would be PERFECT on you! Congrats on the new car – it's always fun to get a new ride:) And oh my gosh, that pantry. It makes me feel so inadequate. I don't have a big pantry like that either, but the cupboards I do use for a pantry look NOTHING like that. Only in my dreams, lol!

I have the KS earrings in yellow and never ever have enough courage to wear them! They look huge in my ears (maybe I got the wrong pair?). And yay new car!! Especially one that drives so nicely through the snow!!

  7. Colleen Sullivan says

    January 10, 2014 at 2:49 pm

Congratulations on the new car! We bought a bigger car right before Owen was born, but it was really for my husband since his car died… fast forward 2 years and I've totally stolen it and made it mine. But really it was because having a larger car that easily fits either stroller and has tinted windows and more space in the backseat made more sense since I always have O. I can't wait to hear more about your organizing! I love getting organized!

I've got the itch to organize too and that's all I've been doing all week! New clothes and new toys for me and the toddler, means it's time to go through the old stuff to donate and store away. It's fun, but also exhausting. Happy Friday!

5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Happy Friday! I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for everybody’s favorite link up, 5 on Friday! You should join in on the fun!

{one} For the first time in several years we didn’t have professional photos taken for our Christmas card (gasp, I know!). We tried three different times to get a good photo with varying levels of success…so you’ll see a lot of photos of me wearing the exact same sweater…ha! I originally overlooked this one but now I really love it. I chose a different photo for our card but think this one is a keeper.
{two} I came home from work yesterday to find that my husband had made dinner and bought me the Target Christmas pillow I’ve been wanting for several weeks! It has been sold out for the longest time but just came back in stock. Best husband ever.

{three} Did you watch Carrie Underwood in the Sound of Music last night???? I caught a few minutes of it but recorded the whole thing and can’t wait to watch it this weekend. I know it’s really cheesy but I can’t help it! The Sound of Music is one of my absolute favs. And Stephen Moyer singing? Yes please!

{four} I’ve been trying all week to get photos of Hudson in his (way too many pairs of) Christmas jammies….and usually this is what I get. Or I get his back. Mr. Man does not want to have his photo taken. I guess this is the story for the rest of my life, right?

HOVER TEXT

{five} Speaking of Christmas jammies…..above is the link up code for the Holly Jolly Pajama Party next week Tuesday! Please join Darci, Natasha, Jenny, Ashley and I to share photos of our little ones in their cutest holiday jammies! As evidenced above you do not have to be a professional photographer to join in the fun! And be sure to join us on Instagram too! You can find me at girlintheredshoes. Copy the code in the box above and add it to your post. I can’t wait to see your photos!

    2. That pillow is GORGEOUS. Please tell me that next year you're going to put Hudson in a little coupe and strap a tree to the top for Christmas photos. Because that photo would be spectacular.

    3. I really REALLY enjoyed Sound of Music last night. I actually was glued to my couch watching and tweeting it – couldn't get enough! Carrie's acting is stiff, but her voice is fierce.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Happy November! I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for everybody’s favorite link up, 5 on Friday! You should join in on the fun!

{one} Hudson rocked his first trick or treating experience. He is basically a pro now. We visited each of our neighbors and they all loved his Up costume! And our favorite neighbor, pictured above, handed out Bailey’s to all of the adults. Best idea ever.

{two} I finally got around to updating my “pregnancy” tab at the top of my navigation bar. (Just for you Christina!) And oh my gosh, look at my hair!!! I really miss those days of having time to make it pretty.

{Three} Hudson appreciated all of the love for his Up Halloween costume yesterday! As a big thank you to all of my amazing followers all sponsorship options are 40% off today only! Use code “November” at check out! And hurry…discounted spots are limited! You can view my sponsorship packages here.

 photo IMG_2250copy.jpg
{four} We are in the process of moving Hudson up to a bigger kids room at daycare where they expect him to sleep on a mat during nap time. Have they met this kid? Good luck with that.

{five} Now that Halloween is over it’s time to start thinking about Christmas decorations, right? I am in love with this deer head pallet….and guess what? It’s made out of styrofoam. My mind is blown!

I think your hair still looks pretty! Can't believe that pallet is styrofoam! I don't think I would attempt to have Caden sleep on the floor right now, he would be most likely get up and start playing with toys again, lol, good luck to Hudson's daycare.

Dominick had to start napping on a mat at daycare when he turned 1 (in September like Hudson). I never thought he would sleep, but surprisingly he will lay down and take a nap on his mat. Maybe Hudson will surprise you too. 🙂

5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG
Happy Friday loves! I’m linking up with The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too!

 photo IMG_2401.jpg

{one} I finally moved the majority of Hudson’s toys to our family room cabinet. There are still a few toys floating around in our living room (well, technically also all over the house) because we tend to use that room the most….but the goal is to keep everything contained to one room. Hudson is THRILLED to have a new place to play…and it seems we have entered the climbing stage. Lord help me.

{two} I basically basically live in boots all fall and winter…which means I’m in need of some new ones! I have my eye on these amazing boots, red poppy bag and adorable booties….all from Sole Society. After Jessica posted about her great finds I’ve become obsessed!

{three} Pumpkin Spice Muddy Buddies…are you kidding me? These need to get in my belly now!

{four} Have you seen the eos lipbalm multi-pack from Costco? Every time I’m there I am this close to putting it in my cart. Best lip balm everrrrr.

 photo IMG_2097w.jpg

{five} There’s still time to enter the Sugarboo & Co. t-shirt giveaway on my blog here. Seriously they are the cutest shirts ever and Hudson LOVES them. And I do too!

Happy almost weekend!

I've been thinking about investing a storage bench because my kids have tons of toys. They've taken over and I need them out of sight. I haven't pulled out my boots yet, but I have been searching some cute new ones to add to the rotation.

Yay climbing stage! We have a total climber too… I wish it got better-but instead they get taller and better at it! Love me some EOS. And those booties are divine! I always go back n forth on if I can pull them off (only one way to find out right?!). Hudson is so cute… Can't wait to see you so so soon!!

  6. Colleen Sullivan says

    October 4, 2013 at 1:32 pm

I think it is a great idea to keep all of his toys in one place. My sister-in-law (a mom of junior high and high school kids) suggested this to me and I think it's brilliant: keep toys hidden away and only take out one "category" at a time, this way they never get tired of their toys. I think it's smart and try to do it with Owen.

I bought the multi-pack of EOS lip balms and I am so glad I did! I'm never without one now (they're everywhere in my life!) and now I have a life time supply!

    Happy weekend!

Isn't having the toys in one place so easy? I have a huge canvas bin that all of Noah's toys go into when we're done for the day and it helps so much with keeping clutter up! And I love that red bag- I'm eying a purple one at Target, but you've made me consider a pop of color!

5 on Friday

Happy Friday! I LOVED having a short week!
Today I’m linking up with the girls from The Good Life Blog, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and  Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday…and you should too!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

 photo IMG_1030w.jpg

{one} My baby is one! Are you tired of me talking about Hudson turning one? I sure hope not. It’s kind of a big deal around these parts. This boy has been spoiled big time with a party, presents every day this week, cupcakes, a trip to the children’s museum with mommy AND daddy, going out to eat, and getting extra attention at daycare. He’s in for a rude awaking next week when everything goes back to normal!

{two} Here’s a tip for all of you moms out there. If you decide to install a back-up convertible car set in your husband’s car, be sure to install it right after you install the one in your car. Don’t wait two months like we did. Because I promise you that you will forget how to do it. And those instructions are worthless and might as well be written in Chinese. And you will have to YouTube how to install it…again. So take my advice, and install them both at the same time. Oh, and in case you were wondering, yes, I had to basically sit in the seat to get it tight enough. Fun night at our house! (We have the Britax Marathon in my car and the Britax Roundabout in my husband’s car. The Marathon is totally better.)
{three} In October I’m taking my husband to Disneyland!!!! I grew up with a season pass and we went all the time…but my husband has NEVER been! To say that I am excited is an understatement. I can’t wait to introduce him to Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted House, the Tiki Room….I could go on and on! I haven’t been since college, so I’m sure there’s tons of new stuff! Any tips of where we should eat that day? I mean, besides the place inside of Pirates?

{four} It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I LOVE fall! As soon as September hit we started enjoying crisp mornings and cool nights. And it just smells like fall! I can’t wait to make some cute diy pumpkins like these.

{five} Is anyone watching Siberia on NBC? It is the dumbest show I have ever seen….yet my husband and I can’t stop watching it. It’s so bad it’s good. It’s a scripted drama about a fake reality show. And oh my word, it’s ridiculous. Each week we are shocked it hasn’t been cancelled. But then we are secretly glad it hasn’t.

Have a great weekend!

I'm still talking about Avery turning one and it's almost a month later!

She had an accident in her carseat (of course after we dropped hubs off at the airport) and I had to take it out to wash it. I was almost in tears trying to get it back in. I thought I wouldn't be able to do it and wouldn't be able to leave the house since hubs wasn't there to help. But I love the carseat!

First, I love reading your blog, so thank you 🙂

Second, my husband and I have Disneyland passes and visit frequently (its the perfect date night)! The best place to eat for your money is the All You Can Eat BBQ place back behind Big Thunder Mt. (by the ranch with live animals- they serve lunch and dinner) It is a great deal for your money PLUS they let you take your food to go (TRICK: order extra food about 10 minutes before you plan to call it quits, take a few bites then ask them for to go containers!) Also in CA Adventure we love the Lobster Nachos in available in Paradise Piers at Ariels Grotto Bar. I've also heard Goofy'sKitchen is great for breakfast with kiddos because a lot of the characters visit (we don't have kids yet so we haven't done that yet).

Third, Big Thunder Mt has been closed, so hopefully it is back up and running by the time you go. The World of Color at CA Adventure is a beautiful show! Racers in CA Adventure is super fun, either leave Hudson with someone if you can or go in the single rider line while your husband waits with Hudson and then switch!

Fourth, download the free app for Disneyland wait times so you can check how long lines are and not waste time walking there and finding the line is ridiculous! Apps: I use Mousewait and DL Waits

PS you will be there during the Halloween celebration so make sure to visit Haunted Mansion and Space Mt.

Email me if you have any more questions 🙂

    Have a wonderful vacation!

Hi! Love Hudson's 1 year old pics!

Downtown Disney has a Amazing new restaurant called Earl of Sandwich (so yummy) also both DL and CA adventure now have a Starbucks. Would also recommend you try the Italian restaurant in Ca adventure next to the entrance to Cars Land, Wine Country Trattoria (looks expensive, but is actually very affordable and better than most of the other DL restaurants. Cars land has a restaurant called Flo's V8 Cafe which is also really good and quick!

    Have fun!

5 on Friday

Happy Friday! I’m linking up with some of my favorite girls today for 5 on Friday! I love sharing 5 things on Friday, don’t you?

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

{one} This kid. Aren’t tiny Toms the absolute best? I can’t get over this “boy in the red shoes”.
shirt / pants
{two} H&M opened their online store. OMG. So excited. We currently have an H&M being built in our local mall that will open this fall…otherwise I’d be ALL OVER THIS.
{three} Once Hudson starts walking for real (which I’m guessing might happen before his 1st birthday next month!) he will be bumped up to the next room at daycare. Which means I need to start thinking of thank you gifts! I have zero clue what I’m going to do…but I need to somehow incorporate these adorable labels from Sunshine Ink Studio. LOVE.
{four} Meg from Everyday Meg posted about this dress and I can’t stop thinking about it! I might need to add it to my wardrobe. It seems like the perfect piece to transition from summer to fall.
{five} Speaking of fall, I can’t wait for my favorite season! I’m excited for pumpkin patch visits, apple cider and donuts, crunchy leaves, and crisp cool weather!

H& M for little boys has some super cute clothes! I just got carter that top (and 2 others) yesterday!!! Carter's been wearing the shorts version of those green pants & they're so soft and comfy. Just FYI though—- the sizes run big. I almost added his h&M clothes to my summer favorite list the other day!

5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Happy Friday! Friday couldn’t get here soon enough. I am SO ready for the weekend. Friday means it’s time to link up with my favorite girls for 5 on Friday. Seriously the best link up ever!
{one} I’ve received a few requests to do a hair tutorial and let me just say that makes me so giddy! I really have no clue what I’m doing with my hair most of the time. I’ve been blessed with super thick and healthy hair, so it’s not too hard to style. Kate from The Small Things Blog has THE BEST hair tutorials that are way better than anything I could re-create. The one that is most similar to my routine can be found HERE. It’s totally worth watching. The only thing I do differently is I don’t comb each section before I curl it. Because I’m lazy. Oh, and I have like 4 times the amount of hair she has, so it takes me a little bit longer. I also only curl my hair on Sundays and Wednesdays. The rest of the days I just do a touch up here and there.

{two} Blogging has totally made me spend more money. Natasha posted about her super cute running shoes and I did what any blogger would do. I bought them that day. And thanks to zappos vip they arrived the next day. I am in love. Now I have no excuse for not working out.

{three} Little Hip Squeaks launched their new site a few weeks ago and I think I “window shop” there just about every day. I really want these leggings for Hudson. And if she started making them in adult sizes I wouldn’t complain. Just sayin’….

{four}Because it’s almost the weekend and because I love you all I’m offering 30% off all ads through Monday! You can view the different options available HERE. Use code “julieloves” at checkout.

{five} My husband has a guys trip planned
this weekend and as soon as I found out about it I asked my mom if she
wanted to have a girls weekend….and of course she did! I’m excited to
work on some projects, drink some wine, and maybe do a little shopping
with my mom. Oh and Hudson too. I guess it isn’t exactly a girls weekend
if your son tags along. Good thing he doesn’t mind being with us girls!

    1. I agree with idolizing your hair. Do you have any favorite products? My hair would NEVER hold a curl for 3 days without half a bottle of spray gel and being crunchy.

    2. I need those shoes… although mine are new already. Oops.

    3. I thought those leggings were adult and I was clicking before I even read the caption!

    4. Have a fun girls (and baby boy!) weekend!

I'm envious that you can get away with doing your hair twice! I had a big road trip on Monday and left at 4:30am so I had washed my hair Sunday morning. By mid-Monday (even after dry shampooing) my boyfriend was making fun of how greasy my hair gets. I literally have to wash it every day and if it's humid by the end of the day it looks like I've never washed my hair before! THin hair sucks!

5 on Friday

Today I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers (a. liz adventures, carolina charm, hello! happiness, and the good life blog) for 5 on Friday and sharing five of my favorites from the week!

{one}You all were too sweet to me in this post. I realize that you can’t really see my post-baby body well in the photo….it totally makes me look skinnier than I am. Don’t get me wrong, I am thrilled with my progress so far…but I have some toning to do. Part of the reason I may look skinnier than normal is because I’m wearing the pants I now refer to as my “miracle-make-you-skinny-never-want-to-take-them-off” pants. They are the Really Skinny pant from Gap….and unfortunately they are sold out right now. Anyone who has just had a baby should own these pants. I think I wear them at least two times a week to work. When Melissa recommended them I knew they’d be good. Seriously. I’m going to keep my eye out on Gap’s website because I NEED more of these pants!

{two}Oh my word. Talenti gelato in sea salt caramel is nothing short of amazing. I picked a container up earlier in the week and it was gone two days later. I couldn’t stop. Seriously so good I’m going to need more skinny pants if I keep eating this stuff. .

{three}Parsley Plus is my new go-to cleaner. As soon as Christina blogged about it I bought 6 bottles! It smells amazing and does a great job keeping my kitchen clean. Love love love this stuff! What would I do without other bloggers telling me what to buy?
{four}These wire baskets from Crate and Barrel are amazing. I ordered two of them a few weeks ago and now I’m kicking myself for not getting more. They are perfect for corralling baby items. I could use at least one in every room of my house.

{five}I heart my sponsors. I’ve been able to meet some of the sweetest bloggers and shop owners. It has been so amazing! Sponsorship is a great way to draw more traffic to your blog or shop….I highly recommend it! I still have sponsor spots available including a new option for an in-post ad! Check out the options here.
