2nd trimester pregnancy essentials

Happy Tuesday! Today I’m going to share some of my must-have items for surviving the 2nd trimester of pregnancy. Some of these items have been total lifesavers!
2nd trimester essentials

1. Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter. I know stretch marks are genetic, but I’m doing everything I can to try and prevent them…so far this is doing the trick and it smells good too.
2. Eos Organic Lip Balm in Sweet Mint. Erin told me about this and I love it! Pregnancy makes my lips chapped and this is a total lifesaver. I have them stashed all around the house. (Target has the best price for these!)
3. Water bottle. Any kind (BPA free) will work. I don’t go anywhere without one since it’s really important to stay hydrated. Especially when you get a horrible leg cramp in the middle of the night!
4. BellaBand. I still wear mine every now and then. It’s perfect for keeping up your regular pants that you can no longer button.
5. Tums. I just added these to my must-have list last night after heartburn work me up in the middle of the night on Sunday. Pregnancy heartburn is no joke! So far Tums are working for me.
6. Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion. My hands seem to be really dry and this stuff works miracles.
7. Kashi Pumpkin Pecan Granola Bars. These are so yummy! And have fiber (so so so important these days) and protein. Any snack with those two ingredients is considered a must-have for me.
8. Boppy Prenatal Total Body Pillow. Another Erin recommendation and probably my favorite thing on this list! It is so comfy and has helped me sleep more soundly on my side. Go out and buy this now!
9. Frizz Ease Heat Defeat Protective Styling Spray. I have super thick hair pre-pregnancy and now it’s even thicker. This has been a lifesaver for not only protecting my hair from my constant curling iron action but also for smoothing it out. I also recommend frequent trips to your hair dresser. I have my hair thinned out each time I go!

What are your pregnancy essentials?

Pretty sure I'm the only pregnant girl alive who didn't get luscious thick pregnancy hair. . . At least it meant that I haven't lost it all in clumps yet? And the heartburn, I don't miss the heartburn (but I do kinda miss the boppy).

I didn't get the thick pregnancy hair either! Heard about the pillow, but never bought it. That will change with number two! I carried a water bottle everywhere! Definite must have, along with the Bella band. I think you've got everything. Can't think of anything else.

I miss my pregnancy hair! It grew so fast and was so shiny. I drank water like a camel which I think really helped me not be swollen since it was so hot here last summer. I also used a body pillow and still do. It keeps my hips aligned. My skin was very sensitive during pregnancy so I switched to all sensitive skin products. I also lathered lotion on like crazy in the morning and night and I didn't get any stretch marks on my belly. Don't ask about other places lol!

loved reading your list! I never thought about getting my hair thinned out at the salon but that would have been awesome. I tell you what after you have your sweet baby boy your hair will be shedding like crazy, so thin it out as best you can now!

These are some great essentials… I carried around Peppermint Tic Tacs at work to help with the heartburn and occasional nausea! It was the only thing that helped, and I always had fresh breath! Ha! 🙂 Totally wish I would have sprung for one of those body pillows! She looks pretty cozy… Have a great week!

I woke up with heartburn every night after the first trimester, so I had Tums *and then Walgreens brand because I was buying so many and they were cheaper!). I was worried that I would have cavities, but my dentist said my teeth never looked better because of all the calcium. Ha!

I received the best gift from daddy at Christmas. It was the Destination Maternity essentials set. It was a white tank, black yoga pants, black short sleeved rouched shirt and black long sleeved shirt. I lived in those in the third trimester.

Check out my Baby Talk tab and I have a million things I wrote about right after I had my daughter. Something on there may help:o)

I totally need the giant pillow – my hips have been hurting this week when I wake up…do yours? I am 24 weeks!

My skin has been so, so dry as well – Bio Oil has been a life-saver, as well as Goat's Milk lotion – ever heard of it? Organic, and smells delicious! I have "Queen Bee." They don't have the most beautiful site, but I promise the lotion is amazing! They also make organic baby products! You can find it here: http://www.udderdelight.com/catalog.php?category=5

Have you purchased a glider yet? I just posted about the one I ordered — it is to-die-for comfortable, and I would totally recommend it to anyone! 🙂
